Title: A new RP
Post by: Deathclaw on February 16, 2003, 04:18:29 PM
This RP is cheese haters against cheese. Rules are set in stone:

1. No invincible armor (God-mode). Armor and shields are allowed, but they must be penetrable.
2. Limit of 500,000 soldiers
3. Weapons must be Redwall type weapons (scimitars, dirks, bows/longbows, slings, tridents, javelins, spears, flaming arrows, etc. No guns/bombs.
4. No genocide, or mass murdering (EX: Trapping half a million troops in a valley and burning them with flaming logs).
5. No making your vermins' weapons more advanced to give them an edge, or anything else to that affect.
6. NO SPAMMING
7. No killing of an army without their consent in a post
8. If a protest is made concerning this thread, it must be sent through a PM. I have the right to overturn events, but it must be within reason to overturn it.

If you have an idea for a rule I have forgotten, then PM me with it.

Please include all the details of your army in your introductory post. No changes can be made. Include whether you are in the coalition against cheese or the armies fighting for it. If you think a change is fit, then please, before making that change, contact me and let me decide if it is nescessary. Include all weapons used in your horde and what type of vermin are in it, etc. Whatever we need to know.

If you start to participate, please play it out unless there is no way you can. If it comes to that, your horde and its actions become void and forgotten.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My army:

The army of Jason the Assassin, also known as Deathclaw the Conqueror, is a mighty band of 500,000 vermin. They carry assorted weapons: spears, javelins, dirks, bows/longbows, slings, swords, pikes, battleaxs, cutlasses, maces, flails, and daggers. The shrew sentry guard is armed with rapiers. They guard the camp during the night and are in the outer flanks of the marching columns for their keen senses. The archer regiment is led by Fletch Longbow, a squirrel with command of 50,000 trained archers, but all vermin can be called in to use their skills with a bow, as they are all trained in the skill of archery. Snipe Coldblood is a second in command of the archer squad, and is a good asset to the army. The crew consists of shrews, rats, ferrets, weasels, stoats, hares, otters, badgers, and even a council of moles for their logic and digging skills. The shrews are not only on guard duty, but serve in the naval branch and propel any skiff available in naval assaults. All soldiers are highly loyal and intelligent. They wear full body armor that is very useful and protective, yet light. They have the mark of The Assassin: a single flaming arrow, emblazened on both sides of their breast plates, and on the back of their helmets in a smaller version than the one on their breast plates. They strive to rid the lands of cheese. Once they do this, they will set a permanent base. They have a mountain stronghold, now being held by an ally of theirs to avoid its capture until they return. Scouts and runners (or gallopers) are also an asset to the army. They are usually not defeated in battle, and if so, by a small margin, and they always come back for revenge. Tactics are a way of life in a battle. Also, shrews alternate on cooking duty and sentry duty. A vixen also makes up a part of the army. A poisoner assists in many stealth operations.

I lead the Coalition to Rid the Lands of Cheese, or CRLC. Join if you wish, or rebel against my cause. Rebel insurgency will not be tolerated in this matter. Death to cheese!

*Kilkenne's forces of 450,000 mix with those of Deathclaw as they sweep with him through the mass campsite. 200,000 of them are armed with short stabbing spears, 50,000 with longbows and enough arrows to supply them through several battles, 100,000 carry battle-axes and swords, and the other hundred thousand carry maces, flails, or scimitars. The huge army of only ferrets and the 50,000 stoat archers are all armoured differently in proportion to their weapon.*

-Spear carriers - Light plate armour on all but joints, covering a slightly heavier leather underlayer. Their helmets cover the backs of their neck and come around, but have the face open. Carry light wood shields that are round and black.

-Archers - Simply the leather underlayer with a chain mail coif for the head.

-Battle-axe/Swords - Full plate armour over the same leather underlayer, with a slightly heavier helmet than that of the spear carriers, also carry shields. This armour is taken off during marching. Carry iron shields that are..well...shield shaped (from the end period of the medieval times) and are the darkest of black.

-Others - Armour of choice.

*The warlord makes his way to Deathclaw's tent and throws open the flap, letting himself in. He nods slightly to the guards before he speaks to his ally*

"When are we to march? My forces are prepared, and I've left fifty thousand in reserve a few days behind us in case they're needed..."

note:  I've never really tried this before, so if I stink at rping, then...  heh, sorry...

hmm...  My army is comprised of 20, yep, 20 soldiers.  Five fully grown adders are part of my army, and they use their streanth, speed, and venom...  They are covered with a fine chain mail.
The other 15 members of my force are foxes, armed with javelins, throwing sticks for the javelins, and longbows with poisin tipped arrows.  (this is part of redwall, so it doent give my army any special advantage...  yep)  Their armor is nada, they are clothed in light brown bark-cloth, making them seem to dissapear into the woodlands.

My army goes by the name Windhounds, I am windhound, a silver fox and commander of my small force...  I rebel against the CRLC and fight for cheese...  using strike and flight tactics I wear away at much stonger foes...

"My scouts should be returning by nightfall tonight or noontide tomorrow. When they report to me on the location of the enemy, you and I will lay out our battle plans and march the following day. I plan to capture them in a ridge and pick them off until my archers are running low on arrows. Then, on either side, 250,000 from each of our armies flood in on them. I will assign 50,000 troops to guard the east and west from escapees, and no prisoners are to be taken. It will be an easy ride.... if they are camping in a ridge, or can be forced down there. Talk to my shrews. They can find you a sturdy tent to accomodate you, and I am sure you have enough housing for your ferrets."

With that, Jason the Assassin, pointed out a shrew to Kilkenne.

"Talk with him. He'll unload a tent I have in reserve. I expected your arrival."

The shrew in question had a rapier in his belt, and his customary shield bearing the symbol marking his loyalty to Deathclaw's army: the lone flaming arrow.

Upon hearing Kilkenne's question, he went to the army's supply stockade and set up a sturdy tent, much like that of Deathclaw's. He put a cot in it, some sheets, a pillow, and a desk. He showed Kilkenne a secret fall out drawer for his weapon and shield.

Deathclaw sat, sharpening his scimitar, eager to launch an assault in the near future. He awaited a report back.

Nightfall...

The scouts returned.
The first hare spoke: "We encountered a cheese encampment. twenty troops. No, I'm not kidding. Adders, full grown, five of the blighters. Fifteen foxes. Camping in a ridge... it is hidden by woodlands on two sides, and shaded by small trees and bushes on one... the other leans inward and they are camped under it, no traces of them in open view. Not too far from here. They could be reached in a short period of time."

"Good. Dismissed."
The hares both left, going to one of the campfires. Deathclaw went to Kilkenne.
"Apparently there is a camp of five adders and fifteen foxes not far from here. My mission will be to send out archers and kill as many of the adders as possible, but remain unseen. I'll either leave you in charge of the camp for a day or my second in command. Do you wish to accompany me, or do you want to stay at camp and keep order in the troops?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE:

You make it hard, Windhounds... can you acquire some more troops... I should've set a minimum.

