I'm on the short end of it. I got close to 30 hours into my ppl before I ran out of money. That's when I applied for NavCanada instead.
Alot of commercial guys switched to control because it's more stable of a career. One guy I worked with was a former Air Canada pilot who switched careers simply to be able to sleep in his own bed every night.
Reason why pilots make up some much of our work force is that hardly anyone else even knows what NavCanada is. So almost all applicants are either pilots or relatives of current employees.
On another note. We just finished launching our new 76 satellite constellation (Iridium NEXT) that will serve to virtually replace ground based radar and voice communication giving us full coverage flight surveillance and communication globally through ADS-B with no dead spots. This will revolutionize ATS.

We can be fined for unprofessional communications on the radio.
For the most part, we tend to grant alot of leeway to student pilots. Most of us have been there.
All most all of us have atleast some flight training, many hold commercial, multi-engine, IFR.
That's what got us into this.

tried to spark activity last set, now this set I'm finding it hard to run turns. I play during downtime at work. Lately, there just hasn't been much down time. Having to run turns a few here and a few there, cause it's rare I can get through much more then 100-200 turns before either someone calls or a weather change demands my attention. Hell, it's getting hard to get a bathroom break some days.

we tend to get it all at once here. Last year had a dump of 2FT in 6 hours.
Makes work a pain. Nothing like trying to coordinate air traffic when I have 8-9 ground vehicles trying to clear the runway... Who don't always follow procedures or instruction.

Sack just doesn't yield enough to really be worth it. I feel like it's been heavily nerfed in the years I was away. Now it's kinda pointless

It's been unusually mild here this year. We usually average around 14FT of snow a year.

and to Disl, I agree, I absolutely suck as Leaderer. I did not know what the hell to do as Martin. Was kinda fun fumbling through turns trying to get a handle on it though

You guy's influenced me in one way. I would cash up ans send it to Sevz and Snare, only to watch you guys immediately steal it all. So I stopped sending them anything. Saw it as a complete waste.
Also, I seemed to have the timing that market prices always were super high when I logged on. I noticed that there was little to no difference between market prices and mercenary prices, so I stopped buying from market all together.
All in all, I think I managed 2 or 3 turn runs without 3% myself into the ground due to not paying attention to food and cash, so that's a win for me

I had one specific goal this set.

If it was just getting out it'd be one thing, but all our gear was loaded on that side as well. Making trips back and forth hauling gear while ducking rotor blades just screamed bad idea.
Even though the pilot was telling us if he has to shut down and restart, it was going to cost more

You could buy Shadow's food and steal it all after it leaks from bank (~6 hours).  And if score ranking placement concerns you so much, follow up with poisons on him.
