Is real sassafrass even used now in days though?

Just saying that sounds very grammatically poor.  To answer the question, it is not used in anything commercially distributed.  That being said there are recipes to make your own, according to your search engine of choice

I was in Camelot for about a week but left as I was the only one there.  I forget the clan name but I remember some of my former clan mates

The root contains safrole. This is a minor carcinogen, discovered in the 1970's by the FDA.  The chemical is found in other spices, but in a (much) lower quantity, especially when compared to sassafrass tea.

Many plants are slightly poisonous (black walnut trees are a good example) to better facilitate the survival of the plant

It used to be used in tea, and flavoring for root beer.  Turns out its poisonous.

As a quick addendum on raiders, if you leave yours prepared players from other locations can attack you.  This can be prevented by using the recall raiders choice in the General's Hut

It's taken 3 years to go 190 pages?

Slackers.
I will take some blame for not advancing the page count, though to be fair I do often have much to say

I'm not really sure what you have that we don't, I know you guys have Hersheys but I have yet to meet a fellow Briton that enjoys the taste (it's pretty different from the chocolate over here).

Hershey's is low quality, there might be other brands (of which I cannot name) which might be more appealing.
