There are 2 different types of leader runs, a loyalty run and a producing run. A loyalty run is where you gather as much land as possible to produce the most amount of loyalty possible, and a producing run is using that loyalty to produce food or cash depending on wether your a wolf or marten.

1. Land -  Grab land from the bottom up, so your net doesn't get too high so you start losing troops, and you can also gain more net to reduce the amount lost attacking higher empires. If you need to heal while attack you should first build on the land you have gained from attacks, as your a leader you should build 100% huts (no foragers or markets as you can produce your own food and cash). Once you have built on the land and need to heal further, you can use the leader spell in generals hut "heal" which will heal 10% of your health. If your ratio isn't high enough or you don't have enough loyalty to use the spell, heal up by earning loyalty.

2. Preparing - Once attacking is done, you should have 100% huts, but with a low ratio due to all the attacks. This doesn't matter as this should get to a desired ratio once you've been attacked in between runs. When you've scraped enough land and you are happy with it, you should sell all troops to market and mercenaries to reduce your costs to as little as possible, then with your remaining turns, or at least most of them, you should use them earning loyalty. This will give you an optimum amount of leaders and a large amount of loyalty depending on the amount of land you had.

3. Producing - Now you have your leaders and loyalty, your ready to start producing. Before you use your loyalty and turns making food or cash, you should make sure your on or close to the desired ratio of 175 leaders per hut. If your over this from being attack too much, you can make an attack or 2 to put it straight, but doing this will loose you some leaders.  If you below it, you can destroy some huts and drop the land to get to the perfect ratio, for this you need to divide your amount of leaders by 175 and destroy huts till you have that many left. As a wolf producing food you should enrich once, meaning a 5% food bonus.
Now, once you are fully prepared you can spend 25 turns at a time making food, which will make the majority of your net.

4. Protecting - Now you have produce all that food you don't want it going to waste, do you? So, your first option is to put in on the market at either a reasonable price for good resale value, or a 25 the maximum amount so its practically a safe house for your food but at a 20% fee if you take it off. You can also use the spell raise shields to protect your food from poisoning, which is an easy way to destroy net. Your food isn't 100% at any time due to sacks, but thats a risk all wolfs take, but to prevent some sacks at the end of your run you can sell some of your food on the mercenaries for $9 and buy some troops, which can also be used to grab land at the beginning of your next run.
