Title: The Mansion
Post by: Camaclue on September 21, 2011, 09:53:29 AM
Six beasts, locked in a mansion on a dark night. Will they escape? Who would lock them in here? And most importantly, WHY?

(Here are the rules. 1. You must send me a message if you want to enter. Add any info about your character, any strengths, weaknesses, and such. DO NOT post it on the forums! You will be disqualified. 2. This is a SERIOUS RP. That means, NO breaking the fourth wall, NO chat-style writing, NO teleporting out of the mansion, and NO invincibility. at least two characters will die. I will send you a message, so you can be prepared. 3. Have fun! If you feel like the RP is getting boring, or you're too busy, either ask somebody to take your spot, or leave. I won't mind. More info will be coming after I get 3 characters, not including my own.)

NO chat-style writing

Not to be a jerk, but your previous thread and posts are all chat-style writing. Is this going to be like, actual paragraphs and stuff?

*nods VERY SERIOUSLY* Imagine it like a book. Of course, there will be some silly moments, like a pie to the face and such. But if you have problems with doing paragraphs, just tell me.

Okay, three characters have been chosen. They are Durzak the weasel, Krowdon the fox, and Dark Claws the wildcat, all sent invitations, all going to the same place. Who will live? Why have they been chosen? WHO IS THIS MYSTERIOUS SENDER???? All will be revealed, when two more letters have been sent. Remember, send me a message with strengths, weaknesses, background, and anything you feel is important. And remember, no ferrets.
It's cuz there's already a ferret character.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, when it starts, the order of how the story will go is, me, Durza, Krowdon, Dark Claws, #5, and #6. And you can tell it in first person or third Person, as long as you tell it from your character's POV. You can use other characters, of course, as long as you don't kill them. I'll choose who dies. And I'll send you a notification if your character is going to die or not. Besides, this IS a mystery style story.

Okay! We have our five characters, though one is away till tomorrow. Now, we begin!

The ferret sat on the front steps of the mansion. The butler said to wait for the other four to go inside. He looked around the area, seeing nothing but grass and a tree here and there. He had gotten his note last, since he was told to be there in two days. Suddenly, he saw three beasts running towards the mansion. Cameron hid behind some bushes, wondering who they were. Thieves? Killers? Relatives? Then he could see them clearly. It was a weasel holding a book, a vixen, and a large wildcat, all with packs. "No means no, vixen!" the wildcat said. "But I want to marry you and be Krowdon Claws!" she retorted. The weasel ignored them, still reading his book. Once they reached the doorstep, Dark Claws knocked on the door. A tall, lean rat wearing a suit and tie opened the door. "Welcome. You must wait outside, there's still one missing." he said, slamming the door shut. The weasel looked at the door, surprised. "Well, that gives me time to read!" He said, sitting down where Cameron was. "Durzak, why are you still reading that book?" Krowdon said grumpily, staring at the weasel. Cameron peeked out of his hiding spot, stood up, and was tackled by Dark Claws.
Who are you, and what were you doing hiding?" the wildcat said. Without a reply, he picked up the ferret from the neck and proceeded to choke him. the doors swung open to reveal a young badger, looking at the four ragtag group. "Oh, hello there. You must be our four visitors. And that ferret isn't an assassin, Mister Claws." Cameron rubbed his neck as the four entered the beautiful mansion. "I suspect you're hungry. Nobus, take their bags to their rooms, please. Now, please sit down." As they removed their packs to be taken, They were surprised to see a Gila Monster sitting down already. "This is Scorlath. He has come from a village built where the caves of Luke's tribe was. Now, for our meal!" A large, lidded plate was placed in the middle of the table. Gareth removed the lid, revealing...(Durza, your turn)

... a platter of greens, ranging from water chestnuts to leeks and hotroot soup.  "WHAT IS THIS GARBAGE!!!" roared Dark Claws,  "What are you trying to to us badger, poison us?" Now up until this point Durzak was caring very little, just wanting to find another oppertunity to continue to read, however this outbust was simply unacceptable.  "Hold your tounge cat.  Our host was gracious enough to open his table to us and offer us food from his stores...  AND before you say I eat meat, yes I do I would have like to have seen some meat, eggs would have been fine and good..." said Durzak just as he was interrupted by a," stop picking on my Dark Claws, your so mean" from Krowdon.