New rule: Besides Windhounds, because he made his army before this rule, your army must consist of at least 50,000 troops. Windhounds has the right to increase his troop numbers, because too few troops makes it hard to attack the enemy.

Another rule recently added applies to all: In attacks, you cannot lose 0 troops. The only way is if you snipe down a couple troops, and even then it is preferred you lose some troops.

 "Thank you, my friend."

*Kilkenne follows the shrew to his tent and sits on the cot, polishing his scimitars for the action to be had tomorrow or maybe the next day. He continues making them shine as Deathclaw arrives and tells his information. The ferret does not look up as he speaks, and merely looks at his reflection in the shinging blade.*

"Only that many, eh? Hm...I'll accompany you, some of my better archers are more than likely having competition with your strike force, as always, so you can grab as many as you like, you're the brains of this operation. If anything goes wrong, which I presume it will not, I'm bringing ten swordsbeasts along, just in case our position is comprimised."

*Looks up at Deathclaw, grinning slightly as he rises, strapping both scimitars to his back in a professional manner.*

"Lead on..."

muttering distractedly, windhound moved his band throughout the woods, absorbing more creatures under his command.  He was just informed that a major force is moving against cheese and more troops will be a must.  In addition to his original 20, stoats, rats, ferrets, and even a few birds were joining.  In the space of a week Windhounds had expanded to include 80,000 troops, all miss-matched and unruley, but completly dedicated to the cause of cheese.
Cheezebeak, a sparrow,  was placed incharge of the main force, while windhound maintained complete control of his chosen few, 100 foxes with their wepons of choice and 20 adders.

looking out from a vantage point, he viewed the combined armys of Deathclaw and Kilkenne with apprehenson.  Would his small force beable to make even a dent into the teeming masses below?

After consulting his second in command and detailing him on his job, and gathering five archers, one being Fletch Longbow, they started off, with Kilkenne, the archers, and Kilkenne's swordbeasts. The scouts knowing the location of the camp had drawn up a map. Using it, they soon found the camp. Their plan was to circle around until they could see the enemy. Doing this, Deathclaw conversed with Kilkenne.
"Your swordbeasts should stand behind my archers and be ready for battle. We want to hit the enemy swiftly and return to camp."
With this, Deathclaw signalled to Fletch.
Fletch said, "Pick your targets. Two adders in the open and two foxes. Apparently they are cooking. Shoot them and we'll back off. I'll shoot at a tent and try to get somebeast that way."
They selected targets and awaited orders.

Note not to do with post: I just dropped a coke on my foot.

Back to post:

"Ready! Set! Fire!" whispered the master archer.
Four arrows hit targets. The fifth struck a cot. Windhounds' cot. He grabbed his weapon and crept to the other tents, awaking his troops.
"There they go!"
A mad chase went on, but eventually Windhounds called it off. Returning to camp, he stared at the transfixed figured. Two adders lay dead on the ground. The foxes had fell into frying pans, the faces burning. They were disposed of. Posting sentries, Windhounds slumbered, maddened by the attack on his camp. Four dead, and they slayed not a single one! He knew that wasn't the last he would see of that army, either. Not by a long shot.

This was made before you posted that last post... you slipped in...

note:  hmm... thought I made it clear that Windhounds, capital W and plural, is the name of the horde, and windhound, not capital and singluar, is the commander of the Windhounds....  yep...  further of note is that it really doesnt matter that you didnt notice my previous post, as it makes little difference...

Quite angered by the attack of the anti-cheesers upon his camp, windhound gathered his select few and strode off into the woods.  It wasnt long before he found the mass army of Deathclaw and Kilkenne.  He found the camp slumbering peacefully, and only a few senteries posted, most of whom slumbered on duty.  windhound sniggered to himself, an easy target.  Thanking the fates that the two foxes that were killed were not of his special command, he had his band of 100 fox archers notch arrows to their bows.  One hundred shafts flew into the enemy camp.  windhound withdrew swiftly, not waiting to see how many had been sent to the dark forest by the silent strike.

Arriving back at the main camp, he woke everyone quietly and moved off at double time to a more remote location.

Note: Actually, I have all my shrews on watch, so that attack shouldn't have suceeded.

Deathclaw awoke with a start... he had just been attacked. He lost fourteen of his 75,000 shrews... oddly enough, an attack suceeded when he had thousands and thousands of shrews on watch. He set off with Kilkenne and 100,000 at his back. Seeing windhounds ahead and moving away fast, he got closer and had 10,000 archers fire into his ranks. Striking down thousands, he had them reload and wait. They withdrew into the bushes and trees, unseen, unheard, unknown. They would wait until they turned around, then the archers would unloose 200 shafts into their terror-stricken faces.

As they turned, Deathclaw yelled: "Now!"

Two hundred arrows were shot, and about half hit. Some were injured in both attacks; some killed.
Deathclaw called a challenge: "Fight me. Stop this arrow fight and fight me paw to paw."
Deathclaw awaited a reply, shield up and crouched, munching on a pear.

note:  all 75,000 of your shrews gaurded, what, almost a bil combined troops?  yeah, right, my attack succeeded, and 100 arrows would have killed more than 14 shrews, but whatever...

windhound heard Deathclaw's challenge, but he sniggered in reply.  "Go and boil your head, we'll wait for you ahead."

The previously appointed leaders of the Windhounds separated their commands from the main body, and soon hundreds of groups of about 200 troops each spread out in different directions.  windhound gathered what he could of his group of archers, which amounted to 78, and ran ahead, knowing that no creature could outrun foxes.  He and his band raced ahead, then cut out at a tangent, and then made a half circle back.  Soon they were behind the enemy army.  Quietly, all separated off in pairs, with bows at the ready.  many a foe would die before this ended.

The adders were in their element.  Slithering about the opposing army, they struck faster than wepons could strike, and soon thousands were mortally wounded with the deady venom, with many more targets running about.  It was a good day to be an adder.

Suddenly, arrows transfixed the adders, killing them. From behind, 400,000 troops left at camp attacked the groups, who retreated like wild. Then, a thousand pikes lunged at the archers, killing all but 34. They disarmed those and killed five of them until the remaining 29 escaped. Three thousand of windhound's soldiers died. All but 200,000 of Deathclaw's forces drew back out of weapon reach. The foxes were fast, but the scouts and runners were faster, and so were the squirrels. Shooting arrows dabbed with poison, death fell to 103 foxes and 9 other animals. Every troop returned to camp except Deathclaw and the archer squad, who kept up a constant barrage of arrows at the retreating Windhounds. Killing three more thousand before leaving, Deathclaw began to devise a plan.... a great plan.

note:  I get tired of posting info that should be obvious.  "Then, a thousand pikes lunged at the archers, killing all but 34."  the archers spread out in groups of 2s, the "pikers" would be hard pressed to kill all but 34, much less capture the 34 remaining.  "foxes were fast, but the scouts and runners were faster"  foxes are the best at speed, you cant deny that, surely weasels and ferrets and such cannot outrun an animal that was made for speed?  squirrels maybe, but few other.  My army dispersed in groups of 200, there is no realistic way that your army could possibly track down enough to kill 3 thousand, then to kill 3 thousand more of my retreating forces?  they were spread out, 3000 could not be killed by arrows at once.   My creativeness has left me to be replaced by discust.  You took the easy way out, you dont always have to win.  goodnight all.

