Ok, so we all know that Reg. goes on continually until a major code change or Admin Error and as such nothing really counts or measures how well you did over the course of that era, you could have set emp for 2 months then went inactive and 4 months later when the era is over who would know?

So, in order to keep track of and measure our successes on Regular I propose a point system.

Points would be awarded every time turns are given and would work as follows:

If you are ranked 41st or below you receive no points, ranks 40-11 receive from 1 to 30 respectively (if your ranked 38th you'd get 3 points and if your ranked 22nd you'd recieve 23 points etc.), players in the top 10 would receive double the points so 10th place would get 62 points and the player in first receives triple points so if your first place you'd get 120 points.

I think that something of this nature would help to make playing regular more engaging and less like treading water.

Clans / Upcomming Turbo Round

The next turbo round seems at the moment to be theme free, as such I've decided to see if anyone is interested in clanning with me.

The Principle of my as yet unnamed clan is simple, to provide all those who wish to take our land with a challenge. I'm not talking about all-out locking land, but I am talking about not purposely leaving holes and abstaining from land dropping.

If anyone is interested in continually putting up a fight next round please post, send me PM here on the forums, or send me a message in-game. My empires are in my signature.

Standard Attacks no longer capture any amount of buildings the where on the enemy empires land, perhaps that is intentional for some reason, but I thought I'd let you know.

P.S. hmm ok, why do I have some kind of Mod powers in The Regular Report thread, but no where else?

The Regular Report


As most people know regular was accidentally reset about two weeks ago, putting to end a vibrant war between forces lead by Peace Alliance and Gen. Volkov, and we have entered a new Era. (What Reg. era is it? Do people even keep track still? Or do we call them rounds?)

World News

The top spot has been held by various empires so far this round, The Obliterator #12, Fallen Man (Juska) #28, dark past (cloud) #15, and Firetooth #10 have all had the honors of being the top dog so far this round. The rest of the top 10 has been populated by early indies, although leader player seem to have just made their first effort to produce net. The majority of players in the top 10 are clanned, only two are running solo.

Break up by race:

Players seem to be picking wolves and rats as there races of choice, both with 11. Stoats, foxes, martens, and wildcats have all made a good showing, each with 6-8, while there is one painted one and no Lizards.

Break up by strat (deduced from races):

Indies have made a strong showing over the past months here at RWL with the current races it's safe to say about a third of all players have chosen that route, the rest will most likely be leaders, but who knows what the crazy guy who picked painted one is up to. Once more it seems we will not be seeing any farmers or cashers in the game.

Politics

Players have chosen to tag up it seems this set, 60% of the current 58 empires are clanned. In addition, 15 of 23 unclanned players are either still in protection of have entered vacation mode. It seems we may be in for a good clan war or two.

There are five clans that meet the 3 member requirement. Current standings:

On Top, lead by returning veteran cloud is living up to it's name holding both the highest average net and highest total net. Three clans lead by big name members happen to fall under the 3 member requirement, but still should be watched for. Peace Alliance's BlackFly, Gen. Volkov's Woof, and Holby's Holbrook and Briggs. All of these are self-professed training clans, so if your in need of a few pointers I'd check them out. Lastly, we have the clan Me, a two man leader/indy operation with the net holder currently in third.

As of now plans seem to still be being laid, no clan has openly declared war on another or attempted to lock land, but I'd expect something to boil over soon as teams are finally solidified and net's become larger.

The Economy

The RWL economy is non-existent so far from all indications. The public market is getting some use from troop storers like always, but even the troops that fall below base mercenary prices are not being bought. Also, no food has been seen on the market so far this set. I'm sure a player with an entrepreneurial spirit could make some good profits if they tried.

Regular is two and half weeks into the new set and since there really has been no discussion I thought I'd start one. Going at this from a kind of outsider reporter view.

The Game in General:

Currently 48 empires who are outside of protection, pretty good for today's promisance standards (kodos to the RWL community).

