Market decay is something I did not think of, and handles the market storage from getting out of hand on monopolies

Maybe the cash sold could be used for lottery or skiff races?

Either way I'm not opposed to it. But to be fair me and gier have less value on the market vs sevz and snare so this change would hurt them more

I don have a solution but I can recommend bringing back bots, 1 for each market rats/weasels/stoats/skiffs/food and increase bots as needed.   Over at earth empires bots are used in nearly every server and while they are terrible final day net finishers, they make great producers and buyers of goods on the market. More players on the market makes monopolies far more expensive aka difficult and eventually unviable. And with 3 month sets and dynamic pricing market monopolies make some of the best investment in terms of turns and resources built.

Holding networth like food or troops is begging to be destroyed. And leaders holding cash become prime targets for suicides>steal.

For all intents the market is still a storehouse. Can ya blame us though? It is so much easier to destroy networth than to create it, and in this game we can even take networth or be relieved of it. Only remedy I see is more market players to keep monopolies in check

The game has certainly shifted to public market monopoly play. But as shadow mentioned this is a symptom of the playerbase being too small. Or rather too few market players.

When we bought out rats the cash was spread out between sevz and snare. Two Indy rat empires had a rat market monopoly but they were fairly easy to rob. 22 steals takes about 60-70% of the empire's cash from what I witnessed. 350 bil split between 2 empires, that is 44 turns worth of stealing. If those rats were divided by say 4 empires, then we must spend 88 turns of stealing. Fail army and pearls seem to be on your side, it was a tactical error to keep all the rats between 2 rather than 4 empires. This would be a soft counter to market robbing. It would be less lucrative on our account stealing and the target empires would keep more cash after hitlimit. Suffice to say if there were say 8 market players holding rats, market robbing power would diminish.

The next part is when to to start stealing. There is a networth bug regarding the empire bank and public market transactions. The empire networth (in regards to cash) does not change until the empire logs in. It takes some espionages to figure out where the cash is leaking. The longer we wait to steal the more time the empire has to save all their cash .

Then comes the fact the whole operation blowing up in our faces if the empire targets log in, then they can save the cash by aiding it off to leader player and use it to buy us out. Tit for tat market warfare.

When to buy is critical too. Indy's depreciate their own goods due to the sheer volume of networth they make each run. Coupled with unlimited foreign aid.  If you hold troops we can murder it away. If you market we have a window of dirt cheap troops to buy favorably, with a chance of stealing it back too. Leader players cannot depress the price of 1 bil rats without investing cash in the first place. We let the indys not only make the goods but run down their own prices.

Me and Austfit have discussed it at length privately. I have a few observations, but as to not sabotage our strategy I will withhold a few of them :P

The most obvious is the ole' leader "Wolf+feast" hoarding strategy is nerfed heavily. Food is worth $5 on mercs now, when it was $9. This is a significant debuff in regards to food storing as a strategy in terms of converting food -> cash -> troops. It is arguable that public market safety is still incredibly valuable considering 3 month long sets but the other debuff is dynamic pricing.  Wolf would typically chuck food up on the market for $25. But now enemy empires with some effort can depress the food market to as low as $7 per food. 

For solo play leader is still the top predator but they lost out on food storing being viable compared to indy and their troop storing.  So far troops are now the go to resource for storage. I will end the discussion here to leave the server to figure out how best to utilize this avenue of storing.

You could only keep the current lock through the sheer effort of Wolf Snare (who in my opinion is one of the best teammates you could have in RWL and promisance in general) doing the trench fighting and scraping from us, holding troops/food for you while you run, buying your public market etc. How you could omit his indispensable roll currently as a teammate and thus utilizing teamwork, while chastising others is beyond my comprehension.  When we teamed up and you disappeared it was always Snare playing at 100% carrying your side of the slack. I can imagine it is the same now.

Having teamed with you recently I am quite knowledgeable of your ability: which consisted of tantrums when your strategy (locking) was not accepted and going inactive/burning turns when the competition became overwhelming.  Snare on the other hand was fighting in the trenches day after day as an indy when it was us 3 vs 5+.  He can also run a leader player at optimal capacity like staying under $100 mil networth for the 24.5% mission bonus, or utilizing the 22 hitlimit/70 ratio theory > 175 ratio.  While you on the other hand would have 175 ratio and 25 million leaders with 550 turns telling us it was not good enough for you to use missions on, only to later completely lose your ratio and pulling your weight down again with every missed opportunity.  You play a good indy, but still are sub optimal in maging/leader due to your habits and pride leading to a missed opportunity cost.  This alone simply means you are not the best at this game, if such a thing did exist.

