haha 4th, i didn't try to place good. That's unlucky, this last week i was only around to destroy a few people (successful), had to get in range with net to avoid desertions, This proves that diplomacy doesn't always win.
I was targeting Nobles minus Volkov or Nightwolf, no placing in the top ten shows that diplomatically great players like Peace Alliance, Shadow, Hounds of Ulster and Genevieve aren't able to thrive under pressure, nothing against the abilities. It's a matter of who's after ya, when there's veterans taking you guys down, not alot people can do. Well done to Snare, Alazar and co on all that massive damage, you guys are monsters

Super congrats to Nova/Mystic Frost, second round here and already winning, everyone should know Nova=best player in the world.
Great work out of most you, heaps goes unseen, i notice a lot, keep it up, great hustle goin on
Depraved Vultures #13
Btw i still won the race to badgers gold  :o

took almost the whole round for someone to finally off me.  Died with a good bit of food and loyalty though, would've made top 10.

Sevzy... I do fine under pressure, as you well know. I was running indy is all. Took one for the team, boosted Nightwolf to 5th.

You're moving the goalposts -- for the umpteenth time -- which shows I embarrassed you and you realize it.  Maybe next time you should just learn to keep your mouth shut and then you won't get showed up.  But I'm not going to spend more of my time sending PMs to a guy who argues like a six year old.  I'm going to be too busy grabbing another top five finish -- heck, maybe if i feel like it, I'll go for the win.
Highest rank in Regular: #6 (August '08)

Also played as: Roadkill Collector (June '08) Gotten Smart (July), Mr. Holmes (August), That's What She Said (September)

And I had 150bil cash left-to be fair, about 200-300mil  of the 450mil cash I had was pip, so thanks pip :). Would've got 2nd either way if I would've spent my share.

Good grief.  You flat out have no idea what you're talking about.  Peace, Shadow and Volkov could place in the top ten in their sleep, if they really wanted to.

Second place this round might've been mine if I hadn't mistimed my move to the top.  Live and learn, though.  I must say, though, Sevz, I was surprised at how quickly you abandoned your suicide attacks on me.  Like I said, I was expecting more from you.

How very modest of you Checkerpaw, I also noticed that you seem to have conveniently ignored Firetooth's post.

Also according to my browsers spell-check 'Checkerpaw' is grammatically incorrect.

Hey Checker, you ran your mouth about me, i sacked you heavy with 6days to go forcing you to buy up early. You can't move turns for profit. I threw a few little leader strikes towards your spare hitlimit, you said nothing until the end of round.

I decided to stop wasting my time responding to all of Firetooth's posts.  I have nothing to be ashamed of, though.  Third place is a decent spot.

You didn't force me to buy up early at all.  I said nothing because I kept waiting for you to actually follow through on your apparently empty threats.

Third place is nothing to be ashamed of, unless you mouthed somebody off all over the forums, and even in pms to them, how much better you were then them (directly or indirectly), only to get beaten by 300mil net+ by them. You seemed awfully smug back then.
Seems to me you're just embarrassed you got showed up and are pretending it never happened. Oh well. Works fine for me.

I happen to have finished above you in at least one and possibly two of the last three turbo rounds I've played, actually.  (Don't know who you were in Round 27).  Regardless, the point is not how much better I am than you.  That's what you're always trying to make the issue about, but that wasn't and isn't the issue.

Incidentally, when I finished above you in Round 25, you had this to say:

Quote from: Firetooth on July 29, 2009, 01:38:25 AM
Lmao, you know I was blank, that one that stole 150bil from you at the start? :P I messed up later on though, but I was trying to stop sevz from getting your money anyways.
Besides, I would've had 1bil net but I sent my troops to be held for me so I could make more and they were standarded. Why do you think I was at 733mil at one stage and onl 500mil at the end? Oh, and I missed about a week of the round in total too.

http://www.redwallwarlords.com/forums/index.php?topic=10074.0

Oh look who's in THIRD, and what is higher, FOURTH or THIRD. Also, were you ever first in this round...lemme see. No. Blank was in first for a while, mostly just on food at one point.

You guys are silly. You both finish around the same place in scores each round, so I'd say you are pretty evenly matched. I bet that if Checker could stop correcting everyone's grammar you two would get along just fine.

We were pretty disorganized. The only times we ran together was if we happened to be on msn at the same time. My heart just isn't in this game when some tool is after me for no reason.

