Strategy / YEEP!
May 06, 2003, 07:01:42 PM

Quote from: calriaLook! No weasels, stoats, or skiffs! And yet, I attack, and don't get through! He looses none, I loose none, but I don't get anywhere. How does this strat work? Loads of guard towers, or what?
Eeheeheehee!!! **continues to cackle gleefully** Behold! Calria has made a mistake! :wow!!: I'm not active on the forum, but I'm still aware that Calria seems to be the local spelling and grammar guru. If you will observe the fourth sentence in the quote above, you will see the word "loose" used twice, once in plural form and once singular. I believe that this would indicate that not only is this a mistake, but that Calria would normally get the words lose (what should be used in this situation) and loose mixed up. **Gasp!** How utterly horrific and un-guru-like! :o Sorry Calria, but the truth must be heard... -_-

**Flees the scene**

Help / Bugs / Moving North
May 04, 2003, 03:24:13 PM
If you really want to move north, just destroy your huts until they're equal to your leaders/100. Then move north and build them again. It should take less loyalty if you do that as well. If that doesn't work... Well, I guess you just lose then.

I don't really want to become involved in this topic, but I feel obligated to state my opinion on the White Stripes. They are shockingly untalented. Next time you hear one of their songs, try to pick out the most complex parts that they play. Once you've done that, play some Jimmy Hendrix or somesuch and pick out the least complicated drumming and guitar bits. Compare. Finally, realize that all they're capable of is making catchy tunes which slowly grow more and more annoying. I must admit that 7 man army is a pretty cool video, though. All the same, I sense a conspiracy and subliminal messaging. Now, some good bands/musicians. I'll just list a few.

Alice in Chains
Tool
Nirvana
System of a Down
Bad Religion
Rage Against the Machine
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Incubus

Yes, well. Might come back, might now. Make what you like.

Clans / Northern

Well, you're both welcome to Falcon if you want in, though membership is a little more permanent than that in other clans, so you might not want to. Well, you know most of that about Falcon, anyway. Too bad you have to disband Northern. Tsk, tsk.

No problem, Austin. You have to leave Falcon out of some polls just so other clans get a chance at a couple votes, right? ;)  :D

What's this disgusting display of poor memory, Austin? I don't seem to see any sign of Falcon there... **grumbles menacingly** Give us some credit. Falcon was an ally of Northern before the reset, remember?

General Discussion / Location
February 09, 2003, 07:20:16 PM
The best location depends entirely on your strategy and personal preference. If you consider leaders to be very important, then Southsward is your best bet, while if you find that economy and leaders are at an even level, Mossflower is best, and fast-growing economy junkies should head for the Northlands. The ironic part is that you need leader capacity to get to a place where leaders aren't emphasized.

General Discussion / New Numbers
February 08, 2003, 03:24:05 PM
I'm undecided now... I might kill you, or I'll protect you... One of two extremes. The whole thing's a little impersonal though, and I'll kill you soon enough in that you'll be able to start a new account without losing much time, so I don't see how it makes much difference. You might get 70 or 77 or something else. Look to the positive side. **chuckles in utter cruelty**

General Discussion / New Numbers
February 08, 2003, 02:58:54 PM
Winters Minion #22 shall die as soon as the two of us are out of warlord protection. This should at least amuse me somewhat. I got 54 this time. I'm only annoyed to a mediocre level, but I will still kill #22 quite thoroughly.

Strategy / Clans after the reset
February 07, 2003, 06:50:53 PM
The Empire of Faltriadary'll be there, unless I'm not for some freak reason. And then I might use my psychic powers to make someone else start it... Or trick them into thinking that I'm coming later, but I'm really not... But then again, maybe I am. That would be a comical predicament, but only because I laugh at very weird things.

News / Updates / Reset / Move
February 07, 2003, 06:39:34 PM
**Is feeling quite decidedly odd at the moment due to unknown causes.**

Hey Retto, since you're such a great guy and you already have the other server set up, how 'bout you reserve us WOD members our warlord numbers? I'm sure it wouldn't take too much time. Please? :(

**begs with dignity intact**

If you're not going to do that, then at least establish a regular reset time of two months or something. I think the game would be much more interesting then. :D

Oh, and since there's very little chance that Retto's going to give me my number 'cause he just pretends to be a nice guy and is really a big meany (just joking -- please don't modimify me!), I pity the poor sap who ends up with number 22. Unless he's me, of course. That would be just smagling. Actually, I don't pity him at all, which is the reason that I'll kill him as soon as is warlordly possible.  I'll then set about on a mad rampage that involves killing or severely maiming anyone who has a number with consequetive twos in it. **likes his twos and hates other people who have twos, even if they don't particularly like them** Or I'll just be content with killing #22. Depends on how I'm feeling at the moment when I choose to be spontaneous within a collection pre-determined choice possibilities.

**Finishes off display of gibbering folly with a bitterly dramatic shake of his fist.**

General Discussion / Message from Fenix
February 06, 2003, 07:31:14 PM
I can testify that Beatles is in fact not Pete the Hacker, just in case you folks think it's him. I must admit that Beatles is the kind that seems rather suspicious of a crime like this, but evidence shows otherwise. Fact of the matter is that Pete would require knowledge of PHP and MySQL databases in addition to his other hacking skills were he to alter the database values. I spent qiute a while finding the best tax rate and some other such information from the PHP source. Not wanting to give away such hard work freely (Well, not really hard work. Didn't take me that awful long at all, but I like being annoying.), I only told him some hints as to where to find the information. Not knowing PHP, he was unable to come up with the right numbers. Voila, mes amis. The only other possibility is that he just did really bad math, which is unlikely considering that he boasts of his calculus skills.

The reason your passwords should be changed is that Pete the hacker, or whomever is doing this, is probably capable of getting everyone else's password, or has them already. Fenix cronies should be warned especially. I expect that things will be corrected once again by the mods, but if you've received any major packages of unexpected aid from Fenix around 8 eastern time on February 6th, I would ask that on his behalf you do nothing with it, but instead inform the mods of the exact amounts so that things can be regulated. I myself was quite shocked to receive some 5M in troops, as well as much loyalty, money, and food. (Please note that I did have position 10 before this happened ;) ) I think that should suffice for a notice. Once Fenix finishes himself off by hyperventilating, his corpse should respond quite angrilly.