EDIT:  oh, and you said you killed all my adders?  The entire army of King Sargano (spelling) found it rather difficult to kill one female adder, the fact that you killed 18 or so at once is quite surprising.

Hares and squirrels are faster. I won because I had 400,000 troops splitting up and attacking you. Also, 3000 is plausable, I have 60,000 archers. I have won some battles and you have won one or two. I haven't one them all.

Fine. I didn't kill all your adders. Your army was so high and mighty in that scenario, though. You had 3 adders, at least I thought you did. The ones I hadn't killed...

Now to my military actions:

In the middle of the night, Deathclaw snuck into the enemy camp with eighty thousand troops and a few extra troops, including the poisoner. Silently, he went into an adder's tent. Gently, the poisoner injected him with a liquid to make him go unconscious. Then, he relieved him of his venom sacs and fangs. He grinned. So far, the plan was working. He did this to each and every adder. The venom sacs would be used later in further plans already devised. Once that was done, Deathclaw told his troops to remove weapons from all of the tents except windhound's. As they did this, Deathclaw knew the enemy would need 80,000 weapons tomorrow. Halfway through, a fox stirred. Quickly stabbing him in the heart, he was dragged away into the woodlands to avoid any knowledge of attack. They would only notice the weapons were missing and the adders' fangless and venomless mouths. Removing the weapons from the enemy's paw, they would silently retreat away. Once all the weapons were taken, they moved away from camp. Deathclaw put the fangs at the door of windhound's tent, and padded off to join his troops in returning to camp. All was well in the life of a conqueror. He knew that it would take a long time to acquire the amount of needed weapons. Only one weapon remained in camp: That of windhound. A good plan, indeed.

The adders awoke early that morning, each with a terrible headache, and slithered out quietly, gliding towards the camp of the anti-cheesers.  Each carried 1 million units of cheese on carts which they towed behind them.  Upon reaching enemy camp, the picked up speed abruptly, gliding swiftly through the huge camp.  The cheese was spread all over, and some of the newer soldiers tried some.  Most decided that they liked it and at once deserted the anti-cheesers, heading for the camp of the Windhounds.
When windhound awoke later, he found many more troops, many bearing the sign of Deathclaw on their armor and weapons.  windhound was very confused, but quite pleased to see the new recruits, which totaled 100,000, each bringing with them armor and wepons.  windhound took his new army southwards abruptly, fearing that Deathclaw and Kilkenne would not take the loss of their troops lightly.

note:   :P   disable my adders will you?  fine, take that!  I dont care anymore, and I apologise for complaining earlier. :)

As he watched the meeting with Ashyra Nightwing, he decided that he might make his presence known, and possibly offer his assistance.
"I have runners that can and will be dispatched to your forces away, for we shall need them now to help defeat the great evil anti-cheesers that hope to do away with all cheese.  I am windhound, and my small force of around 165,000 await in the hills to march for cheese."

To even out things a bit, 200,000 badgers came marching through the woods, stopping at the rear of Windhound's forces. Amongst them was a gigantic, badger with no stripes. He was wearing light chain mail, extremely hard to pirce. He carried a double-headed battle ax, and he was smiling, coldly. Then he made a signal with his paw. 50,000 diamond-headed arrows came speeding out of the wood, coming three inches from Jason's feet. Then emerged 50,000 weasels, and behind them 150,000 foxes. Armed to the teeth with swords, pikes, spears, lances, bows, sabres, and daggers, they stood. Waiting for movement. One of Jason's archers twitched. He was instantly slain, as were the 19 comrades of his next to him. "Oops", the badger remarked casually, "My archers usually have better aim than that. Pity." Quick as a flash, the army was away, just barely in range of Jason's forces. Two were slain, a meager amount. The badger laughed as he sped off, wondering if this would even be a challenge.

 Deathclaw's forces in windhound's camp...

Deathclaw had predicted such a move. The troops in windhound's camp would revolt. It was middle of night.
"Now!"
The forces rushed out stabbing any enemy near. Hiding behind thousands of foxes, windhound's ordered them about.
"Their moving to the left! Fill up that gap. HURRY!"
The woodlands became alive with archers. They picked off the foxes and took shots at the elusive adders. They struck a few, killing two. About a thousand foxes fell. Deathclaw lost a few hares, about twenty otters and badgers, and about one hundred shrews. The few weapons the enemy had were made recently and were few in number... about fifty bows and some number of arrows, and about one hundred to two hundred assorted spears and javelins. The large battle wasn't to take place yet... Deathclaw still had time. A rough thirty or so foxes surrendered and were dragged off to camp... and pushed into a nearby extinct volcano with hard rock at the bottom, hundreds of thousands of feet down. The few weapons were taken or destroyed, leaving the Windhound's defenseless, yet again.

Later...

A messenger was sent to Kazaar. His message was:

"Dear friend,

My army opposes cheese, and you have claimed neutrality. I come to change your status in this cause. I have a combined 1,000,000 troops in my camp... those of two armies. I wish to add your army to my cause. The Coalition to Rid the Lands of Cheese, or CRLC, is made of mighty and bold warriors and two brave and powerful leaders. Together and united, cheese shall forever perish! I ask that you join our cause and fight the cheese rebellion in the area.

Best Regards,

~Jason the Assassin
~Deathclaw the Conqueror

To address Razorclaw's attack:

Five thousand grown otters crept up on the attacker's camp. Snoozing happily, they were unaware of their soon-to-be bad fortune. Creeping in the bushes, the otters pulled out longbows and used a meager amount of the adder poison, considering how much they had, to use with their arrows. Selecting targets, the Skipper, a name given to all otter Chieftains, gave a signal. Five thousand lethal arrows zipped through the air. Not bothering to see how many were dead, the otters stole back to their camp and reported a successful mission to Deathclaw. He nodded and dismissed them, knowing it wasn't over, unless Razorclaw would ask for a cease fire. Then they would be even, and stop for the period of time agreed upon. Deathclaw doubted this to happen.

This is not spam but I am addressing the issue of 200,000 badgers and I wish to seperate it from my attacking...

Yes, 200,000 badgers does seem to be almost invincible. I believe that it calls for this action:

Your army does not consist of 200,000 badgers. I doubt that this many could be rounded up without revolt. Therefore, you must split your troops into other types of animals.

I would like to reiterate that if something seems unfair, PROTEST.
I saw Kilkenne's statement as a possible protest. PM me if possible. Then I can post a copy of the message and my ruling. Thank you.