Now while Durzak was speaking Gila Monster got up and scrambled out of the room, and Cameron sat there looking at the fare was about to devour.  "SILENCE," roared Gareth and the room suddenly became silent.  "Friends," the badger continued,"I invited you all here for the same reason and all will be revealed this evening.  I am sorry that my table did not appease but I will try better for this evening.  Now I assume that you would like to see the rooms I have prepared for you..." "I call with Dark Claws!" shouted Krowdon, Gareth gave her a stare and sat down quietly.  "As I was saying Nobus is done and will now show you to your rooms, as the butler walked in, "Nobus, please show our guests to their rooms. Durzak picked up his book as Nobus led the four out of the room and up a flight of stairs.  "These will be your rooms," pointing to four rooms all next to each other," the madem's is the farthest, followed by the ferret, weasel, and then the cat.  The Gila Monster is across the hall and please do not hesitate to call if you need anything," he said turning and walking down the staris.  The four travelers went to their doors and opened them...(Krowdon, you are up)

((Really guys? I know I said Krowdon has a thing for wildcats, but Females arent always that open about who they like, It is Kinda funny though. ANYWAY, RP time. I have to type this up fast because I've got a ton to do today, so pardon my lack of awesome in this post))

... Krowdon had stopped being impressed by the size of the rooms wealthy beasts had, so she did the sensible thing and began to unpack her bags. She had gotten about halfway through the second bag, when she found a small satchel inside it that didn't belong. The bag was rather heavy for its size, so she turned its contents out onto her bed. A single package fell onto the covers. Krowdon rolled her eyes at the unnecessary extra wrapping that somebeast did for this, but she opened the package to reveal a dirk with a sheath.

It was a nice gift, so Krowdon clipped the sheath onto her belt. Feeling slightly more adventurous, She left her room and knocked on Dark Claws door to see if he was interested in a little exploring.... (Take it away, DC)

Meanwhile Dark Claws was pondering his situation. Yes, he is usually not trusting, but not very loud at it. Jumpy, he decided. He was jumpy. It's because this place is creepy, and everyone is potraying a suspicious outlook. Except for that vixen, who was probably not dangerous. Or it could be a bluff and she really was evil. Or it could be a double bluff and she really was harmless. Unless it was a triple bluff...
BANG! The sound of his door being knocked on echoed through his head. It was just a little tap, but because of his parinia, he could here a pin drop. He already remodled some of the room, so he figured he was safe. For at least the next two seconds. He slowly opened the door. "Hi Dark Claws!" Krowdon began. "I thought you might want to see this..." Dark Claws tackled her out of the room. Immedietly, he was on top of her, the dirk sheath and blade somehow now on his belt, his face nose-to-nose with hers. Unfortuanetly for him, Durza realized he left his bookmark downstairs and was going to go get it. "OOOO," Durza said "Looks like somebody's making their move." If Dark Claws had laser eyes, the mansion would've been sliced through in about two seconds. "Shut... Up..." he slowly growled. Durza held up his hands "Hey, I'm not the one crossbreeding here..." Dark Claws then tackled him, shoving him into his room. Unfortuanetly for the both of them, Camacule chose this time to walk down the halls. "Aw man, that's messed up!" he said. Dark Claws's face was redder than the color. He rushed into his room and slammed the door fast. This sucked.

Scorlath paused in the doorway to see an interesting ritual between mammals insuing. It looked like the male would leap onto the female, then onto the male. Others would watch and comment. The Gila Monster strolled in. " Whazz gong on?" The wildcat jumped up. "Er, um, we were just.... ahem......"
"No need teh explain," the lizard said affably, dealing the wildcata massive blow to the shoulder in an attempt to be friendly. The wildcat unfortunately soared into the air and through the wall.

