I'm interested in starting a roleplay in which Vikings attack Redwall, and make it sort of styled after a Redwall book. I'm going to be Viking Commander and the positions that are available are Abbey Warrior, first mate, Viking, Skipper, Redwallers, Viking Captain ect. Is anyone interested?
I'll join.
I'd like to have second in command for Vikings and some Redwallers. Can I have the Badger Lord? Is that a role?
It originally wasn't going to be in but now that you mention it I guess it can be a position so yes you can have it.
Alright. I'm going to have a Redwaller, a viking ,and the Badger Lord.
If anyones interested in being in the Long Patrol, let me know. :3
I shall be the Larry Shoe of the story(a.k.a. the main hero). I will be a mouse warrior who is so great and perfect in every way. Unless you want this to be SUPER SERIOUS then i will be a serious mouse warrior.
Also, since I like being two people at once, I am also Abbot Jakes(I have several Abbot Jakeses, none of em the same)
I guess I will be a generic Long Patrol hare too

You cannot have a mouse warrior who is perfect in every way because thats not fair.
if this had some humor, I would make it so that he's narcissistic and thinks everything he does is right and good.
He can be like that. Thats fine. But no perfect characters.
the choice to make him narcissistic is Flitchaye's decision. His RP, his choices.
Its your character though. HE doesnt control your character, he's just running it. So he gets to decide what the vikings do and move the plot along, but you control what your character does.
But if my character completely ruins his plans for a non silly rp, then I'll just not do it.
I want to be the one person in every book who is in charge of brewing all the beer.
the foremole usually makes the beer and alcohol. But you need a funny accent that doesn't exist IRL
I'm gonna be a germano-norse hedgehog who may or may not be an alcoholic.
...
alcoholic hedgehog + Narcissistic mouse + other = A PRETTY LULZY STORY
This story will be better than that one RP that never left the dock before sinking
this might be the best comic strip
If someone makes this into a comic, I would pay money for it.
So when do we start?
After we get enough people who want to join.
I WILL DO IT
I am possessed with the ability to draw things that look like stuff.
EDIT: Also I want to play a Skipper and he is an otter obvs and his name is Bosun.
Bc of being an otter.
He speaks in regular english.
I don't see any problems with that.
as the main character slots have been mostly taken, why don't we make everyone else controlled by everyone?
No. That would make it too complicated to tell who is who.
well, they are generic characters, yes?
The Vikings are all yours if you want to
Nah I'll just stick to my character.
well, I kinda doubt that anyone else will join in, so why not?
Maybe, just maybe I'll do that.
Awesome i now control the two most plot-irrelevant characters.
*eats toast*
Aren't you guys going to post your characters?
like... with a CHARACTER SHEET!?
What, you want me to make a character sheet like Dungeons and Dragons?
if I have to get my dice from the car for this i will be annoyed.
You're not going to have to.
well, the RP mod already did that fer you here (http://www.redwallwarlords.com/forums/index.php?topic=16319.0)
Then why aren't you using it?

He is not stupid.
I'm reasonably sure that pretty much all medieval rulers were tyrants.
We'll go with Aristotle's definition:
"one who rules without law, looks to his own advantage rather than that of his subjects, and uses extreme and cruel tactics—against his own people as well as others"
The modern definition is "an absolute ruler."
Fredrick Barbarossa was not a tyrant and he was a medieval ruler and the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.
By the definition of an absolute ruler, he certainly was, as were all the Holy Roman Emperors.
He was hardly a saint, either. I suggest you read his wikipedia article at the very least.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Barbarossa
Wikipedia is inaccurate as heck. I can prove this as I have edited cat genetics before.

