Basically do you guys want a Turbo server back

For those that havenít played it, RWL3 is completely rebalanced and tweaked ó the classic Indy and Leader strats donít work

If implemented Turbo would reset monthly, iirc 10 turns per cycle
We could slow Reg back down if you want, but quarterly resets probably still makes sense

Or we can leave everything as is.
Either way it isnít a huge deal to spin up or close down a game server
Itís just not much fun to play on an empty server, which is why we closed Turbo to begin with

So..  I lost the original Reg game guide, what was up was for RWL3 - which is rather different. 
Could have sworn I backed it up somewhere, and I probably did, but /shrug 
Most of it was heavily out of date anyways, so I'm finally going over it. 
If the game is going to run it might as well have a useful game guide. 

I've rewritten most of the Basic Tutorial section and added a basic leader strat to get people started. 
Please review and give feedback. 

If someone wants to write an Indy quickstart I'll add that as well. 

Most of the other pages need work, I'll go over them shortly. 
The formatting is all over the place..

General Discussion / Server change, slight downtime upcoming

Hey guys, we've squatted on Peace's hosting for a number of years now. 
I offered to transfer RWL to my shared hosting plan (same company, ASO, so same excellent uptime) and he agreed. 

I'll start the process on July 1st after the game server reset. 
Game signups will be off and I'll put the forum in maintenance mode.  Then back everything up, restore it, then update the domain info so redwallwarlords.com points to my server. 
Domain name propagation can take anywhere from a couple hours to a week, but usually within a day or so. 

I'll leave the RWL copy on Peace's server closed in maintenance mode and re-open the copy on my server. 
Should be zero data loss. 

I've got a couple other websites on my hosting plan, so again RWL isn't in any real danger of going away. 
So long as people want to hang out here we'll keep the lights on.

So.. we're done with the 499 exploit.
Proposed changes for next round: 
No aid to players with less than 5000 acres if they have greater than 50 mil net.
Dropping land currently has a floor of 250 acres, that's being raised +1000 every 10 mil net.  So if you have 500 mil networth the lowest land you can drop to is 50k. 
Remove Standards under 500.
No Kills. 
I reserve the right to make mid-round changes if the above isn't enough of a deterrent.  tbh I probably should have fixed it this round. 

For players who can actually play reasonably well it's embarrassing that you have to exploit loopholes. 
And having an invulnerable storehouse is not in the spirit of the game, you know you're being asshats.

Also tempted to add a 3 day delay to any market price changes, or spike the market fee for changing price. 
The market is not designed to be a storehouse, that's lame. 

Anyways.
Do you guys want a round theme for the next round?
I'm open to suggestions.

As a hint I actually ran the numbers and balanced him, breaking with any troop type will be about the same difficulty.

A notice that I've closed a loophole in the way clans work that's been heavily (ab)used this round. 

Normally once you join a clan you can't do anything for 72hrs. 
If you create a clan you can't disband it for 72hrs.
When you join a clan you can't leave or be kicked for 72hrs. 

But if the clan leader was in a clan for 72hrs he could disband, regardless how long players were in the clan. 
This meant that a player could join a 72hr old clan, make a run, attack other clanned players, receive unlimited aid packets at a higher cap, and then be immediately booted via a disbanded clan.   
Clan leader could then immediately remake and start the cycle over. 
And due to a certain glitch involving a unicode character the same clan name could be reused, making it basically seamless.

This is clearly against the spirit of the game and is currently being used very effectively. 

I have closed this loophole. 
The first point is still the same, if you create a clan you may disband it 72hrs later. 
However, the moment someone joins you cannot disband the clan for 72hrs.  And you still may not remove someone for 72hrs. 
This is currently cumulative, if 5 players join you will be prevented from disbanding for 360 hours (15 days).

Hey all, there was some discussion in the other tread about vacation, it's abuse, etc.

So we're going to simplify the rules:
If you want to use vacation mode go for it.
But we're going to disable vacation mode and kick everyone out 10 days before the reset.

The subjective "were they really on vacation" is impossible to enforce.
And it's a nice enough feature, esp with 3mo long rounds where a lot of people will legitimately have periods they cannot play.

The 10-day before reset kick means everything is out in the open for a few runs so people can't use vacation to protect net right up til the reset.
The idle-out vacation function will also be disabled for the last 10 days.

A note that if you have > the average land in the top 10 and go into vacation mode you will lose 0.1% of it to the landfarm per turn cycle, till you reach average land.
This does take into account 'real' networth for the top ten calc, so foxes with cloaks are treated as normal and you cannot pull land out of the calc that way.

Comments/questions/concerns are welcome.

Hey all
I know it's last min, but I'm assuming most current players will login within the next day to do their final run before the reset.

It's been suggested that we have a no public market round, are most of yall good with that? 
What about simply preventing removal of marketed goods?  Once you send troops / food to the market it's there.  Or hiking the market penalty to, I donno, 50%? 

I'm open to (simple) ideas

As mentioned in a couple topics and the game-wide mass-mail RWL is now down to one sever. 

This server is running the normal Reg code at the RtR turn rate of 2 turns every 10, 550 / 150 storage. 
Resets planned quarterly. 
So basically RtR, except with no plans for a theme.

If enough people really want turbo and/or a static reg back we can talk about it, but the way things were going it wasn't working.
