I remember shadow mentioning it in a previous topic but i would just like to point it out again.

Would it be possible to put the tax box in the loot page as well as manage army? its such a drag going from one to the other throughout a run.

Maybe it could be made so you put in the tax %, then the amount of turns you want to loot at that % instead of changing the tax rate and having the reload the page.

Not a big deal but it would decrease the time it takes to run by half at least.

+1 - set a base tax in manage army which the loot page defaults to, and be able to change the tax rate for x turns while looting from that page.

i think so, but it would improve it  and make it even more of a competitor to leaders and indies.

to an extent of course, the usability of it will go out.

Seems more like a flaw in the design of the race than an issue with the UI.

Having to fidget with your taxes so often to (effectively and intentionally) exploit game mechanics is strange indeed. Its one thing when a person does this for a slight advantage, but when its the hands down best strat for a race, that is a bit strange.

the race is based on taxing workers, and surely changing the tax rate would be a huge part in the strategy.

I wouldn't call it exploiting its tampering to find the best use of a strategy just like many others have with other races, such as a hybrid indy producing food to upkeep and army its producing with barracks.

It's a competitive race with the others,  but the time it takes isn't always worth it and would put off any newbie attempting it unless explained to them.

I guess that is a better way of saying what I was trying to say.

Having the tax adjustment as the primary gimmick of the race (assuming one wants to play it competitively) is overly complex, and although I understand your point for wanting the tax box handy where you would normally spend most of a run (the loot page I would assume), it seems to me that the need for this kind of change would indicate that the race - rather than the UI - is in need of updating.

(what does UI mean?)
I see where your coming from, and yes it would be on the loot page.  It's one of the newest races and i feel it was well balanced when made, maybe not quite up to the standard of a pro leader or indy, but still able to compete.

Its a fun race to play and i think a race that differs from the rest is something that was needed, changing the tax rates is a great idea.

theres not much else you could do to with another strategy, and using something most people ignore was another great idea.

but, the main drawback is the time it takes to run the strategy and i feel something should be done about it, like decrease the amount of time spent changing tax rates,  to increase the effectiveness of it.

User Interface.

I don't do a lot of convincing. Mostly I make bad puns and grammar jokes. If you want something done talk to Shadow or Kilk. They normally have enough :words: to rationalize things in ways I really can't.

I understand why it's necessary, it just doesn't feel right to go through the trouble of creating a new feature/changing the UI if only one race is going to use it. Either some other races will have to find an application for it (and actually use it), or like Pippin said, increase the effectiveness so less micromanaging is required.

No other reason for it to be in loot page, so i guess that options not there :/

I cant think of how to increase effectiveness other than making workers leave at a lesser rate. Though shadow would probably have a better fitting idea.

Okay, here's a compromise.

I can put an option on the Manage Army page under the tax box that says "Display on Loot page?". Checking the box will make the tax box visible on the Loot page.