Unless I am mistaken it is not possible to kill anymore as it is coded out. And without Snare to carry your slack I sincerely doubt you alone could lock or even net competently.
I actually am enjoying the challenge so far, but I am also crazy. And I do not represent all the others playing. Relax mang, you can run your empire how you desire for all I care but if you drive away everyone then the small pond you rule will leave you as the 1 big fish with nobody to compete with  :wink:

This assumes anyone will be here to play next round.  You demoralized the only players left into vacation/idling. Gier and austfit were running solo until I asked them to help me, and you know how they feel about the round.  They are still new to this promisance and then they see your +1 month of net building and discard any chance of fighting back as futile. I don't blame them.  Us 3 know the code well, but they don't.  Keep their spirits, up they are fast learners and have a good tutor to bust you down.

I take full blame for the market robbing.  I didn't expect Sevz to spend 1 trillion cash buying out our $1300 rats, then stealing it all back.  It was a high gambit that paid off because I did not assign anyone the role of 100% leaders/land. Brilliant move admittedly, not one worth giving up over though.  Regardless the goal is the same which is to break the lock. So far you have bleed networth going from 9 billion to 6 billion networth. I say that is progress and incentive to keep the fight going.

Each Rat = 1 networth. Military range is ~x10 networth. Leader Range is ~x20 networth. Each Rat has 2 offense and 1 Defense. Rat race has +25% offense. Wolf/Ferret has +10% defense. +5% defense for tie breaker. Gier can buy Rats on mercs for $357 with enough camps.

2.5 offense vs your 1.15 defense = 2.17 advantage. So to break your 2 trillion rats it would take about 922 million rats to break.  I wanted to do failed hits on you as well but I was running out of loyalty which I was using heal mission with to keep my health near 100% for maximum offense. It was either break Summertime or fail hits on you.

As we discovered 2 rounds ago Sevz, mercs has a cap of 99 mil rats making it very difficult to buy out enough rats to defend vs indy Rat and unlimited foreign aid in a timely manner. Even infinite cash cannot speed up the rat buying out process.

The goal is to simply break you. It would take extensive team effort to out net you guys with so little time left, so instead the goal is to free the land.  To remain invincible you would simply need more net, enough to stay away from ~x10 military range.

Wanted to mention anyone can help with minimal effort: All I need is for you to sign up and create an empire, break protection, join UFA clan so I have x5 networth Foreign Aid access. I load you up with Rats, you put them on public market for $1300. We can coordinate a time for a break once we reach our offense goal.  Only turns used after protection would be on aiding back Rats when the time to break comes. No skill is needed in this regard. Some mouse clicking effort is required of course but I can do all the fighting turn by turn and math needed to break. Thanks in advance!

Rat race has a training modifier of 1.25, Northlands location has 1.2 training modifier. So with Rat race you make $7.2 networth for each barrack per turn. The cash and food upkeep gets out of hand quickly so you need a clan mate to aid away all your troops to keep it cheap, usually to a leader player so it doesn't get murdered away.

Typical build is 99% barracks/1% huts. You want some huts for raise defences, to prepare raiders, and use rat:battlefield healers (10% less losses attacking an enemy, no fear losses attacking larger networth empires.) Mission: Leader Attack uses only 2% health. So with some extra loyalty available: 22 leader attacks on land farm plus 9 guerrilla strikes on any enemy empire is possible.

As you can see now, Indy is all about attacking for land  and then building barracks to aid away their production to keep costs low. They are crucial for breaking empires in clan settings. I wouldn't waste my time playing Indy solo. The costs get tremendous and leader player can murder it all away anyways.

Join UFA clan or private message #24. For 3 weeks I have been trying to mass rats solo but realized I cannot recall my troops from public. I need a clan mate, preferably Rat race to help break them. Ally clans have x3 Foreign Aid limit, while clan mates have x5 FA limit. Either way I need a partner to FA spam to keep costs low. 2 vs 1 but only 3 empires are running turns on the server from what I seen.

They are mostly food net from my understanding. It is incredibly difficult to protect land against Rat race and unlimited Foreign Aid in this game. We can eventually break them but it requires some cooperation. 22 hit limit is our biggest enemy if they stay solo. If they clan up we can leader suicide them.

Fun is subjective. But if ya want that land us 2 can do it.

Buying loyalty at $400 per loyalty for example: 100,000,000 loyalty = $40 billion. Exchange through Foreign Aid Empire 2 empire or can use middleman we both agree to.