After an hour or two, Nobus called the five to dinner. As they went, Nobus went to Dark Claws' room, took the dagger, and hid it in his clothes. The idiots would never expect it.

Gareth welcomed the group and gave them each their platters. For Dark Claws, cooked fish, some salad, and a goblet of red wine. For Scorlath, cooked bird, some shrimp, and a cup of beer. For Krowdon, a platter of baked honey scones, a bowl of soup, and strawberry cordial. Durzak and Cameron had the same thing, a platter of mixed foods, soup, and a sweet drink. The five ate, not noticing Gareth leaving the room. When Cameron finished, he turned to see the badger in the doorway. "Sorry to interrupt your meal, but now for tonight's entertainment! Wait a while, as we prepare." he said, slamming the door shut, and locking it silently.

It was almost midnight when the vixen woke up, remembering what had happened. She woke up everybeast, but ignored Scorlath, remembering how dangerous he was. That rotten badger had drugged their cups, trapping them here. Durzak tried the door, thinking it would be locked. It wasn't, and then the weasel wished it was. Written in what looked like blood on the door was Get out of here. "I knew not to trust that badger!" said Dark Claws angrily. "He trapped us here, but why?" Krowdon looked upstairs to their rooms. "Maybe there will be something upstairs. Remember how I found that dirk in my stuff? Don't you have it hon?" she said, gesturing to the wildcat. "I did, but I left it in my room, and don't call me 'hon', vixen." The four ran upstairs to get the blade first, except Cameron, who took a mace form a suit of armor.

As they wandered the empty mansion, Cameron remembered about the graveyard in the back. Maybe there would be something there he thought. "Durzak, stop looking at those books, we gotta find out why we're locked in here!" Cameron said as Durzak read a book of poems and riddles. "Well, maybe we'll find something here. Libraries are places of knowledge, and I'll be able to solve this conundrum!" Dark Claws took the book from the weasel's hand and threw it out the window. "Reading a book of poems won't help you numbnut!" Durzak retorted, "Oh yes it did! Look, a graveyard!
Wonder if we'll find anything there?" (Continued on page Durza)

Now besides being completly irrational for the decision to go to the graveyard, it seemed like the best place to go besides home, but this was interesting.  "The graveyard?"asked Krowdon, "What makes you think anything is there?" "To start there is the likelyhood we will discover something about our mysterious host, second grave yards usually have a hidden catacomb, and third...," said Durzak before Dark Claws interrupted him like before,"Why not just go try the front door and get away from this place?"

The majority; Cameron, Krowdon, and Dark Claws agreed the front door would be the best option.  Durzak relented after persuasion and a blow in the gut from Dark Claws and followed, hobbeling all the way.  When the four reached the door the found it was locked, jammed and required a key,"I knew it the front door was too simple, graveyard anyone?".  The majority Cameron, Krowdon, and Durzak were able to convince the cautious Dark Claws with diplomacy and a threat of Cameron's mace.  To the gravyard it was.

It was a dark night cloud covered the moon, and the four knew this was the place for things to go bump this night. Krowdon hung close to Dark Claws, Cameron walked backwards scanning the aarea behind them, and Durzak walked in the front the air of adventure was heavy and it was going to be interesting. ((Hidden entrance to a crypt and mention the gila monster a bit. And two tunnels in the end!))

Scorlath followed behind the group as they made their way through the graveyard. He remained out of sight, trying to figure out what they could possibly be looking for.

Dark Claws felt uncomfortable about Krowdon hanging so close to him. He knew the vixen had some sort of crush on him, but he had not come to this manion to have some vixen clong to his every move. So he mubled some excuse and went to go talk to Durzak up in the front.  Dark Claws had only taken about 10 steps closer to Durzak, who was way ahead, when his higher density caused the ground beneath his paws to collapse, sending him down a staircase.

