Title: Question for UK peeps
Post by: Krowdon on November 07, 2015, 09:14:21 PM
I have a friend I'm sending a package to, and they requested candy. I'm not sure what candy I can send that you don't have over there, and they don't know what they want, so I'm looking for suggestions.

Armored cars and tanks and guns
aimed to take away our sons!
but every man must stand behind
the men behind the wire

Armored cars and tanks and guns
aimed to take away our sons
but every man must stand behind
the men behind the wire

In the little streets of Belfast
in the dark of early morn
British soldiers came a-running
wrecking little homes with scorn
hear the sobs of crying children
dragging fathers from their bed
watch the scene as helpless mother
watch the blood fall from their heads

Armored cars and tanks and guns
aimed to take away our sons
but every man must stand behind
stand behind the wire

Not for them a judge or jury,
or indeed a crime at all
being Irish means they're guilty
so they're guilty one and all

'Round the world the truth will echo
Cromwell's men are here again
England's name again is sullied
in the eyes of honest men

Armored cars and tanks and guns
aimed to take away our sons
but every man must stand behind
the men behind the wire

Armored cars and tanks and guns
aimed to take away our sons
but every man must stand behind
the men behind the wire

Proudly march behind our banner
proudly march behind our men
we will have them free to help us
build a nation once again
come the people step together
proudly march on your way
never fear and never falter
till the boys come home to stay

Armored cars and tanks and guns
aimed to take away our sons
but every man must stand behind
the men behind the wire

Armored cars and tanks and guns
aimed to take away our sons
but every man must stand behind
the men behind the wire.

Hmmm....trying to remember stuff that they might not have.....(correct me if I'm wrong UK peeps)

Twix
Some of the starburst and skittle flavors are different. Like they have black currant and we don't but i don't think they have grape.
Laffy Taffy
Pop Rocks
Butterfingers
Sour Patch Kids
Warheads
Twizzlers
Rock Candy
Hershey's Cookies and Cream (this is about the only chocolate bar I'd suggest because they just have better chocolate in general than we do)
Hot Tamales
Junior Mints
Any Wonka candy

No problemo. Make sure they send some back to you...like a lion bar...I LOVE lion bars but they are always stale when I trying to buy them out of the international section here.

The only thing that the US shall embrace is GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR WAR.

I'm not really sure what you have that we don't, I know you guys have Hersheys but I have yet to meet a fellow Briton that enjoys the taste (it's pretty different from the chocolate over here).

I've gone through Briars list which is pretty useful:

Twix - we have this
Some of the starburst and skittle flavors are different. Like they have black currant and we don't but i don't think they have grape. - We don't have grape, I'm not sure what the other differences are
Laffy Taffy -Don't have this
Pop Rocks - No idea what this is
Butterfingers - isn't this an offensive name for someone?
Sour Patch Kids - huh?
Warheads - nope
Twizzlers - Turkey Twizzlers?
Rock Candy - pretty sure we have Rock Candy, unless you're talking about a different kind?
Hershey's Cookies and Cream (this is about the only chocolate bar I'd suggest because they just have better chocolate in general than we do) - I'm glad we agree on chocolate
Hot Tamales - nope
Junior Mints - don't have this
Any Wonka candy - we have Wonka over here, maybe it's different though?

Lion bars are good, not sure it beats a Wispa though!

Hershey's is low quality, there might be other brands (of which I cannot name) which might be more appealing.

Is Wispa like Aero bars? If so, the mint flavor is where it's at.
