Noticed this in the economic status printout after using turns:

War Tax:    $0

What is war tax? I don't remember ever seeing it before.

Does it have something to do with having clans set to war status when you're in a clan?

Shadow

Shael and I were wondering about that a few months ago. As far as we can tell, it's just a bit of deprecated code that never got taken out of the display, possibly left over from protectorates.

old, mostly failed feature whereby one player could pay tax to someone else, and in exchange they would benefit from that person's army.

Sounds interesting, kind of like sharing your troops with clan members

Obviously must have been flawed in some way unfortunately if it was taken out.

well, it rather stopped working after people realized that cashing and foraging didn't really work. The tax was based on per turn income, and protectorates weren't allowed to get more than 100,000 troops or leaders, so nobody was using it.

By income per turn I take it that discounts cash made through leaders?

And I can see the 100'00 troop limit defuncting it.

Also on the topic of cashers and farmers (I know this is totally unrelated to the topic) but are there any future plans to make them more viable strategies?

They do actually work. But I will echo Sharptooh here.

Lots of plans :) But life has caught up to me again and I won't have time to commit for several months. The rest of the team may be able to.

What about changing it to the emporer tax? I know it's been discussed, but why not?
