I have changed my indy strategy imensly.... My point is that as an indy, you cannot make any progress run to run, unless you have someone buy all of your troops off of the market every run. It's not worth it to support yourself and sell to mercs.

If you are absolutely set on not raising the merc prices then i beg you to consider the reserves like in faf, or something to that extent... Maybe even "sending a limited amount of troops out on a special mission and coming back 100 turns later" for a loyalty cost or something.

And the fact of the matter with the market thing is, you can never really stop people from passing troops over it...If you make your troops automatically appear at the market then that only fuels the way to go around the aid limits(duh!?).

Firetooth, conveinent that you chop that quote, and don't include the part about you saying the words butt bag. My question was never answered and Sharptoothy said it again. A butt bag cleans a vagina, and you are saying those words on a site that is pg-13 at best, if you two are going to constantly kiss butt to the community and the admins you may as well act respectable and find better words to express your anger...tut tut.

Sharpy, you must be sadly mistaken on who I am, because I believe I have a 20% something defense ratio currently. And I also believe I have been ranked above you since like day two of the month...

Say whatever you want to about sevz, he is an butt? Well no poo sherlock! He is cocky and arrogant? WHO DOESN'T know that? He is probably  the best player at this place, and he has always defended me, helped me whether I asked or not, and never once betrayed me. I have lead plenty of teams in the past, because of the caliber of players I chose my alliance with over the years, I have kinda been sitting in the shadows. Snare will tell you, Obliterator if he was still here, sevz will tell you, shade would tell you, i don't remember who else I really played with, but the point remains.

Anddddddd, just because I stick up for sevz doesn't mean I am following him, and not being a leader and all that nonsense. Look up some old UMD threads, I have no problem being the only one with an opinion against 10 others, because im not all wishy washy like you losers.

Shadow, are you trying to force everyone to do exactly as you want them too? Who cares, if we don't clan up and work together? I was unaware about the market situation being abuse...I mean, you can do that anywhere. People have done that since the dawn of time. Want to fix that? Or at least kind of fix that? Make a unanimous market.

Is Sevz bound to give feedback? Does he have a contract or something? No, everyone knows he is competitive, and if he chooses to keep his secrets hidden to his enemies, or other people then so be it. Shads, you need to end this communist regime you are trying to put into power.

And for the last time Firetooth and Sharptooth, get off of your duck high horses, you two are ridiculous the way you run around trying to be police and kiss butt all the time.

Sevz has been helping me more this round then I have been helping him, to be 100% honest. Does learning the game really matter whether you have access to 10k land rather then 100k land? No, if you really are that big of a noob, then it doesnt matter how much land you have. If you are focused on just learning about this server then your score really shouldnt matter. Whether or not Sevz is providing feedback himself or Shadow has to go on his account he is helping find things to be fixed.

Everyone has to be so god darn hateful over this "internet rats" all the time. Who gives a rats butt if sevz is working with 10 people, all the more props to him for organizing his alliances. (Duh?)

Then you go and gag Sevz because he says something against the admins and attack Snare? Did anyone not see what firetooth was posting? Douchebag? When did that become appropriate for this website, where was the warning there?

I lose more and more faith all the time.

you need to remember that your perception of indy as weak is in relation to what it used to be - all strategies are a lot weaker than they were, not just indy, so the real difference is mostly in your head.

please don't simulate swears on the forums

I do run a lot of markets for the first half of my run... It still doesnt keep up though... I understand that everything is weaker, but unless you want to destroy indy completely as a strategy, you need to give it at least a little better reselling ability.

fyi, you can use the heal buff to get to 100 health even at high tax

I am not "pure indying" by any means. I build about 40-50% tents, 10-20% huts usually and then the rest I divide out. Im not using many barracks. I am managing to run, but just barely. You may as well take indy completely out of the game, if you cant resell at all. Its effin ridiculous. If you don't fix or improve some of the points I have told you about then I just wont be using an indy race...

The times you peaked at my account were when I wasnt running then, because when I run turns I run 25-50% tax usually, 30% most of the time, and just 11% at the end to heal to 100%.

If you don't want to raise the merc prices, then there should be some way to store your troops, like the reserves feature at faf, or you should also be able to pull them back off the market. If you are trying to cut indy completely out of the game as a viable strategy then just say so, but the way its set up now just isnt going to work. I can't expect to sell all the troops I put on the market everytime, and if they dont sell, then in order to run turns I will just be going backwards... I understand that in 3.0 indy strategies have to change(a lot), but the game is currently set up to make indies depend on other players entirely!

My impressions of the game so far are as follows. First off I think that the mercenary sell prices need to go up. I have been selling Everything that i put on the market every time, and that has been the only reason I have been able even run turns really. Everyone has such high defenses all the time because of how important the land is, which I do think is good, but then I have to hold on to the troops I have longer and that really destroys the rest of my run. Because of the merc prices I can't recover any of those losses. Maybe when you look into race specific spells, the indy races could get a raise sell prices spell, or something...

I am not sure how crazy about it I am yet, even though I think I am doing well so far. I am still getting a feel for it and micro managing more and more to make certain ends meet, but I think that its necessary for the mercenary prices to at least double.

And...What is the math that goes into taking cities from people?

The Fire clan was rather inactive as a whole, including myself. I tried to run a farmer, and indy, but everything i sent away was destroyed. People were idiots with it, we had a very inexperienced team, and had we won the round it would have been embarrassing for ice. With being in forced clans and how sack works now a days it was hard for leader players to get anywhere on their own. In the beginning we had barely any indys compared to the ice clan.

Sevs by no means was imcompetent this round, he actually made attempts at trying to bring the team together while snowy fir trolled him constantly on the forums.