Dark Claws tumbled about 100 feet before coming to a stop at hte bottom of the staircase. His entire body was burning in pain from the fall, and he feared injury. The moon cast just enough light for him to glance around at his surroundings. He seemed to be in an underground crypt entrance, there were a few  torches still stuck in the walls, and the crypt seperated into two tunnels, probably where different families were buried. (( alright. Whoever is next))

Dark Claws shook himself off. Nothing broken, just slightly bruised. He's been through worse. He quickly assesed his situation. He had two tunnels in front of him, one more likely leading to death. He looked around for a clue, finding only a rat skeleton in front of one of the entrances. Curious, Dark Claws leaned in to inspect it. Near it was a few clothes, very well made and beautiful, while still comfortable and easy to move in. More likely a general, but possibly a warlord. After a moment's thought, he realized what it was. A weasel by the name of Deathsword led this army. Deathsword was more or less an assaisn with an army and some land. Dark Claws battled him many times before, defeating them time after time. Still, they were tough. And known for their size. In fact, they usually sent out a squad instead of a lone soldier. So why was this guy here? While Dark Claws ws thinking, Krowdon came down to check on him. "Are you okay?" she asked. "I'm fine, but look at this," he said showing her the tunnels. "One probably leads to an escape route. The other to death." "So let's go through this one." Krowdon said, pointing to the one wtihout the rat skeleton. "No, I think this is the one," he said, pointing to the one that seemed to have death written all over it.

Scorlath ambled past the knot of creatures and took the other road, humming happily. A drunked haze shrouded his eyes, and he tried to click his heels together, ending up on the ground. He hoisted himself up in time to see a dark shadow streak towards him. Drunk the gila monster may have been, but helpless he was not. He threw Bloodhummer, his warhammer, with deadly accuracy, splicing the ttackers head in two. He drew close and cautiously examined the body. It was some kind of fow, pithc black, with bone brace-and anklets. It held a tiny hatchet in one hand. And Scorlath, stoned as he was, tried to pick it up. His grog-inhibited fingers grazed the flint axehead. the drunkedness whooshed away, to be replaced by a steadily closing blackness. he knew that he was becoming posioned. He picked up Bloodhummer, and, with the might of Gilas past and future, threw off the cloak of death, at least for a short time. And then he turned back around. He had to warn those others.

Cameron and Krowdon walked through the corridor without the skeleton. Soon, they found it was a dead end, leading only to an empty room. They walked back, to be greeted by the corpse of Scorlath. Cameron checked the reptile's pulse. "He's dead," the ferret looked at the broken spear embedded into the body, "and it wasn't an accident. Come on Krowdon, we have to warn the others!" The two ran off just before an armored beast went to take the corpse away.

"You may have killed many enemies DC, but you just can't kill someone who looks at you funny." Durzak said. "That rat had an entire horde. They outnumbered my army 2 to 3! And he insulted my mansion. Go back to reading your book, you lousy, no good, reading... (etc.)" His rant was cut short by a set of stairs, causing the poor warlord to fall. At the bottom was a tomb, filled with empty graves. "Strange,"Durzak said, "The graves are all empty." The bruised, angry wildcat yelled at him. "Of course they're empty! There are huge holes in the ground. Most likely the bodies were stolen by grave robbers to practice medicine or something!" "Or maybe the bodies never left at all, sweetie." Krowdon said as she descended the stairs, pointing to an old wooden door, covered in bones and dirt.

"The best course of action seems to take the door," said Durzak.  "Are you kidding me, are you a FREAKING FERRET, why would we go through the door with bones on it?" retorted Dark Claws, "If you ask me we should just bust out of the mansion and go home."  This wild cat was just getting to be a little bit of a scardy cat, but this is not the time to be making pointless remarks, rembering what his mother told him when ever he said something pointless,"Pointless remark is pointless, don't say them Durzzak, honey".

