WE could soon be visited by TIME TRAVELLERS — thanks to a £2billion machine able to punch a HOLE in the universe.

The atom-smasher may open up a time tunnel for people from the future to travel back to now.

The particle accelerator, called the Large Hadron Collider, has been designed to explore the origins of the universe by investigating the tiniest components of atoms.

It is due to be switched on in May.



Big Bang boffin ... Dr Volovich

It will accelerate particles to the speed of light — then smash them together to recreate conditions from the first fraction of a second after the Big Bang, which created the universe.

But each particle — a trillionth the size of a mosquito — will create a shockwave distorting time and space around it.

And Russian mathematicians Igor Volovich and Irina Aref'eva say this may tear the fabric of the universe and result in a "wormhole" linking our time with the future.

Phantom
The laws of physics suggest that no one from the future will be able to travel back any further than when the machine was switched on — with 2008 being Year Zero.

Dr Volovich, of the Steklov Mathematical Institute in Moscow, reckons future technology may be advanced enough to send someone back through the time tunnel.

He told the magazine New Scientist: "If a combination of fast-moving particles and phantom energy does create a wormhole, an advanced civilisation could find it in their history books, pinpoint the moment — and take advantage of their technology to pay us a visit."



And some boffins think it may be possible for people of our time to travel years ahead — like TV Timelord Doctor Who.

The machine is based in a vast underground laboratory at the CERN particle physics centre in Geneva, Switzerland.



Do you really think this will be able to allow time travel. Quite blankly I think no, but it is regardless an interesting topic.

Rather hoped they'd put up more of a fight. 

Shut up for starters, I was the only armarda player fighting, I did not kill you even though the war was meant for kills. Secodnly, you didn't kill me, volkov did. Thirdly, you have nothing to brag about since you have almost made bob-sama leave. Absoultetly pathetic, infact beyond that. Until you quit picking on new players I am actually no longer going to refer to Alazar as Alazar..but the noob bullier instead.

Anyone here on turbo will see that there's someone called tom the fox near the bottom, in the near future *crosses fingers* hopefully he will advertise us on youtube, but no promises, however for now there's this on his bulletin:

I am wondering what you all think of the fan site I and the armarda made, it's not finished and members this round will keep being updated. And please be serious with the votes, I know thats weird coming from me...but yeah.

Alright I think now it's time I say what happened now that Erikan have fallen I give you all the truth about what happened:
Merrick and thornclaw had been members of the armarda the previous round, they had got us into several scrapes and we defended them, then they ditched us high and dry, origanally it wasn't my intention to go to war but bears, however being wrecked can change someones mind. Pretty much viper wasn't atually a member of we win! he was atually a spy despatched by pip. For a long time we were able to stay a step ahead of erikan however pip decided to kill viper so no one suspected, which evantually bobbysmith did.
Then we finally put a bounty up.
The day I was planning to make peace with th break off they left me under 3k land, thus I made merrick into a toy, however like all toys he broke so I disposed of him, since tac was never in the armarda I did not origanally want to kill him but him and merrick wrecked me (they're real life friends) so I reconsidered. Martin and reven were finishing him so I left them to it, I'd just sent off like 7mil loyalty to martin so he shouldn't have had much trouble.
  Not to mention the fact merrick and thornclaw both made doubles to get me and bear back. If you don't believe me check the disabled list, then I get this crap from shade merely because he was faling to intimadate me:

It is a hard choice however since I own a wii that's proarbly my faviroute, xbox360 are great and so are PS3 just a little (well a lot) overpriced.

Merrick left the armarda with thornclaw, who got disabled for double accounts, he claimed the armarda had *to many rules* and rebbeled making the clan We win! Or Erikan as they prefer to call it, the armarda is willing yo give a bounty of for his death:

I don't usually aprove of assasinating but they didn't tell us they left and we figured by looking at scores. Traitors deserve death. If they would've said I might be more forgiving...also merrick and thornclaw had been causing trouble last round as well as this round, especially with Bregan D'aerthe. Viper dead would be bonus but it's merrick I'm really after.

on regular sharptooh (294) is my brother, I've giving him some hints and he's BRILLIANT and stratergy (he's a boff lol) but he's a nice guy and would appreciate any hints. He doesn't go on the forums and is generally peaceful apart from land-grabbing (unlike me :wink:)

? A lone, Russet fox with a grey tail travelled along the dusty path. A rusty sword hung loosely from his battered belt, a long scar was sliced in a almost playful manner across his forehead.
? "Curse Skinner's fat mouth!" he spat, a few hours ago he had been serving the Marten warlord in battle, but when he saw the tide of the battle turned he fled. A huge ginger tom called Firetooth and his friend Bluetooth the destroyer had been savaging the army, the fox had been lucky to get away with his life.
? ?"Dang it, Twotounge, you were better as a lowly slaver!" Twotongue spat savagely as he kicked up more dust as he travelled along, the cut along his brow was obviously troubling him.

? ? The young wildcat opened his aching eyes, his sword was in his hand, blood-coated, but still intact. Corpses of rats, stoats, any vermin imaginable littered the floor. Skinner the wild Marten wanted what Bramblefire the Wilcat warrior owns, and he would have to fight for it.
As Bramblefire walked accross the corpses, he groaned, he recognized his childhood frind, Bluetooth the Warrior, a huge badger, lying unmoving.
? ? ? Bluetooth was dead. Bramblefire's best friend was gone. He wiped crimson blood off his tunic and sheathed his sword, suddenly, the sun shone brigtly, making his ginger fur, even though matted, shine like a fire.
"I will add some of your name to mine, my friend" vowed Bramblefire "from this day I vow to never use a sword again, only my claws and teeth, from now on my name will be Firetooth, the complete destroyer of the weak, destroyer of my enimes, more powerful then death"
? Firetooth was no ordinary cat. He was the size of a lion, his claws were as big as daggers, his teeth as sharp as swords, he didn't need his sword anymore, it could be Bluetooth's gravestone. A tear fell from his eye but he brushed it away quickly. The horror Firetooth had witnessed had changed him forever, from a kind, loving creature to a savage warlord, he held tighter on to the amulet Skinner wanted off him.
