Title: It's too quiet in here.
Post by: Gorak on October 25, 2018, 12:49:38 AM
There's like 10 people playing, but not a peep?
come on guy's, how's everyone doing this round?
make some noise in here to let peeps know the server isn't dead yet.

Sevz is still licking his wounds after I made him revolt to rat, not much else is happening.

Lol

Hey Gorak, glad to see you playing. I'm doing alright this round, trying to get the hang of the new dynamic market. It's kind of nice to see the market semi active, even if there is only ten people playing. How are you making out so far?

Still flailing around trying to remember how I used to play solo rat.
turn runs have been semi disasterous with lots of 3%'in myself, but still hanging with top 3-4 in rankings.

Still too quiet in here. It's like no one wants break the silence.
Don't be afraid to talk about the game you're playing peoples. As for me, I'm basically fighting everybody while playing a race and strat I've never used before. It's going about as well as it sounds it would. So far, Gier and Disl have taken the most offence to me, which is understandable as they were my personal punching bags for my earlier runs (only because they sounded whiny in their forum posts I read) but seems I've started to piss off others now as well. But hey, what's a little conflict and controversy in Reg without me? Gotta liven this place up again somehow

I'm trying but nobody seems mad that the land farm is taking a beating.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Since it's crickets in here, figured I'd post a set update.
I managed to piss off Shadow, whom promised me "piratey things" ... which frankly sounds dirty.
Snare and Sevz seem to have tucked tail and run. Their pet Pearls deleted.
Just couldn't hang in there when the going got tough, lol. (I admit, it's probably just real life getting in the way)
Though as amusing as it is, it does mean Disl and whats-his-name can now focus solely on me. And as I am constantly coming up with new ways to live up to my empires name, that leaves them to run away with the set. Unless Shadow keeps peace with them and is allowed to keep sneaking ever higher in net. They do seem pretty buddy-buddy.
As for me, I'll keep flailing angerly at the top of the scoreboard to try and convince myself I can still be relevant.
I'll continue to take you all on all by me-lonesome
Even if it means piratey things from Shadow

This msg brought to you by a very incompetent Martin

I'd like a little more respect. Since we got Sevz to chicken out we are now officially the best players in this game. We are the ultimate redwallians. The best of the best and in a realm of our own!

Sevz is having an irl thing and I got busy but I popped on to see you guys had all but completely let your guard down and clammed up. If t weren't for your little helper program alerting you when your networth changes, I would have taken all that money instead of poisoning it whilst you scramble to...wait, do you know how to counter online leader battles yet? Must have been texting Ryu quick for further instruction?  :D

In all seriousness though it's been fun so far and I'm back for the endgame, will try to get sevz back but very doubtful as of right now given certain things and such not my place to speak on. Here's to a bloody end of set!

I am a new player here and Disl explained me the ins and outs of the mage strategy over here. I can only say claiming that I can't think for my own is very arrogant from your part (especially since we owned you 2 vs 4). This game isn't overcomplicated once you know the rules to play it. I'm not saying I'm some genius but I'd say my math and logical reasoning are more than ok :).

You make it sound as though some great achievement. We haven't coordinated a single run. Hell, we rarely even communicate.
combined with the fact I haven't played in about a decade and am playing a race and strat I've never tried before (and frankly have no idea what the hell I'm doing).
Add to that Shadow has done far more damage then either of you two. (I'll admit I deserved it from Shadow, but regret nothing, would do again)
No sense blowing smoke up your own butt at this point.
especially when Shadow is kicking both your butt's at this point without much effort

Wait, where did I do that? I simply stated we owned you 2 vs 4. You even have the self proclaimed greatest player of all time in your ranks!

Correction: you haven't coordinated and you rarely communciated with them ;-).

I haven't played prom for a decade either. Heck, I have never even played on this server until this fall.

You're thinking taking somebody's land is doing damage, that's so 2005. You haven't been using the market a lot I guess ;-).

You just need to cloak more on Krowdon.