'The mansion is locked, and whomever is behind this incident is probably following us, so the best option is forward," replied Durzak in his most convincing manner.  "I agree", said Cameron and Krowdon together, "Fine!" replied Dark Claws.  The four trooped to the door, and the four found themselves in the kitchen.  This kitchen was well stocked for the mansion it was, and the full moon as bright as is could be was shining through the large glass windows.  "Well that's just great," said Dark Claws, "we're back where we started", but the others were exploring searching for what could have caused their druged stupor, as well as why there would be a secter door.  Cameron moved to check the door...(Krowdon, next section plz)

... And ended up opening the door to a huge closet. Normally, this closet would be where food was stored, but instead of wheat and apples, the shelves were packed full of weapons. Cameron laughed. "Well, look at this interesting find we have here. Anyone want a weapon?"

Each group member helped take weapons off the shelves and organized them into categories. After a breif discussion, the group decided it would be better if they were armed, since with all the weird whatnots going on, it was better to be safe than sorry. Krowdon selected a battle axe from the pile, and also pocketed a whip, just in case she needed to interrogate somebeast.

(Derp. Wasnt quite sure what to do. Y'all can pick your own weapons. )
Title: Re: The Mansion
Post by: Dark Claws on October 17, 2011, 05:49:12 PM
Dark Claws glanced at the pile and turned away quickly. He had his own sword, with the hidden string attacked to make a makeshift bow. Besides that, he was quite literally armed to the teeth. He had tiny daggers on each canine that was placed so it could easily be spit at an enemy, while causing nothing but minor discomfort at certain times for him as well as some shards on his claws. Durzak quickly grabbed a mace and a bow with a quiver of arrows while Cameron grabbed a mace. Dark Claws thought the weapons here were a little strange, the closet wasn't much of an armory. This entire thing seemed familiar. Durzak also looked a little wary, but was busy shouldering the quiver. Dark Claws racked his brain to find out what was bugging him, then remembered where he saw this. When storming an enemy fortress, Dark Claws broke into the fort with a handful of his horde. They split up, Dark Claws heading up the steps to fight the enemy leader, the squad to protect Dark Claws' back. No enemies came though, and they grew restless. Eventually, they stumbled upon a pantry full of golden weapons. They eagerly grabbed a bunch, only to be ambushed by vermin right behind the closet, waiting for this to happen. Dark Claws was puzzled, why were there so many other warlords legacy here? Then, he and Durzak met eyes and both realized two things. The weapons would do no good in an attack, and they were being attacked.
The enemies leapt out the second Dark Claws and Durzak came to the realization, and the ensuring battle quickly followed. Dark Claws was more prepared as he had real weapons, and cleaved through his enemies quickly. Durzak, while not exactly armed, was somewhat expecting this and managed to get hold of a dagger from a slain enemy. Reading books about this helped extremely, and he was able to stab an enemy while deflecting other attacks. Krowdon and Cameron weren't exactly lucky, they still thought the plastic weapons had effect and tried using them to no success. Fortunately for them, Dark Claws killed off the enemies on his end and Durzak was almost finished. When Krowdon and Cameron had reinforcements, they enemies were almost immediately overthrown. While Krowdon patched up their wounds, Krodon picked up a real battle axe and whip. Durzak and Cameron had a choice.
(Tell me that is not a good way to let you guys pick out your weapons)

Cameron looked at Dark Claws. He was thinking about something. Cameron nudged him as the warlord came back to reality. "Grab a weapon, Krowdon found something. And what were you daydreaming about? You were looking into space." The wildcat looked down dumbly. "Just... thinking. You know, this might be a trap." Krowdon turned around from what she was looking at. "It was a trap,"  she said, wrapping the whip around her waist like a belt. "There's a notebook here with writing about an army of vermin. The cook killed half the army and fed the other half their comrades. Guess that skeleton was one of the lucky ones." The group left, thinking about the massacre that had happened where they were moments ago.

