i just found a guy attempting to create a great rwl rpg game, early stages but he seems to know a fair bit on how to make it.

For a second there, I thought it was going to be the BenjyWright guy. But thats really recent. I hope that RPG goes through. The last guy who tried to make one abandoned it. :(

What program would you use to make a game like that?

EDIT: I think his main abbey building needs work. I dont think Great Hall & everythingcould fit in a building that shape.

Early days yet, Im not sure what programme hes using but looks quite nice. I might direct him to redwall warlords for some inspiration and possibly some new players could be drawn here :)

I recall seeing this kind of thing on a YouTube channel a long time ago but it looked as though it had been abandoned. This gives me hope that there are much more Redwall games than I supposed originally! And more importantly, quality Redwall games. A different Redwall MMORPG is being planned here:

And furthermore my friends and I are even discussing a 3D Redwall real-time strategy game (wobsite coming soon).

Ontopic: This looks very nice. I checked the blog and was astounded. All that in just a few days? How much free time does this guy have? o.0

The Lady Shael

Welcome to the forums, Sowinov. :)

I think the guy is in college (he's been posting on the redwallabbey.com forums), plus he's probably on his summer break. But it definitely is impressive that he did all that in just a few days.

That's great to hear there's other people out there working on a 3D Redwall game. There's definitely a great demand for one in the fanbase. The hardest part for everyone will be committing to finishing the project though.  ;)

RWLers, your wish is my command...as long as it complies with the rules.

Definitely. Saddest thing about fan projects is that they abandon too quickly. Interestingly, though, open source software seems to hold together more. Perhaps because of a larger community, or perhaps just because surviving OSS is easier to find than abandoned OSS. But the great thing about fan projects/OSS is that even if they're abandoned, they're never lost: eventually, if the authors become re-interested, they can continue work on the game immediately.

Oh. Anyways, there's not much more to say about the topic except the comments on the insane of work/time ratio. Usually it's the opposite :P