Razorclaw, if you wish to protest my ruling, PM me and give me your case.

 The messenger returned:

"Their attacks had no honor, so we returned the favor. I do not have rats. You heard wrong."

In response to windhound:

I stole your weapons a few hours before, so how could you be armed? It's just not possible.

My troops were admitted on the basis that they hate cheese because my army is set to destroy cheese. If they liked cheese, they wouldn't join an anti-cheese group, now would they? Kilkenne's forces are seperate, so I am within the rules.

windhound sighed in resignition.  He turns to his devistated army.
"We fought for the honor of cheese, yet the foe is too strong.  We retreat now, but we shall return..."
Yet, as a final sign, evey soldier was ordered to make a makeshift bow and 5 arrows a piece.  Fires were started, arrows ignited, and more than 300,000 flaming arrows flew into Deathclaw's camp.
With that, the Windhounds turned from the direction of their foes and marched off, tripple time.  Knowing that Deathclaw's force could not possibly raise up and follow them while tending to injuries and mending tents, the Windhounds turned farther south, towards the lands of cheese where even the most dedicated anti-cheese army would never follow.  They hoped to meet with Ashyra Nightwing's force there, and then they would be a force to be reconned with.

*Kilkenne, having retreated his forces had his leaders take a count of their battallions, all subcommanders reported to commanders, and so on, and on to him. His recent loss estimates were not surprising to him, having lost just more then 35,000 soldiers, though he would have lost more had he not retreated around the side. He had dispatched his messengers back to the North to gather more soldiers as his began digging in the fortification. First done was a simple motte and bailey castle, done in short time, but on a grand scale. All tent supplies were used, and labor from the North was brought in to work. Within 4 days a massive fortification was up, and the motte and bailey was recieving stone from a nearby quarry and they were building a stone foundation around, it, making a classic castle. He sat in a tent near the center, confident that, as he built it on high ground, there would be no unseen archer attacks.*

-The advisor entered- "M'lord we should probably-"

*Kilkenne raised up a paw for silence* "Burn the surrounding forests, we must have a clear field of view."

-The advisor was astonished, and he bowed and silently headed out.-  *Within an hour, the forests were ablaze, and by the next morning, they were nothing but smoldering ruin.*

*Kilkenne laughed as his army was re-bolstered to 450,000, in the same allotments, and he could see them drilling in and out of the fortification. The Emperor laughed the laugh of triumph as he sent a messenger to Deathclaw bearing this message---*

"Deathclaw -

By now you are aware of my stronghold near the cheese borders, you are invited to come and build onto the castle your own section. I have quarters waiting for you inside, and if your troops contribute to defense, we will be safer than safe can be. Patrols are to be sent out, and none in the surrounding land will kill without punishment.

~Kilkenne, Emperor of the North

"

*All he had to do was await the messenger and await his fort's completion...*

Woodlanders from all over flee the buring woods, some joining up with the pro-cheese army of the Windhounds.  The burning of the forrest seemed a very cruel and evil thing to do, thus turning many against the anit-cheesers.

Scouts were sent out to determine the strenth of the threat that followed them, and upon reporting back, windhound was saddened to learn that Kilkenne's forces were back in the picture.  Once again slightly less than a million troops would be fighting against the pro-cheesers.
"windhound, Kilkenne has constructed a fortress, too close for comfort to the cheese lands.  What are we to do?"  a scout said upon returing.
windhound sighed, then replied, "We shall wait for them to make the first move, rearming ourselves as we do.  Post senturies, and have an hourly check done to ensure none are sleeping on the job, we will have no more nighttime raids.  Send out foraging parties, we will need a good amount of food as well.  Soon we may be able to construct a fortification of our own, but it will take time and careful planning,  we must not be caught off gaurd again."

Leading his mass force in, Deathclaw quickly add his army working. In a short amount of time, he had started a fortress made for the purpose of defense, but also with many strategic offensive plans built in to it, complete with underground safe houses. Sentries would be posted in guard towers and behind battlements. The sturdy oak doors could not be destroyed easily, and the gatehouse was protected from enemy capture. It was a mighty fortress, just waiting to defend the enemy.

windhound paced up and down his small tent.  Deathclaw's forces had arrived sooner than he had predicted.  This would mean that they were no longer safe, such a large gathering would not stay inactive for long.

A meeting of woodlanders and the Windhounds brought the planning of fort Cheesedom.  The fort would provide shelter for all thoes displaced by Kilk's burning of the woods and a camp for the forces of the Windhounds.  It would include high walls to discourage the foe from climbing and all stone interrior buildings so nothing would burn.  The only wood used for the exterior would be for the main door, and this was to be kept moist at all times.  The main door would be short and narrow, allowing only a limmited number to pass at the same time.

Construction began immediatly, and only a few days had passed when the outer walls had been completed, without major incident.  A stone quarry had been dug only a short distance away from the site to make transporting the stone easier and to also provide close shelter for the few remaining adders, whom the woodlanders distrusted immensely.

*Smiles as he finishes his letter and places it in the care of a messenger to be sent to Windhound himself.*

Warlord Windhound,

Let us cease this war now...Though you may think that most hordes are undisciplined and "worthless" I'll have you know any two of my fighters could kill one of your pathetic adders...every day they just get stronger, and faster. You don't stand much of a chance attacking, and I think that sheer weight of numbers could starve you out of your fort in a matter of weeks. Your only option is to A) Retreat to the south, or B) Disclaim loyalty to the cause of cheese, and destroy all cheese stores in open sights of my armies, something a cheese leader would never do...

note:  Deathclaw, I could build a stone fortress's walls in few days because my army and the woodlanders would have worked together, and their forces together rival the anti-cheese army.   :P   The woodlanders are in no way a part of my army though, they just helped to construct what would be part their home.  Dampend wood would help prevent the fire from ceaching, and in anycase would make it spread slower, giving my army more time to put it out.

Pondering the message that a messanger from Kilkenne brought, windhound once again paced up and down.  Shrugging, he sat down at a spare piece of stone and wrote a message back.

"Kilkenne.  Your forces do overwhelm mine, but we have our own facilities within our walls, including some gardens that are starting up and a deep well.  So, we could outlast most sieges.  My adders were crippled by an underhanded move by Deathclaw's forces, yet they still posses streanth and speed and they currently reside within a maze of underground passages inside the quarry.  The likelyhood of your soldiers even finding one of my adders, much less slaying one, is quite remote.  We shall remain inside our now almost complete residence,

Thanks for the offer though,
~windhound, commander of the Windhounds"

Upon finnishing it, he rolled it up onto an arrow and gave it to a messanger.  The messanger went out and shot the arrow over the walls of Kilk's castle and set back.