Race Breakdown (Broken Protection Only):
6 Rats 11 Stoats 6 Foxes 12 Wildcats (Why do people like wildcat?) 1 Lizard (props to Bellum for being unique) 8 Wolves and 2 Martens. There are 0 Painted Ones

Juskabally currently has the most offenses at 307 and defenses at 207. No empires have been killed, but 2 have deleted themselves.

The top 10:

So far the top 10 has been dominated by one man clan indies, with Juskabally holding top spot for the majority of the set and The Obliterator and Spaceman staying up there as well. Don't fear the reaper made a foray into top position on his first run, but has since slowly fallen into oblivion and currently resting at 31st. Currently Gen. Volkov is holding top spot, the lone big net leader warlord and is the only member of his trademarked Woof clan. Rounding out the top 10 we have the always competitive kell in 8th and Peace Alliance is holding on to 10th. Porygon who I know nothing about and so have nothing to say besides he is leadering and has jumped net rather recently is in 4th and two members of Outer Heaven are in my opinion surprise members of the top 10, with Royale in 5th and Mr. Beast in 9th. Almost forget to mention Phil Collins (spelled obnoxiously in all caps  :D) is in 6th whose net is fueled by a vibrant public market food trade.

So far nothing exciting has happened with the top 10 and it seems like everyone is focused on netting peaceably for the time being.

The Clan Scene:

We currently have three real clans in the game, both Empire of the Phoenix and Outer Heaven have 8 members and The Alliance of dedicated warlords has 5.

O.H. recently has grown in members and net quite strongly and is holding the top clan spot while E.O.T.P is hugging the high 20's and seems to have a thing for keeping their empires extremely close in net. Alliance who are mostly new players, led by sharptooth, are still trying to fine their way I think. Currently nothing in the war of clan wars, but as O.H. continues to rise who knows what may happen. They seem like candidates for a game takeover if they are so inclined.

Other things to note, the public market (without the exception of food) is still being regulated to a place to store unneeded troops and the landfarm is seeing quite a lot of drop to action.

Reading what I wrote I seem to realize why no one is discussion regular right now, but meh I was bored.

This round is a blatantly unfair towards players who do not have the capacity to use leaders to make land grabs.

Not only is leader land grab have a few small land gain variance (you almost always get good returns) but leader attacks only cost 10% health? Versus the 20% that troop attacks cost?

Leader attacks (land grabs) are very much in the same vein of war as any other attack which involves troops, and seeing that they have consistent returns are nearly if not more powerful.

This lends an unfair disadvantage to players who rely on barracks for net and therefore troops to attack.

I call for the raising of leader attack health penalty to the same level as troop attacks.

Juska sat on his cloak watching flames dance on the deadwood of his fire, to his back was a dark wood and before him lay the borders of Southsward. He had been away for quite some time, but even now on the edge he could feel the land call out to him, "home" it said, "this is your home."

He knew about Ereptor, the Emperor, who's fame had grown to such a state it reached him even in his far wanderings. But as he sat staring into the flames, pondering what step to take next, he caught a piercing cry in the wind. And a new fire flashed in his eyes.

A New Age is coming.....who will accept the challenge of the cry?

I seem to remember that forever and ever you could revolt (change your race) without any requirements if you had not used any turns. I recently made an account on turbo (Perseus #61). Created as a rat because the game guide link in the sign-up sheet does not work to show you the races. Got in the game, decided I wanted to be a wildcat and now I can't revolt.

So, um I'm asking why this feature was taken out, if it would be reimplemented, or if I can get my race changed to wildcat.

People keep alluding to the fact that clans have been made much better in some aspect or another.

So far all I've found is that we have clan forums in game (boo i liked the old clan forums)

Hey everyone, old and new. I just came back to play turbo after reading a letter my 8th grade self wrote to me 4 years ago, it told me never to forget RWL. Anyway, I have to say the game thriving, and the forums have new posts constantly. I know it's the people playing who are keeping this alive and fun. I've seen other Prom. games die, and it's almost always not code, it's people. RWL isn't dying anytime soon.

I was just wondering how the market now currently works, seeing it has been changed from the base prom. code apparently, and can you sell food on the market? Because I'm looking and can't find any lol.
