Title: Reset delay
Post by: Peace Alliance on April 28, 2007, 09:23:03 PM
I'm hoping to get a good setup for the next turbo set. Shael has a busy schedule with exams though, so for now the reset is being postponed till the 1st of may!

good luck sliding into those last ranks before the reset guys!

You know, this is exceedingly...uncool. Some of us based our finishing strats around the reset being upon the 28th, and this totally messes us over.

EDIT: Actually, at this rate, it's going to completely destroy me and Gladius' standing. I'm going to go on the record right now and say that I really don't appreciate this move in the least, and while I don't want to accuse you of cheating outright, the fact that your teammate now has had time to inflict a fair amount of damage upon us (when he didn't have the opportunity before) seriously upsets me, especially since our team was in a war against yours.

Actually, thats pretty much is an outright accusation.

I regret the need to delay the reset, Shael's exam schedule is unfortunate - however it's important we respect peoples busy lives.

How long does it take to reset the game? From what I've seen, it only takes pressing a single button.

I just don't think it's fair that your Admin decision benefited your team so much.

let me first just say.... I dont see why you are so upset. I always had the ability to ruin your guys's networth, except for the suspicious failure to open attack opertunity on Rudder's account.

But let me tell you, this is far from a war. the first half of the set, when we made you delete, was when we were ACTIVE in your ?"war." me and PA only started playing actively again on the 26th. so basically you two were unchallenged the past couple of weeks while you made 600 bil cash. I mean, do you really think you'd have been able to hold onto that if we were going around robbing your cash and food supplies daily? I dont.

I give you guys credit for putting forth such effort to win, but you have NO right in accusing PA for cheating because of this delay. If he cared in the least about this so called war, he would have listened to me over the past weeks to rejoin and assist me in ruining your guys attempts. Trust me, this has become more my war than his.
If you stil honestly think you could have prevailed all things aside, think back to when we wre actually perticipating. and to tell you the honest truth, we werent even playing at half speed.

so cling on to your glorious victory, if that's how you see things, but I hope you know this hasnt resolved a thing. If you want a real war, start recruiting, and we will get to it next set. Surely, these accusations of cheating and your self proclaimed victory in your enemies abense, will be enough to convince PA to join in and show you what its really about. I know im ready to.

Like I said, I believe that I have a legitimate reason to be suspicious, and that is the simple fact that his Admin decision benefited his team immensely. Also, if he really was playing after the 26th, then that makes it even worse, since he just got done telling me he generally doesn't play for the last 48 hours of the set when I asked about the exact time of the reset. (And since the 28th marked the end of the set up until late last night...)

EDIT: Maybe I wouldn't be so uptight about it if stuff like this hadn't happened before...

you go ahead and ask shael when she gets done with her exams, and you will see if any of this was PA's decision. I reccomend a sincere appolegy to peace when the time comes.

Everyone was put out be the delay,we all planed for the 28th but things changed so we all have to deal with them.to start throwing around accusations of cheattin is a bit much and is way outta line

Well, I'm actually going to apologize for the way in which I brought this up right now. I'm honestly unsure exactly what would have been a better course of action, but I cannot shake the distinct impression that I handled this poorly. I still believe that my complaints are legitimate, but I'm sorry, Peace, for the poor method in which I delivered them.

it would have been better if the extension wasnt announced on the day of the reset
but atleast on turbo there's significantly more to do than just hitting a button.  if you just want a standard setup thats fine (and it really is only one button) but for turbo the admins like to introduce special setups and variety that take time to setup

Since the reset is supposed to be on the 28th, why not just take a scores record from then, getting the "official" results? These could then be the results posted at the end of the set. Any further play would be off the record.

That way, you'd have all the time needed to wait for Shael, and we wouldn't have any hard feelings or accusations of cheating.

I should be studying for my exam tomorrow, but whatever.

It wasn't just Peace's decision, he had IMed me on the 28th, asking when we can get the reset started, and suggested a theme for the next round. I didn't see the IM until late evening cause I had a busy day, and the theme he suggested would take a lot of preparation that I couldn't learn how to set up in an evening. I still wanted to go ahead with it though, so it was my suggestion to delay the reset until after my last exam, when I would have plenty of free time.

Sorry that this has caused a lot of trouble for some people. =/ Next round will better though.

Well, I've already apologized privately, but since my grievance was executed publicly, I thought I should also apologize publicly. So...I'm sorry for being such a jerk about this, Peace.

Sorry I was out of town during this.

Idea: When this happens again, why not post the winners and let people practice the last few days?  Still not to late?

i figured since the extension was somewhat longer then normal. that people should be rewarded on the final ranking for the work they do during those days.

next time i'll do the immort immediatly. :\

Quote"ps - i dont care how easily you odlbies could have ruined my net, the point is you didnt "

*Agrees along with Peace.*

Also, Snare, I quit actually playing once the immortalization occurred, and I'm quite sure I wasn't the only one