*As the wall guards watch the messenger pull out the bow, they realise what is happening and quickly pull their off their shoulders. The enemy arrow goes sailing over their heads, but the 12 or so guards that have time fire their longbow fire at the messenger, hoping for a kill.*

*The arrow lands in the leg of a passing soldier, moving from the mess hall to the store room, having been sent there by his superior to get more water for the evening meal. He falls, clutching the arrow, and rips it out. He grits his teeth and makes his way, limping to Kilkenne's tent and rips open the flap, tossing the arrow at his feet before collapsing. Kilk nods to his guards and they take the ferret to get the proper care for his leg as he reads the letter.*

"Fool..." *Kilkenne snarls as he tosses the note in the fire. His blood red eyes burn with the glow with new vigor due to the light of the flame. He calls in his advisor.*

"Be prepared. We march to besiege their fortress soon." *Kilkenne spoke, pleased that they had allowed no forces in so there would be no spies to counterract this action.*

"M'lord?" *The advisor asks, confused.*

"Do as I say, or pay the penalty..." *Kilk laughs silently as the advisor scurries out of the hut.*

*Looking at the messenger who had just walked in after delivering the message to Windhound, he has one last job.* "You! Get Deathclaw in here at once! Then you will recieve your food and drink...double rations for the week."

The messanger sent to deliver Kilk's message limped in to the fort Cheesedom, half of his right ear had been shorn off and his left leg had been hit with an arrow, but he concidered himself lucky to be alive after the 12 hastily shot shafts flew out of the air at him.

When windhound saw his messanger in this condition, he knew immediatly that Kilkenne would be none too pleased with his response.  "Well..."  he muttered to himself, "atleast I was polite..."

Creatures scurried everywhere, making the last of the buildings inside the walls.  News of a possible attack spread like wildfire through the fort.  Tunnels were dug undernieth the buildings, connecting them, making it so that there was no need to venture outside.  Foraging parties scoured the countryside, bringing in tons of food.
windhound was pleased with the progress that was being made.  Kilks and Deathclaw can siege all they wish, they shalnt break in.

A messanger from Reosin Darkwood met with one of the forageing parties, and they were brought back to the fort to meet with windhound.
"Hello,"  windhound said as he greeted the messanger.  The messanger delivered his message, and windhound pondered it a moment before replying.  "Tell Reosin Darkwood that his forces would be of much use to us in the war for cheese.  We can pay in cheese, lots of cheese.  Infact, if he needs paying now, he may talk to our adders, they protect our huge supply of cheese."

"Windhound has disagreed with terms and the cheesers are preparing to march upon our fortress. My scouts returned moments before your entry. They'll besiege us, but by my figures we can reduce their numbers by at least fifty thousand before they reach the walls...and the walls must not fall. I have sent back to the North and already have more contingents on the way. Stones have been quarried and we have massive amounts for slings for every single soldier, mine, and yours. My fifty thousand archers have been reinforced by fifty thousand more to help defend the walls. All soldiers from my army are ready to march to intercept invaders at a moment's notice. What are your plans for these attacks?"

My troops are all well trained for battle. My otters can patrol waterways, of course, and help there.  Slingers can be hidden behind boulders and in caves to pick of enemy regiments. I will assign 40,000 more for archer duties to defend the wall as well, making 200,000 archers prepared at the wall. My guard towers are high enough to shield shots but low enough to have successful shots made easily. I'll put my best in one tower and your's in another. Gather five or so for the tower and stock them well with arrows. Mine are on their way, stocked up with food and drink and many, many arrows. We can send food up to the battlements and alternate archer squads in 6 or 12 hour shifts. If we keep any of my forces spare then they can go up for any slain archers. We have an overwhelming chance of winning this war. How many archers shall I keep in reserve?"

Scouts were deployed to possibly see when the attack of the anti-cheesers was to take place.  They returned, slightly bemused.
"windhound, the anit-cheese forces appear to be setting up a defence, though, they were a long ways off, I couldnt get too close for fear of being spotted.  Possibly they think we are the ones who shall be attacking?"
"Well...  they are certainly mistaken if they think that, I believe that they will be the ones leading the offencive actions against us, for if we marched up to them they could take us out easily without leaving their fortress...  through the burned forrest they would see us coming a long ways off."  windhound thought for a moment, then continued, "contuinue to raise our defences, there can be no harm done if they do not attack, yet if they do and we are not ready it could end very badly for us."

A messanger from Reosin Darkwood arrived then and delivered their message.  windhound shook his head in reply, "your leader has recieved our message then?  hmm...  I then see no reason to send anyone back.  Your services would be appriciated but are not needed.  Thank you."

All of them were massacred as his troops rushed in. He lost 27,000 in the process.  Orcrist's troops had been idle for too long, but now they were ready.
Of the 500,000, they are broken down into corps of 100,000, then to divisions of 50,000, then to brigades of 25,000, followed by regiments of 12,500. Inside of each company is 125 platoon squads of 100 (there are 5 platoons in a platoon squad, each platoon consists of 20 beasts- inside of each platoon, there are squads of 5, each headed by a leader- the platoon leader is in charge of all 20 and the platoon seargeant is in charge of the platoon squad).
The army consists of 1 division of squirrels, which serve as fast attack units, and archers, as they are famous for their skills with long range weapons, 1 division of veteran hares, who, armed with long pikes, make up the core of the army, 1 division of river and sea otters (1 division of each) to deal with the naval combat. The ships all have iron plating and spikes, to serve as rams, as well as ballistas onboard to serve as long range weapons. Also, the otters are all armed with a sling, stone pouch, and dirk, so as not to inhibit movement in water. 1 division of moles and mice (1 division of each) make up the auxiliary corps. The moles serve as engineers, being able to set up siege weapons, shape the terrain, and set up earth/breast works. They are also strangely effective using a broad shield with a mace-and-chain, as the low height combined with the length of the weapon allows the moles to serve as reserves well. Mice can cook and heal, and also supply the army with weapons. Also, with a 2-handed sword, they can break through the flanks of enemies with ease, as long as they are given the ability to swing their swords to their fullest extent. Finally, a division is formed that is a mix: there is a brigade of shrews, who are excellent sentries with their long rapiers, there is a brigade of hares with longbows, which are incredible weapons, there is a brigade of hares known as "The Great Patrol", which, fashioned after the "Long Patrol", is the best brigade in the army, and finally, there is a brigade of otters, mice, and moles armed with long clubs with spikes in them, designed for Special Ops and quietly dispatching beasts while destroy key supplies, routes, officers,etc.. This division, known as the "Vermin United", is one of the most versatile ever created.....and it's specialty is to destroy creatures that are massive, such as badgers, wolves, etc.
The army calls itself "The Army of The Blueeyes", named after its commander, me, Orcrist the Vengeful.
Orcrist's army closed in on the flanks of the cheesers....a pincer attack could split them in to, allowing the other non-cheesers to finish this nonsense once and for all..............

Finally, at nightfall, Orcrist sent a messenger to Kilkenne and Deathclaw, alerting them of his crucial aid and position.....

*He turns to a servant and speaks quickly* "Ready three hundred thousand soldiers, same troop percentage divisions. We move in an hour!"