Historical facts are historical facts. Shall I point out a few? If you happen to notice any inaccuracies, point them out with references and I'll accept them.
Quote
Frederick undertook six expeditions into Italy. In the first, beginning in October 1154 his plan was to launch a campaign against the Normans under King William I of Sicily. He marched down and almost immediately began encountering resistance to his authority. Obtaining the submission of Milan, he successfully besieged Tortona in early 1155, razing it to the ground before moving to Pavia where he received the Iron Crown, and with it, the title of King of Italy. Moving through Bologna and Tuscany, he was soon approaching the city of Rome. There, Pope Adrian IV was struggling with the forces of the republican city commune led by Arnold of Brescia, a student of Abelard. As a sign of good faith, Frederick dismissed the ambassadors from the revived Roman Senate, and Imperial forces suppressed the republicans. Arnold was captured and hanged for treason and rebellion....
...Rome was still in an uproar over the fate of Arnold of Brescia, so rather than marching through the streets of Rome, Frederick and Adrian retired to the Vatican.
The next day, 18 June 1155, Adrian IV crowned Frederick I Holy Roman Emperor at St Peter's Basilica, amidst the acclamations of the German army. The Romans began to riot, and Frederick spent his coronation day putting down the revolt, resulting in the deaths of over 1,000 Romans, and many more thousands injured.
There's that.
Another one that stood out:
Quote
With the refusal of Henry the Lion (his cousin) to bring help to Italy, the campaign was a complete failure. Frederick suffered a heavy defeat at the Battle of Legnano near Milan, on 29 May 1176, where he was wounded and for some time was believed to be dead.
....Frederick did not forgive Henry the Lion for refusing to come to his aid in 1174. By 1180, Henry had successfully established a powerful and contiguous state comprising Saxony, Bavaria and substantial territories in the north and east of Germany. Taking advantage of the hostility of other German princes to Henry, Frederick had Henry tried in absentia by a court of bishops and princes in 1180, declared that Imperial law overruled traditional German law, and had Henry stripped of his lands and declared an outlaw. He then invaded Saxony with an Imperial army to bring his cousin to his knees. Henry's allies deserted him, and he finally had to submit in November 1181. Henry spent three years in exile at the court of his father-in-law Henry II of England in Normandy, before being allowed back into Germany.
There are other points, but it's late and I'm not in the mood to go through battles, etc, for specifics.
My point is that he was certainly a tyrant. Maybe he wasn't a bad leader. Definitely he wasn't Caligula. That doesn't make a difference as to whether or not he fits the definition.
I don't think video game cutscenes are any more or less accurate (or unbiased) than Wikipedia.
Especially since this provides no specifics or references of any kind and expects the viewer to more or less take on faith that what they are saying is true.
Emperor Charlamagne I was not a tyrant.
Guys, this is a REDWALL RP. 99% of the main villans were tyrants.
My character listens to the advice of his commanders unlike other villains.
A tyrant is defined as "an absolute ruler", as previously mentioned.
QuoteIn the summer of 779, he again invaded Saxony and reconquered Eastphalia, Engria, and Westphalia. At a diet near Lippe, he divided the land into missionary districts and himself assisted in several mass baptisms (780). He then returned to Italy and, for the first time, there was no immediate Saxon revolt. Saxony was peaceful from 780 to 782.
Charlemagne (742–814) receiving the submission of Widukind at Paderborn in 785, by Ary Scheffer (1795–1858). Versailles
He returned to Saxony in 782 and instituted a code of law and appointed counts, both Saxon and Frank. The laws were draconian on religious issues; for example, the Capitulatio de partibus Saxoniae prescribed death to Saxon pagans who refused to convert to Christianity. This revived a renewal of the old conflict. That year, in autumn, Widukind returned and led a new revolt. In response, at Verden in Lower Saxony, Charlemagne is recorded as having ordered the execution of 4,500 Saxon prisoners, known as the Massacre of Verden ("Verdener Blutgericht").
This is a running theme for Charlemagne: take over pagan countries, kill anyone who doesn't convert to Christianity.
Bro that doesn't mean he isn't a tyrant. That means he's smarter than the average bear. This is the point I've been trying to make without being too too obvious about it.
Next time I'll just come right out and be as blunt as possible.
Oh let us just shut up about the topic and get back to the role-play.
yes. Whenever you guys are ready
We have to wait for Krowdon.
Wow. You nerds actually used my character sheets. Go ahead and start, I'm busy today but I'll try to have my characters done tonight or in the morning and just hop in.

Fine. Next time I'll make up my own. And it will be 2 pages long. Like this one. (http://z3.invisionfree.com/Redwall_forums/index.php?showtopic=1)
