Just finished probably the worst run in my rwl career including when i didn't know how to play.
Couldn't break the top people. There wasn't enough troops on the market and even if there i was i didn't have any cash to buy them with. So i basicly ran with about 10k land for the run and made next to nothing.
Is it gonna be like this untill someone breaks the top two indyers.

Its time to make Anzac cookies  :D
This is an aussie recipe that i really like to make and they taste awesome.

You need:
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup plain flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup coconut
125g (4oz) butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 tablespoon boiling water

Combine oats, sifted flour, sugar and coconut.

Combine butter and golden syrup, stir over gentle heat until melted.

Mix soda with boiling water and then add it to the melted butter mixture.

Stir it into the dry ingredients.

Place tablespoons of mixture on lightly greased oven trays (i use baking paper placed over the trays), allow room for spreading.

Cook at 150 degrees C (300 degrees F for the americans) for 20 mins.

If you like them chewy you should take them out at 20 mins mabey a bit before. Leave them in for about 5  mins longer if you like them crunchy.

Enjoy

I had another thought

How about one that double the protection of raised defences. ie so leaderers trying to sack you only get half as much.

Strategy / Re: Sharing your findings
March 26, 2012, 10:06:28 PM
You can pretty much force the old indy strategy to work for you. So this is one indy start i have found to work for me. It is more productive than the "build up defenses at the end" strat and often if you do it right you can render all their preparation void by blowing through their troops with ease. Mind you i have not tried many other strats so im not sure if it is the best.

So i attack for land and build up around 15% foragers (so that i don't have to buy food), 10% huts (so that i can used the different buffs) and the rest into barracks. With the food i know many people prefer not to build foragers but i like to as it helps save money. Also i have long been an advocate of putting up enough foragers to keep food income in the green. That way you can start to build up a base networth which can help you when you need to break those nasty land lockers (it keeps you in nw range). Also as a solo indy it gives you a way to get a top 10 position fairly easily.

One thing you must do though is continue attacking all the time. The only time you should be buffing or otherwise is when you are healing up to attack yet again.

When choosing what units to make i usually choose to go with weasels. Though i often switch to rats or stoats depending on what the demands are. I choose weasels because they eat more food than cash. With my forager setup this is ideal as it lets me make more while being able to field the cash for them as cash is almost always your biggest concern. Also weasels are quick to make and often are the easiest troop type to choose to break an opponent.

On selling to the market, when you have put troops up on the market you should always check the prices up there and aim to sell it for one less than the person who is selling them for the lowest as this will undoubtedly give you the highest most secure prices. And always check back to lower your prices to below the lowest person to ensure that your troops sell.

What about aa spell called buff.
It would increases your networth on the score pages by a certain amount. Kinda like reverse cloak.

Also mabey a spell called sacrifice for say the painted ones where you can sacrifice a percentage of your troops to gain workers.

Just a few ideas ill keep thinking.

Hmm i see the dilemma

Would it be better if we based the tax on the amount of NW a player has rather than how much he has times the average. Also how is the average calculated? Does it include people in protection?

Also with the aiding the emperor cash. Technically it is still using the market and the people buying still have to buy the troops. Could you give me scenario where it helped the emperor to sell his troops for cash.

Also i had an idea about the market that would add more diversity. If you took away the upper and lower limits of selling prices and instead limited the sell prices to within a range of the average sell price. It would mean that if the market became flooded the prices would restrict themselves until the market was bought out. It would also mean that people couldn't store troops at the highest prices and bring them down later as they would always be in a "buyable" range.

Another thought. Could we perhaps add in again the remove from market just at around 50% loss. That way it would just be used for desperate circumstances and hopefully not abused. It would also mean at the end of the round people would be able to pull half of their unsold troops from the market.

Also before i forget would it be possible for there to be a way to combine troops that are selling at the same price that way the market does not become impossible to navigate and neither does the sell page.

At what point does the tax get to 50%.

Im just wondering cause that seems like a crazy amount. And at that point it would seem as if you needed the most amount of cash to look after your army.

Not everyone is out to bash you sevz your are just normally on top and so when changes are made to balance you are normally the first to get hit. Its not cause its you its cause of what the warlord on top is doing at the time.

With the tax the difference was that i never used to use the market ie i sold my troops to mercs.

Also with merc prices. Im not saying to raise them back to where they were but just a bit higher. Like for instance im currently selling weasels at rock bottom price and i get about 6 bil cash for 10 mil weasels but if i sold those same weasels to mercs i get about 2 bil cash. If we could just raise the selling prices a little it would mean that if you ran out of cash in the middle of a run you could get some more at a loss but not as big of a one as you currently face.

At the beginning of the round when you have had no income from the market it makes it incredibly difficult to start up. Mabey i have been doing it wrong but last time i had to juggle between all four troop types just to get through half of my turns. And i was loosing money each time. All i was doing in fact was making food :S.
