Mostly what Windhound said.

You can pretend you're being a nice Guy Snare, but at the end of the day you're helping Sevah, who is only using his position as emp to try and force Shadow into implementing changes he wants (well, this is how I see it anyway, it might be different)
I'm not pretending anything. Heard of trial and error? It's the course of BETA. That's what's going on ingame. There will be a few rounds yet before the game is ready to be released on reg. If Sevz didn't do this, someone else would in the future and the game would remain unbalanced. For the record, I'm hardly even working with Sevz, I've been in Ottawa for the last 5 days looking at places to live, my involvement is minimal. Windy can check my turns used here as well.

QuoteYou had beta access, whether you ran only 1000 turns or not is kind of irrelevant, that's 1000 turns more than most people, and it gave you a bit of a kickstart.

You also have the advantage that you're teamed up with other people.
How do you figure? I stayed below 10m NW in all my tests, you don't need mass networth to find bugs. People like Volk used the test server to lock and test strategies, I was one of the few that actually used it to help the coding process (I know you were one assisting in this, too) but please don't imply I was cheating or have any advantage. & honestly, you have a 10 man clan, and im solo, so I don't know what you're talking about.

QuoteBecoming a lackey for Sevah namely, then helping him dominate the server during Beta testing and putting people off of the new code because they can't make much networth, when a large contributing factor to this is locked down land.

Oh and I appreciate you're trying to be friendly, but please do not call me bro.

Okay? As I stated, my involvement is minimal at best. I am helping people learn the new code, so I don't know why you are accusing me of this nonsense.

Guilty conscience eh Snare?
Honestly, my post wasn't aimed at you.
It was aimed at this thread as a whole, Sevz' emping, and Cloud - who stated that Sevz was solo.

Also, I suppose I could have clarified, when I said "this" is an abuse of the beta access/trust, I was referring to Sevz's emping.  And it is.  We allowed him to hang out in the beta server, he fiddles around for a little bit, kills another beta tester, and leaves with basically no constructive feedback.
To a smaller amount, those helping him are absolute twits, but whatever.

If you're just playing the game and helping people then no worries -- don't have such a guilty conscience Snare.
But at the same time, don't stand up for Sevz when he's being a flaming tard.

Again, I never stated Sevz was solo...This thread wasn't about Sevz, and VTN never came close to Sevz NW.

The value of what sevs is doing is past at this point. And you and his team have been abusing the market to get around aid limits all round, which is what the problem is.

Yes, it is helpful to abuse a bug ONCE, and then undo the damage you did and report it. When you continue abusing things it is not helpful and creates a poor environment for the rest of the game, who might otherwise also be able to actually play things out and test features instead of having to waste time dealing with the fallout of repeating things.

Yes, we can now code out some stuff that should not be there. The problem everyone is having is that you (read: your team) continue to take advantage after the bug is known.

The problem really is that our rules are too loosely defined and are therefore hard to enforce, which we should remedy.

Sevah has actually been anything BUT helpful in this process. The only reason I know problems is from looking at his account, not because he reported anything or was in any way helpful. Which means that I'll have to keep adminning instead of playing over the whole process if I want to get anything done on that front, which is a pain in the [Behind].

Okay, fair enough. Nuke him if you feel that way, you're the admin. I have been away for the last 5 days and have run once in between, last I heard he was giving you constructive feedback and was actually helping you fix things, and furthermore you two are actually getting along? Anyways, I feel you're all taking this situation out on me when I really am a minor part in it. Go look at my last few runs, I think you'll find I was completely solo and my turns only benefit myself. So in theory, almost half of my turns (the most recent half) have been solo. If you don't like what's going on, change it.

Okay, misunderstanding-- agreed to disagree. I have no guilty conscience, though. The lock holds no merit with me, I could honestly not care less about anything going on ingame atm. I was more thrown aback by the hate mail on here, but I should have explained myself further.

Ask yourself one question - does this sound remotely like anything Sevah would ever do?

Wolf Snare

Well, I tend not to judge people if I can and always look for the best in each situation. Call me naive, but the casual way sevz brought this up in chat lead me to believe it was legitimate-- I don't know, as stated I've been busy with IRL stuff, the few moments I talked to him over the weekend I didn't think to analyze and sift through for validity. Can you kindly turn your sour tone toward someone more deserving?

I appreciate it's not good to presume or judge without evidence, but Sevah has a pretty bad track record with regards his benevolent acts for other people . . . in fact by my count those number 0

Making a judgement based solely off of what Sevah told you isn't exactly a good thing either . . .

Fine, although I think it would do a lot in many people's opinion of you if you were to actually TRY and help break this darn lock Sevah's got going

Well, again, as stated, I'm really busy and don't have the time to commit. And you should know I'm not really one to do or act a certain way just to please people.

Solo is a viable strat, I'm content with it.

Misread, sorry Cloud.
I don't see the point in this thread, but whatever.

Snare, there's little point trying to justify Sevz this round.  Sevz is just Sevz.
He's not being helpful, he's being destructive.  He doesn't like Shadow (understatement) and as Shadow was a major force behind RWL3 he seems determined to break it.  He was invited to the beta as a show of good will and he shat all over us.  Playing the way he is this round he continues to fling poo.
By watching the way the dung is spread out we can indeed learn some things about the game, but its by far the least useful form of feedback.  Meanwhile, the rest of the game is land starved - preventing other people from playing as well as they might have otherwise.
Please don't stand up for him.

The point of this thread was to taunt VTN for taking a week, and 8 players (mostly vets), to reach my NW.

I think most other people's points are that VTN took so long to do so because only the top solo players have access to major land flow, Sevah pretty much owns the market, nobody really has any idea what they're doing, and Sevah and his chums have worked to batter us down (just yesterday, Sevah chaosed about 30 mil of our networth, any idea how we should protect against that?)

We have made some ground this round, but we lost it almost as quickly as we make it, you guys have a pretty good head start on us which makes it pretty difficult :/

I think you'll find, after being informed (specifically by shadows edit) that I was only sticking up for myself. Others seem to split hairs in an attempt to hold their ground in an argument which undoubtedly roots back to a dislike of myself. I don't believe I was in the wrong-- I was accused of misusing the test server and chasing noobs away, when infact I did the opposite in the test server and am teaching people.

Maybe if VTN didn't have 75% of the  land (not including Sevz) spread across 8 people they'd have a chance. That's the major problem with clan play; land starvation, and it's even worse when there's already a lock going on. Also if you guys didn't constantly online me I might be more open to the idea of opposing sevz rather than being indifferent in the name of profit.