*One hour later, Kilkenne, dressed in his Lorica segmentata and red cape, he is at the head of his army, laughing as me marches, following Orcrist's messenger into the night, towards his new ally. They were to break the cheese supporters once and for all.*

Pulling out his loaded sling, he cracked the paw of the vixen and watched her run out of site. He dismissed the Elite Guard to other duties, preparing for a possible attack by the vixen.

Talking with Kilkenne, Deathclaw said, "Tania has issued a challenge and I have asked her to attack if she thinks she is able. I am boistering our defenses in case the fool accepts my challenge. I've already injured her: an arrow to the leg and slingstone to the paw for her slap to my face," Deathclaw motioned to a slight red mark and continued, "So be ready. My Archer Regiment have doubled the guards on the wall top and been given a new alert level: High."

Deathclaw then sat, honing his scimitar on a stone and making sure his armor and shield were both in good condition for possible battle. He sharpened other weapons he kept in reserve and kept the weapons close to paw. More shrews were assigned to sentry duty to watch out for Tania.

I didn't belittle her. I retaliated to her slap. Now she has an army. Does she dare to attack?

Sending out a logboat of shrews, Deathclaw went to see how many guards were at the cheese stronghold. Peering out from the prow of his boat, he saw that their were a lot of guards, but that a lot were asleep, unlike his sentries. This showed lack of experience in Deathclaw's point of view. He stood up with longbow loaded and shrews ready to paddle away and started firing, first at the awake, then at the asleep. Taking out twelve sentries, Deathclaw had one shrew injured by an off target slingstone. Otherwise, nothing went wrong. They pulled in the harbor near the castle and went in an underground passagevknown only to Deathclaw, Kilkenne, and Orcrist. Arriving in camp, the healer quickly came over and mended the shrews' injured paw. Meanwhile, Fletch Longbow, Deathclaw's second in command and leader of the Archer Regiment, was in another logboat with fifteen archers and some shrews. They moved to the treetops, lit their arrows on fire, and shot the flaming arrows at all enemy naval ships. They all sank instantly. Hopping back into the logboat, they too were off and in the castle soon.

"What happened to you? I presume you're not with the cheese beasts, eh?"

*Stands, awaiting his answer as his troops march ever closer to Orcrist, awaiting the merger.*

Peering out from the prow of his boat, he saw that their were a lot of guards, but that a lot were asleep, unlike his sentries."  MY FORT???  yeah, right, do you ever read my posts Deathclaw?  I mean really, I said I had had hourly checks done to make sure there were no sleepers!  geez.  If you were refering to some other, less well managed, cheeze fort that I missed than sorry, but, eh, if it was mine then none of mine were killed because they were all awake and thus would have seen you and dodged your wepontry, also shooting back more than one slingstone.  ALSO, I wasnt under the impression I had any naval ships to sink.  I hate it when you say things about my army that are not true, esp. when I specifically stated it.
btw, sorry for not posting for a bit, didnt have much time and am just now visting the rp section again...  heh...  sorry for rambling a bit, esp if my points were irrelevent, though, I rather doubt it....

windhound sat snug in his now fully completed and well provisioned fort.  All were happy and safe, the anti cheese forces could now do nothing agianst them while they sat in their fort, even if they surrounded it, the high walls would help protect them and the all stone buildings would not burn.  windhound sat in the main building, looking over charts and maps, determining their next best move.  Though, it wasnt long before he determined that their best choice of action would be to simply stay as they were, sending out occasional small, armed foraging parties to gather in extra supplies to supplement thoes grown inside the walls.  Maybe reinforcements would arrive to aid them, if not, the pro-cheese forces inside the fort would be safe for a long while.

Sending out parties of armed patrols, Deathclaw demolished all plant life that was being collected by the Windhound's. With three armies totaling 1,500,000 troops (a little less due to casualties) there was an easy victory in store for anti cheese groups. Moving through the former forest, a tribe of squirrels were recruited, all skilled with a bow. Miscellanious animals, including otters, badgers, and others were also recruited. The troop count was at 500,000 now, back to their original strength and greater.

While traveling the waterways, logboats of shrews and a couple crews of otters found something: An area of berries and edible plants in mass amounts. Gathering as much as possible, yet leaving enough to grow, the shrews started back, otters guarding it, as well as some shrews. Deathclaw posted two hundred guards around this valuable food source which was to be destroyed if captured by the enemy.

NOTE: Now hordes can be killed, though through many, many, posts and a long struggle.

Bringing around 30,000 mountain hares, Deathclaw attacked a small portion of the castle. As soon as he saw double his force opposing him, he killed as many more as possible and hid from view in a cave. Then, the squirrels went to work, sniping the enemy. 300,000 reinforcements came, ready for an assault, hoping Kilkenne and Orcrist would get his plan in time. Then, he came around the back of the Windhounds, confusing them. He hit from the front, and eventually the sides. Half the enemy were killed, but he lost 20,000 good soldiers, and 14,000 were injured, half of those fatally. The vixen and some other medically-skilled beasts set about tending the wounded, whilst the archers kept up their work.

Fletch Longbow urged his archers on. They came bolder and hit harder. In turn, they too were hit harder. They drew back and kept shooting, then retreated a little more.

Deathclaw heard a yell from Fletch Longbow, and he came over.
"We should probably take out the sentries, it won't be too hard."
Deathclaw nodded, and this was done, then all hid in the cave except Fletch, Deathclaw, ten archers, ten shrews, ten hares, five otters, and five badgers. They spied on the enemy, full armor on to protect them better, shields covering faces. They awaited the Windhounds next move, and Deathclaw thought of going away and striking in the night, but decided to stay. He sent back for 100,000 reinforcements and asked Kilk and Orcrist to contribute, and possibly alternate helping out, then lay in wait for the enemy to move. Thirty archers were around the castle, ready to shoot any of the Windhounds showing hide or hair.

The army of the Windhounds sat inside their fort and awaited the enemy's next move.  Only minimal sentries were kept posted on the high wall tops, sneaking a quick peak out from time to time to determine the enemy's position then ducking back before any wepontry could be fired.  All other troops and woodlanders were to keep inside the stone buildings to prevent any other unnessisary mass killings.

"Well...."  windhound thought to himself, "atleast our food supplies will last longer with half our army gone...  They cant keep this up forever, and the enemy may lose heart eventually..."

A tunnel was being dug by some of the woodland moles that would connect the caverns of the rock quarry with the fort.  The tunnel was to be dug very deep so that it would be hard to tap into.  This tunnel was to be an alternate escape route if the fort fell.  It would also connect the fort with the cheese supply which lay in the underground maze of passages,  gaurded by the remaining adders.

windhound sighed as he saw the pitifully small force of Basil and Martin attack Deathclaw's forces.  "Quick then,"  he said, "get thoes fools into here, they wont last long taking on the Deathclaw's forces."

