What do we do now with an emperor that just keeps scraping more and more land? I havent' run turns in about 3 weeks, because there's no point. I'll pop up to a about 80-120 mil, lose all my land, sell everything in order to scout for more land again. I know this is whining, and we can't do much with such a small playerbase, but wow... how do we make this fun?

Some of my top memories...

1. Traveling to England to meet up with AdTheRat who I met on this site
2. FaF clan battles where we all fought to the death each round
3. Creating dynastic clans and arranging politics through AOL Instant Messenger, then MSN Messenger, then, for a hot second, Yahoo!, which died out as quickly as it came
4. Learning the hilarious joy of only growing food and being sacked all the time (Happy Pony Raising? Was that what that was?)
5. Role playing, but 13-year old me always maintaining I was the hero and never dying or being wounded or losing or being wrong and having a BLAST

I miss the old days, of 1k land = 1 mil networth, and a max of 3 attacks per warlord for "farming", anything more than that was cause for retaliation. Windy and others, what if we::

Disabled Mercenaries
Increased "scout" benefits
Made larger bonuses for clan involvement (i.e. 3 attack maximum unless clan war)
Forced clan involvement from outset of round
Capped leader benefits at 100 leaders/hut instead of allowing massive overages from 175/hut

I don't want to nerf leaders, per se, but way back then it was considered useful to have towers and a balanced army, and you'd always worry about your army composition and then one weasel turd would invade and break you with weasels. Land is so transient nowadays and armies are bought and sold so there are no defenses- it's all just "run" fodder. Any ideas?

I remember this place being my only source of friends years and years ago, hundreds playing and fighting and backstabbing...back when I was 13 and 14. Volkov, Windhound, Retto, Vulpine Imperium...I checked and other Promisance games folded years ago. How on earth have we lasted this long? How awesome is that?! And what has happened since I stopped playing almost a decade ago?

I never thought online communities would last this long. Incredible.
