With the same code as the regular server buy with faster turns.

If someone wants to keep that other code, give it it's own server. Some of the reason I left was because turbo changed and I feared reg would Eventually go with it. After asking around, I've found I'm not the only one.

General Discussion / abandoned? :(

I just spent an hour explaining to my Girlfriend how important RWL is to my life. But... now it looks like 2 or 3 people remain... what is going on over here? Did the admins leave too?

After over a year of work my band's album is out!

I play drums, some backing vocals and sound effects, helped a lot with production and was like the adviser.

How many people has this site lost due to the new code?

I'm one of them, if there a list of people who haven't really come back since Turbo died?

Yell, yell, yell, Female dog, Female dog, Female dog.

RWL, where we go to fight, not necessarily in game.

Reg Discussion / Game over
January 21, 2012, 12:52:44 AM
I think the Reg's population has gone down about ten players in the last few weeks. Perhaps Temple's victory has already started to bore some who easily walk away from the battlefield.

Should we reset the game soon?

Or does someone believe they can take us down?

May take the whole server

General Discussion / Just a little story
December 23, 2011, 01:04:30 PM
I don't know if I ever told anyone about this but it struck my mind while looking at the forums and thought I'd share.

When I was in Middle school, about 13 years old I found RWL through use of the internet at the library. The school was within walking distance of my house with the library in between so I got into the habit of going there every day after school. At the time you could use the computers for 30-120 minutes depending on how busy it was and they had a frustrating set of rules; of course you must have a no porn rule within the library, but the no gaming or chat rules were pretty lame.

Though Library workers would kick off people who broke the rules, no one ever knew that RWL was a game so I always got away with playing it since the day I found it until this 22 year old or something started working.

He saw me playing and told me I had to get off. I was very angry and don't remember if I was able to complete my turns that day.

Throughout the next week or two I was able to get away with using my turns without him seeing since I was aware of him, but one day when I was researching some Final Fantasy stuff so that it looked like I wasn't playing games he stopped to chat and it turned out we were meant to be great friends so he asked about RWL and I showed it to him. He never showed interest in playing but would allow me to and I would sometimes fill him in on wars with Wolf Snare and what not. Cause Snare was probably my first enemy. HAHA.

Brad had actually worked there before I found RWL but then went on a mormon mission, he doesn't truly believe in all of it or follow its rules though. His mom also turned out be a teacher at the high school I would later go to and always hope to get in her class. I never had her as a teacher but she gave me a framed Beatles poster.

I would hang out at his house and play Halo until like 3 in the morning when we'd finally crash so my mom was worried that he was a child molester. Some other kids that were slightly older than me were also his friends and one time their mom came and picked them up from his house outraged that they were at this fat child molester's house. He of course doesn't molest children... that I'm aware of.

Cool guy, we're still good friends and I've probably benefited from our friendship in multiple ways.

Thanks RWL!

Polling / Devin Townsend
December 12, 2011, 04:58:53 PM
Devin Townsend (in my opinion) is one of the best musicians of today. He's released more than 18 albums in the last 15 years after seeing how much he didn't approve of how the music industry worked as he sang lead vocals on tour with Steve Vai.

Strapping Young Lad
Devin Townsend Band
Devin Townsend
Devin Townsend Project

All albums produced and written by Devin Townsend.

He also has comedy and ambient albums

It's hard to link to something on YouTube because each of his albums are practically a brand new genre and you have to listen to a few of his CDs before you start to get it.

My mom isn't into heavy Metal and she loves at least three of his albums

What happened to the Legends page where you can look at the scores of all the past rounds? That should be an important link from the index page

General Discussion / Moving to Cleveland, Ohio
December 01, 2011, 06:38:58 PM
Howdy folks, just so ya know, Melodramus and I plan to move to Cleveland, Ohio soon after our January and possible February concerts.

Hoping to see you blokes that are more in that area, we'll be playing shows in all the huge cities just a few hours outside of Ohio.

Let me know if you have any connections in those areas that would be happy to help a Progressive Metal Alternative band as well.