Calling in the mole council, Deathclaw the Conqueror planned.
"Okay. Foremole, take your crew and tunnel into their passages, and my hares will follow and attack the adders, while going into the middle of the fortress."

After three moons of strenuous labor, they were in the cheese quarry. Suddenly, they shot arrows at of nowhere, killing an adder. The adders came in force. They knocked down ten, and then they fell back, all stunned but one. He wreaked havoc on the forces of Deathclaw. Killing a score of vermin, he, too, was knocked senseless. Poisoning the cheese, they left back two score to intercept any incoming enemy. They brought down 150,000 troops, and left 1000 to stay hidden and make sure no escape happened, with 20,000 farther away, ready for action. Food was taken down to the forces underground, and many, many, sentries stood watch. Deathclaw and Fletch planned an assault from the least expected place: underground.

"Come on ol' pal, we cut their numbers by about one forth of the forces attacking and only lost about 78 men, we should call in the rest of the forces soon wot wot!"  Hearing the weak enemy wanting more troops, Deathclaw remained composed and laughed inwardly. 1,500,000 trained fighters from 3 hordes would not be taken down by Basil and Martin, along with the Windhounds.

The adders were knocked out every time they awoke and fed meagerly, to be used as hostages. Deathclaw came out with 50,000 soldiers, showing the adders.
"Our hostages are your adders. Surrender and face a lenient punishment or suffer death in war, along with your adders. Two have been slayed already..."

*Kilkenne grinned as he finally saw the vast armies of Deathclaw besieging Windhound's fortress. He pulled a horn from it's pouch at his side and blew thrice into it. This was to alert Deathclaw he was coming, and one other thing...*

"Forward with them! Set them up seven hundred and fifty meters from the fortress!"

*They were nought but planks of wood and rope, but before his very eyes, Kilkenne's three trebuchets were erected within one hour as he made his way to Deathclaw to tell him of his new plan. Before he left, he directed a hundred of his guard to go get already quarried stone from the woodlanders' quarry. He had dispatched 300 more to guard them from possible counterrattack and soon the trebuchets had huge piles of rocks near them.*

------------
*Kilkenne threw open Deathclaw's tent flap, bowing slightly.* "I am here. My seige machines are more or less erected. Bombardment should commence in a few moments." *As he spoke, his words seemed to be puncuated by the sound of TWICK - THWACK of the ropes being let off and the boulders could be heard cutting the air, then the audible SMASH as they hit their targets, two of them aimed at the outer wall, one bombarding the inner buildings and keep.*

"Deathclaw, have your troops surround the entire fortress, they will not be leaving, be prepared to follow mine in within the hour once the wall goes down." *Kilk poured a chalice of wine for himself and Deathclaw from a flagon he found on a table in the tent, and drank deeply before setting down the chalice and awaiting Deathclaw's response.*

------
*Kilkenne's generals stood in several places among the army, clad as simple troops as not to be sniped as they each looked through their spyglass at the battering of the castle's wall. They then began yelling orders, as all beasts in the army simply KNEW they were generals. The troops were formed into columns and prepared to march on into the fort, each one of them knowing their chance of survival just dwindled by a huge percent.*

windhound knew that all was pretty much lost for them.  The flying rocks seemed to be doing their job well, and although the walls were made thick, it seemed that nothing could stop the bolders from breaking through.

The moles had completed their task in making a tunnel to the caverns, but they had misguessed their arrival point.  They had tapped into a passage that showed no trace of living things ever being there, which seemed very odd to the moles, for they could tell that no adders had been anywhere close to their location.

Upon reporting back to windhound, they told him of this discovery.  "Too late to dig another tunnel now, go ahead of us and brace up the sides of the tunnel, there will be many traveling it very soon.  We must evacuate now."

As the moles went ahead, windhound went around to the now crumbing stone buildings and alerted everyone to be outside asap.

Soon the moles were done with thier task, and the forces of the Windhounds as well as the woodlanders crouded into the small tunnel that led deep into the earth.

windhound and a previously selected mole were the last to enter the tunnel.  As windhound went ahead, the mole took out the braces of the tunnel one by one as he came across them.  Without support, the tunnel began to collaspe where the supports had been taken, effectivly sealing their escape route.

The tunnel seemed to last much longer than an ordinary trip to the quarry should have taken, and when atlast they emerged from the mole-tunnel, they saw that the passages were made from some odd stone that they didnt reconise at all, for it was not the type that they used to build their fort.

The scout that had delivered the message by arrow to Kilkenne eventually reconised the stone.  "This must be the quarry that Kilkenne and Deathclaw used to build thier caste," he thought, and went immediatly to report his find to windhound.

"Hmmmm, Basil get a few moles and follow me." Martin said as he walked and leaned on the wall of the cave.

A little while later Martin and a few moles and Basil went deeper into the cave. Martin and the moles got to a certain spot and then Martin told the moles to dig up. When the moles were done digging the rest of Martin's army was awaiting above them. "Basil, go tell windhound we have found an exit."

*The trebuchets stopped slinging, and the troops immediately marched towards the stronghold. They got ever closer and soon they were inside, but seeing no one, they realised something was awry, and immediately picked up on the tracks through the wreckage that led...into a tunnel! Quick calculations were done and it was decided that they did not have the supplies for seige weapons, but they were heading towards the joint Anti-Cheese fortress.*

--------
"FALL BACK!" *The generals yelled in unison as the troops now began a dead run back towards their castle, determined to beat the enemy there...*

-------
*Kilkenne raced along at the front of the columns, his armour discarded as he sprinted into view of his castle. He dove through the already open gates and made his way to the inner stronghold as the rest of the troops caught up and shifted with the 200,000 troops he left behind, so they could rest after a 20 kilometer dead run.*

"If they made it through to us, the final confrontation is here..." He breathed to his generals as he wiped his brow on a clean cloth and donned new armour.

windhound had ordered the main body to split up between woodlanders and Windhound troops.  Martin and Basil were given command of the woodland party, for they apparently already knew a way out.

windhound had asked half the woodland moles to stay with him and the Windhounds, and they decided that the best way of escaping the quarry would be to tunnel at a slow slant upwards.

Luckily or unluckily, however you wish to see it, the moles' tunnel led them right up into the foundations of Kilk's castle.  Carefully looking around, windhound saw that there was no sign of life.  But on the floor above he could hear lots of it, paws pacing, armor clanking, and the sounds of conversations.

