General Discussion / Re: Favorite Memories of RWL?
August 09, 2018, 10:18:55 AM
It's weird to think about how long ago these memories happened.

- becoming Empress and being a part of the First Era where no one knew what they were doing
- becoming a RWL admin
- our RWL AIM chats
- designing and coding the Turbo themed rounds, like Pearls of Lutra and storehouse. Honestly one of my favorite things was coming up with new ideas for features (like the clan forums, Espionages, or Emperors page) and hearing about how they enhanced people's gameplay experience. A very rewarding feeling.  :)
- all the various RWL revivals over the years. While the "golden era" of RWL was probably within the first couple years, it was amazing how RWL still experienced surges of activity, like around 2009-2012.
- I think in the middle of one of those RWL revivals I gave out Turbo round awards, like Best Newbie, Most Improved, Best Veteran, etc. I had a lot of fun watching those rounds closely to determine who should win those awards.

It has been done.

Serio, if anyone has an idea for what else it could say lemme know.

Hmm, how about random facts about the different vermin species?

I was wondering how VI was doing, I saw the site was still up but I can never remember my passwords. I've made probably like 6 different Shael Varonne accounts there, each with a different middle initial.

I was wondering how many Redwall sites are even still active out there. I think the redwall.org forums are still active, but besides that, not sure. And I've been following this Facebook page for a Redwall game (https://www.facebook.com/RedwallGame/) and they post pretty regularly but not sure if they have much of a community.

I've also apparently spent 3.3% of the last 15 years logged into this forum...

This means basically for the last 15 years, you've spent at least 45 minutes per day on this forum. I think? Not sure if I did that math right.

Just now I actually looked at Sevz's profile because I saw he posted earlier and he's been here for NINE years.

Too bad I couldn't finish the round due to giving birth to my daughter.

Excuses, excuses. You could just run turns between contractions!  :P

I'd say definitely! It was a little nostalgic going out to buy "the latest Harry Potter book" and sitting down to read it all in one day. Even if it wasn't a normal book, it was interesting to see what happened to old familiar characters.

I kinda liked it. I understood it was meant to be viewed as a play, so I tried not to compare the writing/dialogue style to the previous books. I'm sure if it was intended to be a book, some of the events would not have happened (they were just an excuse to add cool effects on stage).

I usually do the normal/good path, and I rarely play the game a second time. In Fallout 4, I always felt bad choosing the "evil/mean" dialouge option, even though I knew it didn't really have any long term effects. Every once in a while I would choose the sarcastic one.

My sister though tends to play through both good and evil routes. Recently she's been creating content (for upvotes, of course) to show the side of Fallout that most of us good players never see.