Thanks folks!

January 20 Tiger Bar Portland, OR
January 21 Tacoma, WA

Polling / Mona Bone Jakon
November 30, 2011, 08:51:07 PM
The man is one of the best song/melody writers I have ever heard.

If you've never heard him, please listen to "Tea for the Tillerman" "Teaser and the Firecat" or "Catch Bull at Four"

All of his albums are good in my opinion. But those three are pretty addictive and popular...

Did anyone else have to deal with that show as a kid in middle school or high school?

Never thought I'd be managing one of the band's featured in their "Hear it Now" Segment

General Discussion / quick task, please read
November 05, 2011, 12:42:39 AM
Hi guys! Some really awesome Utah bands are trying out for a contest that they actually have a very good chance of winning thousands of dollars and some good publicity. Unfortunately they need your help with a very quick task. Please sign up and vote for these three bands right now and hopefully every day after until the contest is over.

The winners are determined by votes plus musical quality and since these kids are well trained musicians they'll most likely have a good shot of winning as long as their votes are higher than the majority of the other bands.

http://www.schooljamusa.com/bands/harlem-shuffle
http://www.schooljamusa.com/bands/squash

Thank you so much!

Edit: I have more info!

We have three and a half weeks to get the bands to 5,000 votes and people are allowed to vote for multiple bands once each day, the bands with over 5,000 votes will be considered by the judges and the competition is mostly garbage compared to the others.

General Discussion / RWL needs new players!
October 07, 2011, 04:18:24 PM
Of course there are many ways to go about getting new players that we have tried (and mostly failed at) throughout the years.

I suggest using Twitter since it's the best thing I've found to get new fans for rock bands and what not.

only 2-10% of the people you contact on Twitter are likely to click over to RWL, but of course every time we get a new player that actually sticks around if feels worth it.

I have already begun but I think some others should join me. Less than 10 minutes a day on Twitter from just a few of us for a month could lead to more than 20 new players that stick around for a long time.

Process:

Create a Twitter profile. see: http://twitter.com/Blood_Wake

include the link to RWL in your bio and Website line, be sure to have a picture.

Now find a twitter profile relating to either strategy games or Redwall that has several thousand followers.

Follow 200-250 of the people who follow that twitter profile.

24 hours later about 25% of those people have followed you back.

Kindly send them a thank you message inviting them to play with us at http://redwallwarlords.com

Be sure to check your messages and @Mentions each day.

Problem: until about 1,800 people follow you, you can not follow more than 2,000 people.

Solution: Once you have done this for a few days and follow about 800 or more people, go to the list of people you follow, scroll to the very bottom and unfollow about 200 a day.

You can then go to the page of people who follow you and follow back anyone you unfollowed to prevent them from unfollowing you. (optional)

Let me know what you guys think!

So....

Several months ago, when Rome came out. I got a bunch of Danger Mouse produced albums, among them, "The Last Laugh" by Joker's Daughter

The other day I looked up the artist (a woman named Helena Costas) on Twitter and Facebook and she has way less fans than Melodramus...

Though one of her music videos does have 97,000 views and is pretty awesome.

So I messaged her and offered free services in getting her internet presence looking a little better, saying I'd only ask for payment if she became a millionaire due to something I did and that she has to give me a chance as her friend and possibly lend me some contacts in the future (Danger Mouse, lol)

she said yes of course so now I'm running a lot of her social media and what not. Haha. Silly eh?

I prefer you go to the Reverb to listen and watch music videos.

Thanks!

She's worth your time for sure!

General Discussion / Howdy
October 03, 2011, 04:22:12 PM
Hey guys, sorry I don't check in enough. How's the game going? Can anyone convince me to play if the game is currently being exciting? Feel free to solo message me in some way in order to plot mayhem or something.

Of course the real reason i'm here is to beg for some widget hits. So, please play some music/videos of my good friend and leader of my band, Jack Wilkinson

Edit: widgets are lame. http://reverbnation.com/JackWilkinson

thanks!
