Post by: Wyanor on May 02, 2012, 01:31:08 PM
Has anybody here ever played the card game Magic The Gathering?

I play semi-regualaly.  I have 6+ decks that i activly use and repeatedly win and loose.  I use decks in all of the colors and am one of the best my immediate area

I bought a 285 card pack for 20 bucks. Then I made several decks. I only use my white slash green deck though. Those colors make an awesome deck together.

I got a bunch of cards from the Innistrad series and they were all so good that I made an oversized deck.

Oversized can be dangerous.
Title: Re: MTG
Post by: Camaclue on May 02, 2012, 07:30:13 PM
that's why I balanced it with 1/4 of the deck being basic lands
Title: Re: MTG
Post by: Durza on May 02, 2012, 08:03:08 PM
land and mana pumpers all factor into the stlye of the deck.  Fast decks need fewer land, slow decks a little more.

@Cam I like innistrad esp. my werewolf deck.  I am hopeing that wizards continues to be good with its new sets so they are amazing like Ravinica or Alara, not Eldrazi

I balance it out evenly. Half mana green and half white. I only use 20 land in all.

I wanted to make it a 60 card deck, but the cards were just SO GOOD
I also got a couple of cool foils and a double sided foil.

Where can you find the cards? I've never heard of this. I'd like to try it out. I was a Pokemon fan, so this might be a cool thing since Pokemon is crap. Someone in my school had some cards. One of them had 10k hp, and another one had 100k! They were probably fake though.

You can get MTG cards in your local Wal Mart in the trading cards section. Its easy to understand and way more fun than Pokemon. You should get the 20 dollar box of 285 cards instead of a dumb intro pack. You only get 60 cards for 6 dollars less. The big box is blue with fan art, reusable storage, rule pamphlet, how to play pamphlet, and deck building tips pamphlet. Each box also is completely different then all the others. In other words your getting random cards. But I got tons of powerful cheap ones.

My uncle introduced me a few months ago. When he was younger he spent over 2,000 dollars on those cards. But he had a friend who spent 4,000 or mabye 8,000 dollars on them.

I'm not a big spender either. Probably because I have no allowance. I have at least a thousand Pokemon cards but that's because I have been collecting since since I was 4. I stopped around last year, and most of them are from my cousins who are around 20-something.
