  • Juska: Which one has a beaver? Hamster/Beaver thought is still basically a rodent, much different than a horse. Also. where does all the milk come from for the cheese if there are no cows? Or goats or other types of milk producing animals from which to make cheese?

  • windhound: Jacques answered the milk/cheese one here - [link]  plant-based milk, plant-based cheese

  • Shadow: I need to reread that series. It's been like 15 years...
    March 01, 2018, 09:54:40 PM
  • Juska: I would prefer the answer to be, hey literary license guys. No one wants to eat plant cheese.
    March 04, 2018, 07:40:12 PM
  • Shadow: who are the literary license guys?
    March 04, 2018, 10:03:59 PM

    March 05, 2018, 09:20:17 PM
  • Shadow: It always struck me as odd. This was back when he still sort of tried to address scale differences between characters. Didn't last long.

    March 06, 2018, 04:08:31 PM
  • Juska: They eat fish in other books, Taggerung I think for sure. Otters are predatory animals.
    March 07, 2018, 06:59:55 PM
  • Juska: Also. Grammar police (aka Shadow) let me rephrase: Hey guys, literary license. And windhound real mice eat real (made from mammal milk) cheese.
    March 07, 2018, 07:01:06 PM
  • windhound: Fish don't really count as Jacques didn't give them a voice
    March 07, 2018, 07:03:28 PM
  • windhound: I was mainly thinking species like weasels, which will absolutely eat a mouse
    March 07, 2018, 07:04:41 PM
  • windhound: ..actually I think some of the big snakes were predatory and ate some vermin?
    March 07, 2018, 07:04:59 PM
  • Shadow: It's implied that the monitor lizards in Pearls of Lutra eat other vermin, too
    March 07, 2018, 10:18:21 PM
  • Briar: Asmodeus was def. a carnivore in Redwall.
    March 14, 2018, 02:50:52 PM
