 Truthfully, I don't think anyone really cares about this anymore, and it would do a lot of good to all of us if any topics like this disappear from the forums.

and, probably, same reason why people would spam. We're bored computer geeks who have no life and play RWL and sit around on the forum. Why did things like cheese and dead buffalos and theories on happy pony raising become such fads? We have no life, and crave intellectual stimuli.

Or it could just be me that has no life...
