My sister got rear ended really bad and since repairing the damage to the car would cost more than it's is worth, we have no car now.
My sister is okay though and that's what matters I think. The other guy is okay too.
RIP in peace, car.
No insurance payout?
Or currently looking for a replacement?
We have insurance. Dad's dealing with that.
We're looking for a replacement soon. Dad's getting a rental car until we get stuff from Insurance to get a new car.
Make sure to ask if the insurance company will cover the cost of the rental.
They're covering most of it. We're only paying a few dollars a day for the rental.
Dad's gonna drive that. I'm not old enough to drive a rental car apparently? So I'm gonna use my dads car.
Correct. You have to be 21 or 25 depending on the rental company. It goes along the same lines that insurance goes down when the driver turns 25 (especially true for male drivers)
insurance goes down at 25? le sigh
been driving insuranceless because of the costs since I was 16
its pretty nerveracking tbh
derp... drive an old beater rather than go without insurance, gotta have that
That or a moped, the little Honda Ruckus is adorable
Sucks that happened Krowdon, hopefully you guys end up with a workable replacement

awful idea. Get liability insurance at least. A crappy car you can write off, but paying someone else's medical expenses forever you can't.

Hopefully!
And I'm pretty sure you can get a ticket in most states for driving without insurance.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to your car, Krowdon. But I'm relieved to know that your sister and the other guy are both ok :) Hopefully, everything's going to be back to normal soon :)
Or as normal as a talking bird
I'm sorry to hear that had to happen to you and your sister krowdon. I hope everything works out for the better. The others are right though. See if you could get some type of insurance. Anything is better then nothing. Costs are a pain for sure, but certainly there must be some insurance company that can be suitable for your needs right now.
New member shock killed the board.
lmaooo the randomness
it is technically illegal to drive without insurance
but i do drive a pretty poo 1996 camry anyway
and its a pretty quiet area
also lol words every time I see your picture I somehow assume you're alazar
something about the colors
and then I check the name

baby seal eyes for headlights, yeah!
No dude cat eyes for headlights. Those baby seal eyes don't have much reflection.
It was silver. IDK what the new one is gonna be
Maybe he has a smart car...baby seal eyes would work on a car that size.
It's not the illegality of driving without insurance that makes it a bad idea. It's the fact that if you do hit someone, you will be on the hook for their medical expenses. Which are probably orders of magnitude more than any of us could possibly afford, even for something minor.
^
yeah there's always the possibility of getting into some small fender bender and then magical back problems start arising
but eh
money
Who needs it?
I'm getting a new car soon. B)
new or used?
okay it'll be a used one but i mean it'll be a replacement for my poor Camry.
Good job getting used. I don't think new cars are worth it.
My mom got a new car recently. It's alright.
The last new car she got we had for 10+ years though. Maybe they last longer than used ones? IDK. They sure do smell nice though, new cars.
Heh. There are some poor quality makes out there, but the majority of cars will run a loooong time if properly taken care of.
If it's a diesel it'll run even longer, there was an old diesel VW rabbit around NCSU with 750k miles on it.
My family got 350k miles out of the last Chevy van, god only knows how many miles my '70 Beetle has (odometer rolls) and I'm using that as a daily driver.
Just about anything can be repaired, the consideration is whether the repair is worth while with respect to the value of the car. If the answer is 'yep' you keep rollin'
...unless you're one of those weird people who buys a new car every 2 - 5 years. I honestly don't get it.
But then they're the reason for the used car market, so I'm appreciative

If it ain't a 55 Thunderbird then it's not allowed in spa by order of the spa mod.
Overruled.
'55 Thunderbird or aircooled VWs are currently acceptable
