This could have many meanings:

1. Your cat is an alcoholic.
2. It comes from a long like of Plonks.
3. It makes a plonky sound when you try to bounce it
4. Pop goes the weasel, but plonk goes the cat.
5. Plonky Wonky.

I've never like animals with honorifics so name it Something Else. You'll just end up calling it "kitty" anyways.

Yeah, I've been calling it 'Cat' for years, I just thought it was time that it acquired a name...and a gender.

That comic is the truth. You should hear me talking to my cat. I've stopped using actual words and now just use a series of 'miaow's. Either that or I repeat the noises it makes.

Firetooth is a more catish name, specially for a cat like that. It'd have to be bright pink to be called Shadow :P

Here's a cat update: I gave it some catnip and it attacked my arm in a drunken rage. I'm bleeding. Maybe it doesn't deserve a name after all...