To Firegoose and Checker: Seems to me that you guys are pretty much even, the only thing i noticed is that I am pretty sure Checker was solo the whole time and goosey had some help. Idk for sure though.

Nice job to all on my team, we accomplished my goal of tearing up some empires and still managed 2 of the top 4 and 3 of the top 10. Had I not been killed and sacked so much at the end I think that Oblit, Cody, and I would have pulled far away from the game, and even noble. Noble did good, but not good enough.

For the record we only had 1 time where we really ran together as a whole team, oblit and I did one other time. Other than that nothing.

Sevz and Nova are nothing short of two amazing players. I am very glad to have them on my side. You guys were a huge help and we pulled it off in the end.(by a very large amount.)

If you are trying to put that on me thats a load of bull son. You killed me and therefore I am after you, ntm your on the opposing team. If your talking about Sevz then I totally understand why he is. You always talk so big and antagonize him. What do you expect him to do? Lick the dirt off your boots? Well, I'm defending them because it's laughable that someone -- ANYONE -- would dismiss Peace, Shadow and Volkov as not being "able to thrive under pressure" when "there's veterans taking you guys down."

To be honest, I'm ready to call it quits with this Checkerpaw rivalry (unless he's willing to accept my challenge from ages ag0), as it is pointless and irritating everybody.

Yep, you would've had like 650bil+. I might actually have been able to win with the camps I could've built if somebody hadn't maxed Sevah for a poor reason...
Also, it sucked that most of the people from noble were just people who ditched the Armarda early on.

450b of MY MONEY. Thats what I said and thats what I meant. We stole like 200bil from you. Sorry Pip, but your not quite in the elite league yet to truely compete for a win, especially not solo. You have improved alot, but you still have a long way to go. You are still behind players like Sevz,Shadow,Volky,PA,Snare,Nova and even myself.

Anyways we can argue about what could have been and if this and if that, but what matters is what is. What is....is that Noble lost and my team pulled out a dominating win. Most of the credit given to Nova for the actual net, but much of that was also given to him.

You are?
You aren't in the position to attack anybody's ability. Nobody is, tbh.
What matters is...most of Noble are in university and can't devote the same amount of time to the game as most of <<<>>> could. Also, ever heard of the "motivational" thing? I suffer from it on reg :(

This topic just looks like players *cough*Alazar*cough* boasting about what they will do this round, and how much better they are than other players.

Am I the only one tired of this . . . stop boasting and start doing, I appreciate your a half decent player Alazar, in fact your almost definitely better than me, but the boasting and bragging and "I Will do this" has to stop in my opinion . . . stop saying and start doing!

modesty is a quality.

Or working the day shift, in my case.

Yeah. What he said.
EDIT: I just realized...this is the first top 5/3 finish I've had for a while...kinda depressing. I also realized how many rounds I missed, or gave up after a few runs. Ouch. Procastination ftw!

I wasn't boasting much on my behalf to be quite frank. I am a full time student at a college with 17credits and I work full time.(Most of my shifts run from 2-10pm)

I proved a little last set that I wouldnt stand your some of the crap. I have my few credentials. I haven't won a ton of sets, but I have been a major, if not all of the reason that some of my friends won sets. This is why I have friends on here, good ones, and quite a few of them. I am generally not a very greedy person. I enjoy controlling who wins more then winning myself.

I really wasn't attacking anyones ability. Just proving a point that in all honesty Pip stood no chance of winning. Pip modesty really is a quality. So stop bragging about your own ability and DO SOMETHING, don't talk about how you coulda, shoulda, woulda won the set. Win one and prove yourself, I already have.

If you were talking to me, I won a set ages ago. You know, that one with smile, where we (eventually) pwned you guys?

Nope, not you. You have proven yourself. Pip has not yet though. Was Snare around that set or not?

Yeah he was, I remember because me and him had a flame war that made mine and Checker's current spat look like friendly banter :P
It was fun though, for sure.
But anyway, whilst about half the net I had when I won was mine, the other half wasn't, and earlier on in the round when I had 26bil, that definetly wasn't all mine. So that isn't exactly proving myself. Whilst I did do well that round, it was an aided win. I guess the runner-up was also aided, but meh.
I'm just not trying to steal credit that isn't mine. Feng did a ton of work that round.