Deathclaw new the tunnel the Windhounds had been in had to be exited quickly, for lack of air. Seeing the forces moving away, shrews went around the river, otters swam it, and troops ran it. They surrounded the enemy, awaiting reinforcements before attacking, as they attempted to force the Windhounds in the ridge, which they successfully did, cornering their enemy at the valley floor. Archers went to trees, and troops suited up, ready to converge. Deathclaw was ready to give the charge signal, as soon as he talked to Kilkenne.
"I see you brought many troops. We now have one million here from our three hordes fighting the cheese. A half million left to defend. Good. Have your troops surround as mine have done, then let my archers go to work. When they have done all they can, we will give the signal to charge."
Fletch signalled, and the Archer Regiment started firing. Fatal shafts pierced armor and fur. Animals fell. The only fault was the moles. They must get the moles. Sending in his moles, Deathclaw surrounded all escape routes underground, having 200,000 underground, and 800,000 above. Now, hares willingly pushed boulders off the side, causing more damage. Slingers injured few from the height they were at, and were stopped to save rocks for the main event. When the maximum damage had been done, Deathclaw looked to Kilkenne. They both nodded. The charge would come.
"Kilkenne, would you like to do the honors?"
Deathclaw drew his scimitar, adjusted his armor, checked his secondary weapons, and awaited his fellow warlord's command for the battle to take place.
Calling one last word to his troops, Deathclaw proclaimed, "An end to cheese is near. Fight bravely, don't draw back, and put an end to cheese. Never surrender, and take no prisoners!"

Then, he looked at Kilkenne once more, and they both braced themselves for the charge, Kilkenne ready to bellow the signal.

Deathclaw had to think quicky. He surrounded the area in which he thought they would come up at, and had moles dig tunnels, setting very effective traps. Either they would come up, or they would be trapped and suffocate. Their projected area of rising was a valley floor. He sent out otter patrols and they watched the ground around the area to check for the enemy coming up in another location. Twoscore otters were in each party, and squirrels hid in brush and any cover possible, bow loaded with arrow, ready to strike.

"Alright, send a scout ahead, we need to know if anything is waiting for us," A large badger said as a squirrel ran off towards the valley.

Convenient you know what I plan ahead of time, eh, Kazaar?

An otter stifled a yell, seeing the squirrel running. Reporting to the head otter, they stole off, and cornered him. As the otters closed in, they captured him to be used as a hostage.

"Something isn't right, we need to go see what happened, Jake take the woodlanders in a different dirrection with alittle more than hmmmm 1500 troops, the rest of us are going to the valley," The large badger said as he got the rest of his forces and headed to the valley.

A scout rushed to Deathclaw. "1500 enemies going to towards our otters. The rest are coming to the valley."

Deathclaw spoke, "Establish a welcoming commitee of, say, 5,000 to meet up with these woodlanders. Take as many as possible captive. I'll see to the others going to the valley. Gather all patrols and archers, then mow them down. If they resist, kill them. Otherwise, they are hostages, and if the battle starts, kill them."

Moving away, Deathclaw alerted his soldiers to be on the lookout, had archers hide, bows loaded, slingers with loaded slings, and his double scimitars drawn.

Martin had a large badger take the troups unaware of the trap Deathclaw had set slowly walked into the valley with extreme caution. "We are not alone, someone else is here... we are outnumbered, make a run for the end and try and kill some while your running!"

Seeing them run, Deathclaw put a few extra layers of troops and ordered archers to fire. Deathclaw put his badgers and otters in the front of the area the enemy was fleeing to, and ordered other sides to slowly close in. They moved in to fifty yards away and halted. Hares backed up the badgers and otters. They braced themselves to block the escape.

One hundred badgers ran at the blockade and started battleing with the enemy. Archers fired arrows at the opposing archers but Deathclaw's archers were overwhelming in numbers making it hard for the archers to get their bows ready but those who did damage to Deathclaw's forces. The badgers and other warriors fought on  making a hole in the middle of the opposing forces so the woodlanders could escape. "Go! We will hold them off till you guys escape!" The large badger leading the forces that were trying to escape yelled to the woodlanders as he killed 5 enemy forces.

Meanwhile, unaware of the battle between Deathclaw and the forces of Martain and Basil, windhound prepared to move further into Kilkenne's castle.

Hearing the faint movement and voices above them, windhound quietly led his forces up a staircase.  Finding the door at the top slightly ajar, he pushed it slowly open.  windhound found himself in a long, wide passageway, with the only real light coming from the crack between the stone floor a doorway about a hundred paw-lenghts away.  This seemed to be where the voices and movements were coming from.  As the last member of the Windhounds crept into the passageway, windhound began a slow, cautious creep towards the room.

Seeing the 100 badgers, Deathclaw sent in all of his badgers, more than the 100 opposing them. Hares stood in the back and killed any who managed to escape that far. The others backed off and let approximately 1,000 badgers fight the 100. Hares went to work on the other troops found, and shrews mounted an assault on the archers.

Ok that's getting sort of a little to out of hand I mean over a thousand badgers?

While he does have an army of 500,000, it seems that 1000 badgers is acceptable, because you figure they can kill 30 times that number, which comes to only thirty thousand kills. That's not so bad considering he could have more badgers, or an army of longbow archers that would be, for the most part, untouchable.

Also, the max is 500,000, so a portion couldn't possibly be that much...

Silently, Deathclaw barricaded Basil and his troops in the barren valley. He sent shrews to check on Kilk.

At Kilk's Fortress...

"INTRUDERS!" screamed a shrew. Chaos insued. Six shrews were transfixed by javelins, nine of the woodlanders by arrows, screaming high, piercing screams. Violence reigned. Shrews charged, dodging fatal javelins. Three javelins found marks, three more deaths. Rapiers cut down enemy, the flanks of shrews charging.

Alright, last time I am saying this, Basil and Martin are with windhound and not at the battle at the valley.

The large badger leading the forces crashed his axe down crushing the smaller badgers and vermin. "We can't fight on forever.."

Meanwhile the woodlanders were fighting with the otter blocking them, they were mostly archers get the otters from a small amount of distance.

 At the valley...

Many of the woodlanders were forced to surrender, others dying from their futile efforts. Deathclaw moved back, and had his moles finish a trap. Then, a landslide occured, but the construction was off by a few yards and only killed the back end of the woodlanders forces. From the rim of the valley, archers fired away, mowing down the enemy. Then, Deathclaw left Fletch Longbow in charge and took with him 300 archers, including Snipe Coldblood, as well as a mixture of 100 hares, otters, and shrews to check on Kilk. Leaving them to help Kilkenne, Deathclaw returned to the valley as the sniping insued. He retook his position of command and conversed with Fletch as to their next plan of action after sniping...............................

 In the tunnel....

Worried about the others Martin sent 100000 troops to the vally but not right in the valley but along the sides for if the enemy attacked them in the valley they hoped to shoot them with arrows not knowing the abit of Deathclaws forces were archers. Around half of the forces had bows and swords, a quarter had swords and the other quarter had bows.

 Deathclaw's sentries ran to him.
"The enemy has 100,000 marching to fight."
Then take 100,000 of mine, the rest stay here. 100,000 of mine will easily force the enemy to flee. Take 5,000 archers and pick them off in the advance.

OOC: Yes, It is too late... 11 pages late...

The final battle had drawn up. The ones marching upon the castle fell down easily. The Battle of the Vallety Fern went a little tougher, thousands dying in the raging inferno. The bodies were set afire to insure there death, and for a pyro's pleasure.