As for Geir, your first mistake was ever taking Sevz seriously.
As far as damage, you really missed what was going on entirely.
And no, I don't use the market. Prices are poo and I'm not giving my hard earned cash to one of you lot

This is too funny. Is there anyone that has been mocking him and laughing with him more than I have?
I'd say market prices have been rather fluctuating. You just have to buy in bulk. Ask snare everything about it ;).

You could buy Shadow's food and steal it all after it leaks from bank (~6 hours).  And if score ranking placement concerns you so much, follow up with poisons on him. With all that food it should put you in 1st (11 bil food is about $300 mil networth)

Gier is doing well, especially compared to last round.  Really impressed how consistent he has been with leader, and his cooperation/communication.  I asked him to clan up because indy is expensive without a foreign aid partner to spam to. That was my call. Gier had 14 mil leaders on 80k land, and snare had the poison and eventually steal on him all in the same run thanks to war declaration. Leader suicides are no joke in this game.

Still waiting for Sevz myself. I signed up specifically to deter him. Hope the mongy is doing well, he has been ignoring me these past 2 months :(

How do you think I pissed him off the first time

Hmmm, seems Sevz has taken offence to me now as well. Must've been something I said.
Should make for an interesting end to the set.
Honestly, I'm just grateful for the attention

I've never done the foraging thing before, I think turn for turn it basically keeps up with indy, without the upkeep. Defense is garbage obviously, but raw output it's about par, and you can scrape really well since your output isn't tied to hp anymore, not to mention extra healing as a ferret.

Good times.

So without me to muck things up, did the little Sevz/Snare/Disl pact break up then? Interesting. Also hi guys, I took a break for awhile, real life stuff like wrecking my car and whatnot kind of got in the way, but I'll give the new set a try.

I had one specific goal this set.
My aim for this set was try and stir up all kinds of crap in hopes of garnering more activity.
It didn't really work

I was a quite annoyed Snare/Sevz were able to get a total land lockdown 2 rounds ago, which I failed to break. So I signed up to make sure it didn't happen this past round. I ended up partnering with Gier which I didn't regret. I would partner with Snare again but we would run away with the set in all honesty  :D
Welcome back Volky!

I enjoyed the posts you made to break the silence weekly. I see them but don't always participate.

So..  clearly I haven't been paying much attention to current game trends

We have:
3 Lizards (1 in protection)
2 Rats
1 Ferret
3 Fox  (1 in protection)
1 Wolf  (in protection)

Indies outnumber leader players?  With one leader player in the top 5?

getting control of the market was a big thing last round. Of course, with that setup there won't be anyone around to buy, or even theft, so I doubt that will stay.

Leaders suck Windy. About time you learned that.

The indies are only keeping their net because the leader players allow it
I notice I haven't been sacked once this round, just captures.  Shows a bit of wariness to engage, which is absolutely warranted.  I'm just waiting on a target.

Seriously though, this is kinda fascinating -- Indies keeping net out in the open, and leader players lagging (though I'm guessing more due to inactivity than anything else (?))

I don't see any point in sacking at this stage. It only gets you in trouble while grabbing less land. Unless you deliberately want to do damage or someone is sitting on a ton of resources, like Sevz and his pile of food, using the drive attack gets you more value.

Pretty sure this new market makes forager a viable strategy if you are active enough to make market robbing hard. It was pretty fun last set.

Sack just doesn't yield enough to really be worth it. I feel like it's been heavily nerfed in the years I was away. Now it's kinda pointless
Title: Re: It's too quiet in here.

It's quite strong eventually. It's just that nobody has a big enough stockpile just yet.

It hasn't been changed in a very long time.

No, no.  Ignore Shadow.  Sack gives like no returns, it's never worthwhile.

Also my leader math is incredibly rusty.

Oh right, yea I changed sack a while ago so you actually pay the guy you're attacking.

tried to spark activity last set, now this set I'm finding it hard to run turns. I play during downtime at work. Lately, there just hasn't been much down time. Having to run turns a few here and a few there, cause it's rare I can get through much more then 100-200 turns before either someone calls or a weather change demands my attention. Hell, it's getting hard to get a bathroom break some days.
