Reg Discussion / Re: July 7th 2018 Round Results

The whole point of us suiciding the emp was the expectation of a cash windfall for doing so. None of us expected the emp to have 1,002,166,349 leaders guarding a mere 50b cash. 250k land for the amount of troops needed to break through military is also not worth the effort at all. The emp was basically designed to be a complete waste of time no matter what method was used to crack it.

Or... just prevent people from land dropping themselves to less than 5000 acres so people cant easily game the 500 acre std rule? It's a mindblowingly simple solution and one that doesn't require 87 different code changes and the removal of core game mechanics to fix nor disrupts normal gameplay in any way ::)

"Diplomacy"... you mean like:

-Receive unprovoked sacks
-Message clan leader to try to resolve things, receive bs excuses
-Sacks increase
-More messages
-Even more sacks
-Realize talk is going to be useless and go to battle
-Opposition wonders why we didn't give them the courtesy of fighting them the way they wanted us to after forcing us to waste our time fighting them ::)

We were fine peacefully netting and you guys forced us into war last set. It seems you guys don't like the favor being returned.

Maybe they shouldn't have tried to sully None's good name by adding an unnecessary underscore (which was later changed to a period)  :P

Those are more or less the teams, but generally there aren't any problems with merely taking land provided you're not online hitting (attacking people who are actively playing turns). 20+ attacks to grab land is normal and generally nothing to be alarmed at here, especially if you have a relatively high amount of land. When things change from merely grabbing land to directly messing with your opponent's progress (standard attack, sacking, damaging missions, online hitting, etc.) then people tend to take that as an act of war, teamed or not.

Ah, I thought Sevz sent you net. I would be interested to know how much total net you had on Rose at max. We actually made enough net on the last day to top you guys, even with you buying uo. You guys just collectively destroyed like half of it. Lol. So yeah, like Snare said, lots of net destruction on both sides, you guys just timed it better than we did, I think.

If I remember correctly, it peaked somewhere around 4.2b net with about 1 trillion cash stockpiled before your standard attacks the other day.

That was a hell of a battle. Congrats everyone on an extremely close fight right til the end.  Volk, just so you know shoot bought up with 600bil a few minutes before reset ;)

Firetooth, will you post your infamous award categories in a new topic?

Confirmed, I bought out my mercs in the final 10 mins which gave me about 1.4b net.

Good round everyone. Special thanks to Disl, Snare, Sevz, Cloud, and Lady Rose Eyes as well as RLA for the fierce competition.

Quote from: Briar on March 14, 2018, 04:49:00 PMThis is what vacation is actually supposed to be used for.

I doubt your clan funneling every possible dollar of net worth they could on your warlord to remove it from play when you hit the button is "what vacation is actually supposed to be used for." You may have had a good reason to use it, but the way it was utilized was no less "abusive" than the instance your clanmates were complaining about earlier in the thread where I used it. I doubt anyone would have complained or even cared in the slightest if I vacationed with little or no assets regardless of the reason.

And no, I don't care that this was done, but calling this proper use of vacation while implying mine was improper when in both cases it was clearly used to protect a very significant amount of assets is silly. ::)

byakuya isnt even with us... A great first step to fighting a battle is knowing who your enemy is so you're welcome.

EDIT: Also it was less than 2 trillion cash (I had 1.7 when i hit the vacation button and my partner at the time had sent basically all of his cash to me) and, believe it or not, at the time I hit the vacation button we didn't have plans to war you guys (that changed when I discovered an extra 130 billion or so was missing before vacation took effect and my partner continuing to get sacked as well despite trying to resolve it peacefully). I took a vacation because the land was spread out so bad that the risk:reward ratio was too high, and there was no reason for me to just let baddies from a clan who can't produce their own cash to continue to steal mine.

For too long have the proletariat of Redwall suffered under the arbitrary and fascistic rule of warlords and would-be emperors. The dialectic of history demands that all oppressors of the workers, and their running dogs, must eventually be thrown on the ash heap of history. The Redwall Liberation Army is here to free the workers and take back the means of production. No more shall a few profit from the labors of the many! The old order shall be overthrown, and a new Worker's Paradise shall be created in its place. Join the Revolution comrades! Vive La Revolucion!
The words of a genius...and a mentally stable genius at that!

Like, really smart.

Turbo Discussion / Re: Final list of changes

Some feedback on the market:

1) I would personally like to see a 'maximum price' field when purchasing, as well as a 'buy all' checkbox for each item. For example, I could set a maximum price of $17 to buy food at, and select the buy all checkbox to buy all available food at $17 or less (or as much as I can afford) or specify a maximum quantity and it will stop purchasing once I have received the desired quantity or have purchased all available food at $17 or less. The default price displayed in the 'max price' field would be the lowest price available.

2) Market commissions - Personally I think there should always be a small commission on sales (like 5%). In the current state, somebody could corner the market on food by buying up everything at $18 or less and relist for $19 ($1 under mercs) and is basically assured profit on it, even on the food that was originally $18. A commission wouldn't stop this strategy from being profitable, but it would cut into the profit a bit and make small markups less viable and make it a little bit riskier.

As for the food situation, I definitely find myself using quite a bit more than before, but so far the market has been stocked pretty well, which I assume is due to the fact that a higher mercs price and higher overall food need makes the strategy more attractive to play. Hopefully the amount of farmers stays up after this round.

Yup, same as just about every version of promisance that has existed, though it's probably not common knowledge here (doesn't appear to be in the game guide).

if ($warflag)
        $uoffense *= 1.2;

Benefits of 1 man clan over solo play:
1) Unlimited attacks against clanned players (by war slotting)
2) 20% offense point bonus while attacking a war slotted clan.
3) No desertions against war slotted clans.

Drawback:
1) You can be war slotted for unlimited attacks as well, which means you could get crippled badly or killed as a result.

If doing a 1 man clan against a strong clan, it would be a good idea to stack weasels (best defense for the money) to make a kill run against you less attractive as standard attacks are forced on the last 500 acres of the kill which could save you or make the kill run considerably more costly for them.
