The idiocy ASTOUNDED me. [EDIT] died, therefore, the book is bad. The thing with Cho Chang could have taken a better turn and coul;d have been shorter. Maybe it's just me, but She's losing her touch, Ms. Rowling.

The Lady Shael

Hey, um, I'd run if I were you. No spoilers. And that was a pretty big spoiler you just posted. There's still a lot of people here who haven't finished the book, you know.

Almkman

It is weird how he dies.I still haven't figured it out.
Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
  While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still
   Summer's heat or winter's cold
The seasons pass the years will roll
Time and change will surely show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!

Blackeyes

Dark days are coming my friends....... oh yes we are in trouble....

Almkman

I've finished but he didn't get hit by Avada Kedarva.
Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise

The Lady Shael

He did too. It might not say in the book, but there's no other killing spell, and he was definitely hit by a spell.

He got hit by red light not green.

The Lady Shael

The first jet of light was red, which he dodged out of the way. It wasn't clear what color the second jet of light was, but if it killed him it was definitely green.

Then why would Harry expect him to come out of the viel if he is dead?

The Lady Shael

Isn't disbelief quite obvious? Harry's cared about him a lot, he wouldn't want to believe right away that he died. That's the way it is in most stories. Lupin knew he died right away. Harry refused to believe he died because he didn't want to let go of "him".

Fine. But what's with the curtain and arch?

The Lady Shael

I'm not sure, it was just /there/. "He" fell through curtain, just on the other side. Nothing remotely spectacular. If just pull back the curtain, you'll see him. Or at least, that's how I looked at it.

Ah. Well, that part did confuse me, but I thought about it a bit, and I came up with that Luna's mom turned into a ghost when she died, and the voices Harry heard behind the curtain were Luna's parents, or maybe just her mom. Though what they were doing in the Department of Mysteries is beyond me.
