Reg Discussion / Current Strats

So I just finished my first run back and apparently I still somewhat remember how to play  :D

I am playing an indy strat because it's what I remember! What other strategies are people playing at the moment? Im noticing a lot of people are playing ferret does this mean that market is a realistic strat at the moment?

Anyways just checking up on whats happening.

Turbo Discussion / Turbo Indy

Well i have been away for a while but thought i would pop in and see whats up.
One of the things that has bothered me a bit is that there is no readily accessible information about turbo.
ie i couldnt see the race chart till i had already signed up.
However its still fun so i thought i would try a little indy however im not sure how it has changed in turbo since i was here last. Would someone be able to give me a quick rundown of how it goes?

So I am looking to revolt at the moment but i have searched the forums and apart from finding some topics that have been really fun to read again (Playing with shade was so much fun ;D) i was unable to find any information on what resources you lose when you revolt. I would prefer to keep as much of my stuff as possible :D.

All citizens of the Regular server.
It has come to my attention that reg is currently being oppressed by the emperor Gen Volkov.
As i have recently returned i have one question and then a message.
Is this reg as i remembered it or has it been updated to 3.0? (Hehe if I can Indy with that much land $.$)
Now for the message... I request that all people requiring the release of the land currently held join me and together we can liberate the lands of moss flower from their evil hands. No really i will fail on my own. All persons wishing to take part in this endeavour should message The Obliterator on reg to form a plan. I will be leading this strike however experienced leaderlers would be much appreciated as i seem to have forgotten how to do it :(.
Rally to the cause and let's liven this game up. Well that's all from me and let's have a great time ^.^

Hey i was just wondering if anyone knows a couple things that may help me with developing my indy strat in 3.0

First of all how do barracks change workers into troops?
Like what percentage land built into barracks turns what percentage of workers into troops?
Also how many workers can each of the different lands hold?
Also are there any other factors that affect troop production other than race benifits?

Bugs / Generals Hut Bug

If you perform a mission, such as raise defenses or move north, in the generals hut when you have no cash in hand but enough in the bank you only use one turn instead of the usual two turns.
This happens because it stops turns to secure funds from clunys hut so you only use one turn but the mission still completes.
Not a major bug but it could be abused.

Thought this was a better place for it.

Hitlimit should be at 32 in these dynamics.
Race mods need to be curved and mostly within +20 and -20
Market tax is absolute rubbish and very abusable. Storage capacity and changing prices is very abusable.
Mercenaries sale price is absolute peril
Stored turns should release at 2 instead of 5
Attacking losses are too high and very abusable.
1 active landlocker will drain a server that no one else defends
clans that intelligently use the race modifiers can individually be 50x more powerful than they deserve
Clan sharing should be 25% tops.

I also think that hit limits could be made higher i dont quite know the rationale behind the 32 limit you proposed but having more hits would be great. Because as it is a lot of land gets locked up after people have grabbed a whole chunk.

Im not sure about the race mods personally but mabey someone who knows more could shed some light on the subject.

I know market tax was introduced in order to prevent people circumventing the 3x limit but i also think that it is a bit steep. When im solo indying i have to leave a substantial amount of troops on me for my next run especially in the case of someone attempting a land lock and this ends up giving me a tax amount of around 10-15%. And this limits how productive i can be. Mabey halving it pr having the cash actually go somewhere useful such as possibly going to the jackpot in the gamble section or possibly going down to the land farm. Im sure we could work out something there.

in regards to the merc prices i know that they were put that low in order to make people use the market but now that people know how good the market is could we increase the prices a little. Mabey putting it so that the highest sell prices are equal to the lowest sell prices on the market. Other wise an indy starting has to go through a horrible ordeal at the beginning of the round.

Again i would like to know the rationale behind the suggested 2 turns. I personally do not have a problem with the rate at which they come out but i would like to know your reasoning.

i agree that attacking losses are too high. i was standard attacking i believe it was doods as retribution for taking me down to 90k land but i stopped as it was not worth it. On one attack i broke and killed about 7k skiffs and 1k stoats losing around 2mil weasels in the process. he was on 32k land. I though it may have been because of his allies so i tried a surprise attack and still i lost around that many while he consistently lost a pittance.

with the 1 land locker draining a server that is more the fault of the other players in the server doing nothing. At the beginning of this round when clouds clan was attempting a takeover me and snowy succesfully beat them down on quite a few occasions. As active defenders we were able to prevent any land locks.

Again with one team clanning up to become more powerful i think it is up to the rest of the server to plan together to beat them down. However with so many benefits to clanning up mabey there should be some penalties such as a reduction of production or mabey having useful race stats reduced by 2%.

I also agree with the 25% tops clan sharing. Large clans can just become way too powerful just by sharing troops. Such as what has happened with snares current clan on turbo. Low players attacking even the lower members of snares clan can suffer pretty bad losses.

Well there is my views and ideas please post and we might just be able to get somewhere :D

Turbo Discussion / Land Lock Brocken

There you go peoples.

Land lock has been broken. Have at it and try not to let them get it back so easily this time.

Next time i think ill try earlier though. I attacked with 67 mil weasels and apparently it was overkill. You can break with around 20-30 mil weasels.

Keep the land flowing.

Bugs / Attacking to max

I think iv found a smallish bug.

Sometimes when attacking with the backspace enter thing if you are attacking them to max right at the end you will get one failed attack.
This has happened to me a couple of times and i go and look at their page afterward and they are maxxed.
So somehow i managed to attack them while they are maxxed and it just gives me a failed attack.

Its not really a bug but i am still getting the old sign up email that tells you that you have signed up and gives me a validation code that i have to enter after i have used 150 turns. Should we just stop this or just change the message to notify people that they have signed up?

100 bil cash for the person who kills Aspiring Ruler of Hope- Utopia (#252).

Reasoning: For completely unprovoked mass murders and poisons. I also do not have the ability to open att ops on him or i would do it myself.

Payment: If you wold prefer a certain amount of troops instead of the cash i can do that as well and it would make it easier for me.

Other than that have at it and hopefully he wont try it again.

I have come back after a long while on reg and it seems like things have heated up.

However at the moment i don't wish to be caught between the two major clans. I would rather just be able to sit back and quietly net.
However people in the clan shield seem to have no intention of letting me do this. Unless etiquette has changed sacking and stealing are both looked down on if you are not necessarily at war with those people.

Within a day of rejoining i have been stolen from by one player who really didn't get much compared to what im sure others out there have and i was just sacked for about half a bil food by another player.

I would really appreciate it if the members of sheild would be kind enough to leave me alone. Im not doing anyone any harm sure attack me for land just please leave my resources alone.

Hey everyone just popping in for an update as well as sticking around to play for a while i hope.
From the announcements it seems like there has been a fair bit going on  :D.
I just got into Uni and im gonna be studying applied chemistry.
Iv noticed that there is something called version 3.0 floating around and i would be happy if someone could point me to a topic about it.
Are reg and turbo still going?
Also i just activated again on reg and things look interesting!!!!
But anyways this was just a general hello to all the old players and some of the new ones  :)

(edit)Btw what are buffs and how do i use them?
Also im thinking i may need someone to teach me how to play again..... :(

(edit 2) Also should i have the power to be able to edit peoples post and split topics and to delete posts?
Or have i somehow become a forum mod???
I dont mind but i just thought i should let you know :D
