 it's up!

We've had a bit of a problem with things like...ah...crontabs. they're kinda important stuff, but I figured that we messed up everyone's day getting them online at 3:00, and that it would be unfair to delay it...so you just get it without the turns every 10 minutes...and without automated rank-updating.

 http://warlords.iboze.com is the new site. The old one (http://rwl.xepher.net or www.xepher.net/~rwl) will quite likely be shut down soon.

 How did people who are numbers 40-90 get ranked high so fast? I'm 7, and ranked 60 something! O_o;;; maybe I have a bad strat. I can't wait till everyone gets out of protection./

 I hate cheating. You will be caught, so why cheat. Besides, experienced players will still be able to beat you, even if you cheat.

I bet you that in a month, there will be many disable and deleted accounts. This reset did little to protect us!

 Right now, I'm following a policy of doing "Turn Packages", where I give everyone the amount of turns that would have been given since the last time I gave out a package.

So far, I've given the one pack of 12 turns at 5:00 EST, and another of 39 (at 11:30)

Sorry for the inconvienience of the not having automatic turns. We're working to fix it.

 I have a great idea...why don't we let the admins deal with the problems at hand (for example, no turns/auto updating of ranks) and then pester them later?  They're a bunch of hardworking people - they'll get to all the bugs and complaints in due time.

and I'm off to bed. I might get one in during the day tomorrow, but if not, sometime around 3-4 I'll get one out again...hopefully turns will be fixed by then. ::jabs Boze::

 The game code is the same as the old server. So it something with the new server that doesn't like the auto turns in the codes.

 Boze: Is there a newer version of PHP available? Maybe you should ask Xepher what version of PHP and what OS they are running. This sounds a lot like you have a older version of PHP.

 ingenious...I wish I could claim responsibility for figuring out how to fix this, but it goes to Stormy. We now have automatic turns running (by commanding our xepher.net script to run our iboze.com script)...and there's been a turn pack of 82 turns. but no more turn packs! yaaay!
