 *laughs*
It's not my fault that Red Dwarf comes on here at something like MIDNIGHT on Saturdays... *sob*

How come every guy I've ever dated has had a thing about Red Dwarf?

Almkman

Who is Rimmer? What is Red Dwarf?
Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
  While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still
   Summer's heat or winter's cold
The seasons pass the years will roll
Time and change will surely show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!

But... I don't have a thing for Red Drawf, it just really cool. It's like keeping up apperances (which is a cool show too)

Klamath

Red Dwarf is a BBC science fiction comedy.  Rimmer is one of the principle characters of the show.  He's kind of a geek, only more spiteful.

as if embracing the rays of the sun.
Merely wandering along,
I leave behind only a trail of footsteps.

For me, Rimmer reminds me of the old times. When it was even more fun than now. 'xcept that bit about...but never mind that. I won't bring it up again. It got Stormclaw mad enough. Apropos, I found this cool conversation I had with Ragefur at the time. I'll quote with his permission later.

Blackeyes

Lol, I've never watched the show but I sure have heard of it.
Dark days are coming my friends....... oh yes we are in trouble....

Klamath

Yeah - like Shytalon said, it's not really the avatar that's special, but the memories connected to it.

BBC programming is not available in the United States...
I am back. First to notice gets a cookie...

*ten years later*

Oh.

Klamath

That's not entirely true.  It's available via the BBC America channel, PBS stations (that's where I first saw Red Dwarf), and video/DVD.

Not my local PBS. BBC America is only available on digital. My parents never let me buy videotapes or DVDs. lovely! *pouts*

Oh.

Klamath

Yeah, my local PBS stinks.  My old one, where I used to live, had a TON of British programming - stuff like Red Dwarf, Doctor Who, Are you Being Served?, The Prisoner, and all sorts of stuff like that.

Most of the Red Dwarf we have on tape is recorded from that PBS station (the rest was bought from catalogs), and sadly enough I don't get BBC America, either... *sniffle*

I've only watched Red Dwarf once, but, like Blackeyes, I've heard a lot more about it.