Cameron looked around the hallway, an exotic, single edged, curved blade at his side. The hallways were empty, and barely lit by the moon. Cameron called back, "I'll go with Krowdon to the right. Durzak, you get your buddy. Now let's find a way out." Durzak sighed with disappointment. Dark Claws sighed with relief. He wouldn't be with the mad maid. Cameron checked all the doors, but they were locked. Krowdon wasn't having any luck, until she opened a pair of doors to reveal a huge ballroom. Pumpkins with carved faces and lanterns stared evilly at the two. Webs lined the walls, and a suit of bloodied armor sat at the other end of the room. Whoever was doing this truly was a madbeast.

Durzak and Dark Claws checked each door, all locked. They reached a dead end, and headed back. Suddenly, a rat with ragged clothing and a dirk pounced on Dark Claws, pinning him to the ground. (Dark Claws lives to go to the village, by the way. Also, sorry for making your bit a daydream DC, it just didn't fit the story.)

With reflexes trained since childhood, Durzak sprung back and readied himself by pulling out a pair of daggers from inside his shirt.  The rat seeing this new threat knocked out Dark Claws, and prepared to assualt Durzak.  "Who are you?" Durzak asked not taking his eyes off of the rat.  "My master wants to see you," replied the rat as he rushed foreward.  Durzak, ready for this side stepped and hit the rat on the back.  A second later he noticed a thin line of blood comming from his cheek. "darn, he's good!" Durzak mumbled to himself as the rat regained his composure.  Hoping to press advantage Durzak rushed in, and a knife ensued.  The sound of metal on metal was heard, and each of the beast soon became covered with numerous nicks of the blades, though the rat had taken a severe stab to the side, and Durzak still had yet to be seriously wounded.  "Who is this guy?" was the only thing that Durzak could think about, still dodging swings.

Meanwhile in the hall Krowdon and Cameron slowly approached the armor.  From a slumped over position, the armor rose to look at the two.  "Have you enjoyed my little party," asked the armor.  "Why are you doing this?" shouted Krowdon slowly backing up.  "Isn't it obvious, its my Halloween party and you were all my invited guests." replied the armor, lifting up the visor to reveal the face of Garreth.  Krowdon and Cameron realized then that this was just the beginning of a most dangerous game. (Krowdon you are up, keep the excitement going)

A second rat dropped from a trapdoor in the ceiling onto Durzaks shoulders and placed his paws over Durzaks mouth and nose.  Dark Claws ran to go help his friend, but the first rat tripped Dark Claws and gave the wildcat a sharp blow to the head with the hilt(is that what its called? *cant remember) of his dagger. Unable to breathe, Durzak passed out. the rats bound the paws of their fallen opponents and dragged them away....

Krowdon flattened her ears and let out a low growl. "This is some sort of messed up halloween party." Garreth laughed. "Do you really think so? Tell you what, how about you and Mr. Cameron here get an extra treat. ." Garreth snapped, and the lights in the room went dark.

Dark Claws woke up in a room with Durzak. He quickly took stock of the situation. He was knocked out. He was now disarmed. So was Durzak. And they were both tied up in a big chair. He just had to be stuck with this guy. Dark Claws sighed, then used his claws to cut through the rope that bound them. Child's play. Durzak seemed a little curious as how Dark Claws was calm and quickly got out of the situation, but Dark Claws only said that he had been in the situation before. They both looked around at the room. There was one exit, a locked door that was no doubt guarded on the other side. Nothing for weapons except the clothes on their back. Then again...

Dark Claws felt around his shoulder until he finally felt it. A weapon he called the paper blade. Thin and light as paper, and deadly as a dagger. It was small and insignificant, not really much of a weapon as it had little range and was too small to really be a good weapon, but Dark Claws still extended his claws and cutopen the thin layer of cloth that seperated him from this. Seeing Durzak could better handle the weapon, Dark Claws gave it to him.  He could rely on his claws. DC went to the door and calmly and carefully punched it with extreme precision, hitting the one spot where the guards might feel something. He continued punching it until there was a muffled sound and the door swung open showing to guards with their spears ready. Durzak and Dark Claws paid them no mind as they ran out of there being pursued by the guards who were shouting for help.

