It's not much of anything, but 2 times today I went to construct and inputed an amount of land that I was unable to construct. When the screen came back, there was a $ sign in front of the maximum number of lands you could construct. It didn't seem to harm the game in any other way than this.
Don't you mean it says "each structure costs $###.##"?
That's normal- it tells the amount of $ that each structure costs.

no, it has as the $ in front of the max number of structures you can build of each type, meaning the amount of land you can use.
