General Discussion / Coffee is good.

Hello, ch.. er, friends. Just your friendly neighbourhood Sha dropping in to say...

What the?

You all need to take a deep breath and take a few steps back from the game. Yes. It's becoming quite volatile around here. I've heard several complaints from several people about the forums. Rather disconcerting, it is.

So. With that, don't make me hug you all. I know several of you are deathly afraid of hugs and the like, and I will do it. If that doesn't work, I'll throw a cookie at you. A really hard one. Made with salt instead of sugar.

But seriously - try not to claw each other's eyes out on the forum, okay? That's what the game is for. And no, I don't mean the in-game PMing system. >.<

AND. I also want to apologise for not being around the past, um, however long it was. I was banned from the computer and had computer problems.

>.> I really feel like this is spam. But you all need to take a deep breath and calm down. *nod* I know it's good that there's life back in the game, but we don't need mass murder here on the forums. 'kay? 'Kay.

General Discussion / An observation.
September 21, 2003, 07:35:08 PM
 Hmm... how to start this?

I have been here for some time now... not long enough to be considered old, but long enough to know the majority of you, and for you to at least know me somewhat.

You may or may not have noticed that I was rather inactive for several months. I did not leave because you guys were boring or anything; I just tend to lose interest in messageboards after a while and forget to visit them. Before I "left," I made some wonderful friends. I knew three of you prior to coming here (you know who you are) and now I have countless friends that are randomly grouped "RWLers." It was wonderful. Now, over the last two weeks or so, I have been coming back regularly. I had stopped in before that time, just to see how things were going, and I daresay I wasn't impressed, and I'm still not.

Why am I not impressed?

Everyone seems to find something to argue about. I know, I know, this message is getting old, because I've said it several times now, but I feel the need to reiterate. This is a message board for a war-like game, so I suppose I should expect some arguements, right? Wrong. The game should be seperate from your personal life. If you have problems with someone, and it only includes one or two people, PM them, IM them, email them, whatever the case may be. Do not bring it to the message board. You should not try to publicise your arguements. This usually ends up bringing out hard feelings, dislike, and heaven knows what else.

Now, there were a few little spats before, but it seems (to me, anyway) that almost every topic is either about making someone look bad, complaining about something, or looking for a fight. Okay, perhaps I'm exagerating slightly, but still. Think about what you are going to post. Is it going to offend someone? Is it going to make someone mad? Will it start a fight? Will it hurt someone's feelings? If the answer is yes, don't post it. Chances are people will jump on you and you'll end up getting flamed, and then it's a flame war.  "Aha! My flames are hotter than yours!" Eh heh. Now, I'm not saying you have to keep your feelings to yourself, because that would totally destroy the whole purpose of a message board. I'm just suggesting you think about how you phrase things. Perhaps read your posts over from someone else's point of view quickly before hitting that "submit" button. You would be surprised what a difference a little bit of tact can have on how people view you.

Oh, yes. I realize I'm quite hypocritic with this whole post, as it's sort of a complaint. But I didn't say I was perfect; I make these same mistakes myself. But with this post, I pledge to try to be a little bit kinder to my fellow RWL forum-goers and realize that they have feelings, too. Who's with me?

General Discussion / Bravo!
May 13, 2003, 11:14:24 AM
This has been said manyatime, but I believe it is time for a topic. Call me post happy, what have you, but I believe our administrators and moderators deserve a thunderous round of applause.

Yes. I believe so.

I mean, they try to keep this place clean and running. And they all have a sense of humour. At least what I've seen. *stares* Anyway. I just wanted to say that those people who keep this (and RWL) running rock. Because they do rock.

I know, this is rather an obvious thing, but someone had to say it. =D

So, Thank you, administrators and moderators. You are all my heroes.

Too bad heroes is such a funny looking word.