They kept running until they saw Garreth walking with a mace. No way they could take him. At least, not like this. Dark Claws' eyes scanned the room for something. There! He snatched the paper blade from Durzak's paw and hurled it at the two guards. It clipped one of their shoulder's, cutting a fine chunk of hair out and got blood flowing quickly. perfect. While the other guard was trying to patch up his wounds, Dark Claws dragged Durzak over to a bunch of weapons displays. He quickly broke the glass seperating them from a bow, then broke another that held a small number of arrows in a quver. The arrows didn't exactly fit for the bow, but they would do. He handed the bow and arrows to Durzak. "Make them count," he said as he pointed to the guy with the mace. "Hold them off while I suit up." Dark Claws pointed to a suit of armor with a mace (that didn't have a body in it). 'Then cover me."

Cameron looked around the huge room he had ran into. There were maps and models of ships everywhere. A closer inspection revealed something sinister. There was a scroll with sentences crossed out and numbers next to them, almost like a checklist. And on the floor was an invitation to the mansion from Gareth to an ottermaid named Elaine. It seemed to have been forgotten, but at least that was one less victim. Cameron heard some commotion outside and hid, hoping his hiding place wasn't found. The commotion continued, but the door stood still. Cameron kept on looking, planning on checking the list later.

What was that crazy cat thinking, trying to fight that mad beast of a badger.  The best option in a situation like this is to run.  However, "I will not leave a companion behind." thought Duzak,  trying to make the bow work.  With luck a couple of the arrows hit the rats, but the majority missed.  "You ready yet!" shouted Durzak, his arrow supply dwindling.  "Almost," came a muffeled reply.  Glancing back for an instant, Durzak saw the armored wild cat with a sword.  Fortunatly for Durzak, Dark Claws was able to deflect and mortally wound the rat who sprang at Durzak's opening. "Pay attention, or find the others" shouted Dark Claws, cleaving into the other rat, "I don't want you getting in my way.  Find the others, get help, or whatever but don't get in my way."

Durzak stood at a crossroads, would he abonadon his friend to find the others would he stay and fight.  He pulled out his book and turned to the hidden dagger, his father's dagger.  He looked up and knew what he would do.

(krowdon, just a reminder)

Dark Claws charged Gareth. It seemed like a stupid idea, battling against him with only a sword and a mace, but Dark Claws was no ordinary fighter. Years of parinio that his guards would desert him had him training like there was no tommorow. And he was more deadly than the weapons he carried. He even held a body count larger than that of his army's. The rat on his side fell dead. Durza was a crack shot. He swung his sword at Gareth, only to see the mace come down to greet it. Gareth was only lightly armed, with a small chainlike dress to protect his body. It would prove a good defense for an inderect blow with a dagger, but not a direct strike with a sword. Which was what Dark Claws was counting on. As the mace and sword met, Dark Claws loosened his grip on the weapon so that the momentum of the mace would be stronger than the sword. As the momentum spun Dark Claws around quickly, he let go of the sword entirely. He faced what he thought was a dead Gareth to find that Gareth dodged the sword. It fell instead into the body of the rat who was behind him. His paw still ringing, Dark Claws tossed the mace into his right paw. Gareth was fast, but he just used that card. Dark Claws could be faster, and he was intent on playing that card right now.

Dark Claws speedily feinted and jabbed at Gareth to disorient him. Gareth blocked most of the jabs and predicted his feints, but it could easily be seen that Gareth was not very happy. He didn't exactly like the fact that he was being pressed this hard when he was dressed for offense and did not like the fighting style of this cat. Lunge parry lunge, that was what he was used to. But it seemed the wildcat was making things up on the spot. Dark Claws, for his part, was tiring quickly. The suit was hot and heavy and his speed was very taxing to his body. Even though it was a while since he was drugged, the effects of it was slightly still on his body. Durza was helping him a lot, covering him with arrow after arrow. Eventually, Dark Claws landed a blow on Gareth. Even though he had minor cuts and bruises, Gareth was fine. Then he made the mistake of trying to press Dark Claws. He saw the opening and instantly jabbed at it. In a flash, Dark Claws was behind him, beating him with the butt of the mace and eventually landing a wincingly non-lethal blow to the head with the mace. It was as hard as it could be without being fatal. It would probably keep him out cold for a while, but who knows? Dark Claws ran to Durza.

"He's unconcious, but still breathing," Dark Claws said as stripped off the hot and heavy armor. "We should question him when we're done with the guards."

"There's only one left," Durza said. "But I'm out of arrows!" Dark Claws quickly fixed that problem by hurling his mace into the last rat. He fell with a sickening thud. Dark Claws inspected a rat that Durza killed. It had two swords that reminded him of someone. Wait a minute! Those were his swords. Dark Claws took them, and the rats shield for good measure, although it was lost on him that the petty thieving wouldn't matter to the rat. Suddenly, it sounded like there was a mob coming (your epic battle seen Cam?)

Cameron realized what all of it meant now. Gareth wanted to kill rich beasts, take their money, and sail away to somewhere else. But why us five? Why on Halloween, too? Was this his final strike? And What was that noise? Cameron grabbed a sword from the wall and a shield and charged through the door, hitting a rat. He started swinging away, killing anybeast in his way. Meanwhile, Durzak and Dark Claws were fending themselves off. Cameron came to their aid just in time. The battle continued to the roof, Cameron, Durzak, and Dark Claws Tired out and Gareth swinging his mace, to finish the job he started so many seasons ago. "Cam, where's Krowdon?" Dark Claws asked. Cameron shrugged and smashed his shield into the face of a charging weasel.

Krowdon sneaked through the corridors, finding nobeast anywhere. She finally reached a window, opening it up and jumping out to safety. Krowdon headed back to the nearest village, only three days and nights away, hoping her friends would find her someday... if they were still alive.

((OOC, I found a bent twig and two pebbles in the shape of a >: face. I lol'd hard.))

(My bad, I have been busy and a little lazy)

"We are on a roof, there is a mad badger with a mace who wants to kill us, I am out of my daggers and arrows, Dark Claws can't keep up with the badger who seems to have an army...How did I end up here again?" thought Durzak.  Trying to keep Gareth's minions off of Dark Claws.  This was not loking good for the group, as they were pushed to the end of the roof.

"No place left to run," said Gareth stepping closer the the group.  "Come on Durzak, tell me you have an idea!" shouted Cameron.  Durzak scanned the area that he had to work with, and then he saw it; the way to live.  "Why are you doing this?" Durzak shouted at Gareth.  Gareth paused and told the beasts, "Beacause I can."

Durzak moved in front of his new friends said, "Fine then I surrender."  This stunned everyone, which all said, "WHAT!"
"I surrender, before you kill me though can I hold your mace.  I was never able to hold one before."  said Durzak.  Gareth was stunned but replied,"Fine, but I want you within arm's length."  Durzak moved and recived the mace feeling the weight of it, "This would work he thought"

In what can only be described as a feat of stength and stupidity, Durzak tossed the mace at the branch of a nearby tree behind his companions, and then into them and threw them on top to the branch as it began to fall.  The army of Gareth as well as everyoner beast was suprised at what happened.  The three companions managed to survive with ouly a fer bruises and cuts, and just as a new day was beginning to dawn.

Epic Log (way better than Epilouge)

Dark Claws and Durza made it back to the village alive. Cameron had what he said was other plans. The second, Dark Claws walked into his camp, he ordered his army to attack. With the ferocity only a warlord had, he easily crushed the enemy soldiers. The Mansion was actually the battle headquarter's for Gareth's vermin army. If he could kill one of the strongest warlords, one of the best scholars (who knew quite a lot  on battle strategies), a jack-of-all trades, and the warlord's admirer (who would probably rally Dark Claws' army in vengance of his death), he could easily take over what he wanted. The Mansion grew to be a gathering place for all of them, and the memory became a legend.
