Which is about what you'd expect from the car (assuming cruising at 100 kph), 200,000 km is around where a small fraction of cars start to die, and with good maintenance you can get more out of them.
That would be a very small fraction., I'd say. Every car-engine giving up at 200k km is a piece of junk, especially if it was only used for driving 100km/h.

It's indeed working as it should now. A few hours ago both me and someone else were having the exact same issue.

Kind of clumsy, but let's see how it shapes up.
There seems to be some kind of bug. It currently is impossible to buy food. Clicking the purchase button does nothing. Troops are working fine.

That is correct.

These sets are still too long imho. The first 2 months are kind of pointless. 3 month sets are all about endurance, 1 month sets might encourage more people to play out the entire set.

I don't see any point in sacking at this stage. It only gets you in trouble while grabbing less land. Unless you deliberately want to do damage or someone is sitting on a ton of resources, like Sevz and his pile of food, using the drive attack gets you more value.

It was a fun set. Lots of action, lots onlining and lots of trashtalk. Influencing someone's style of play solely through ingame messaging is the most efficient strategy there is :D.

By the end it was obvious the win would be pretty safe. The buy outs were all Disl's idea. They got tougher to do as you were on to us. We changed strategy (that was pretty much my only major tactical input) to just keep your troops on the market and buy you guys out completely in the last day(s) of the set leaving you with a ton of cash and no market to spend it on. It would have been such a neat way of winning with you guys producing our networth :). That didn't really work since you changed to stoat. I still don't get that. Sure you can make leaders real fast, but with this land, who can't? Suiciding our leaders was also kind of pointless with me being very active and a 22 hit limit. We also controled most of the market at that point. If you would just keep killing our leaders while playing indy and by taking our land, it would have been much tougher. I've seen what Disl can produce as a rat. It would take a lot of cash to buy you guys out.

I have played a ton of prom back in its starting years ('03 - '10). I've played sets with only a 20 active empires but also sets with at some point over 200 active empires. I have never played on servers with this few active players. It was pretty obvious that activity was the key in this set up with this market. I can only say I will not be doing that again. I was fortunate to have had 6 weeks off from work in this set (combo of holidays, vacation and faternity leave) being able to do the hyperactive style that I played. I'm still deleting all the screencaps I took on my phone from comparing nw, market amounts, ...

As for the "networth change notification program" that sevz and snare think I use. I never confirmed/declined, so you guys were always on your toes, but I do NOT have that. The first times that I caught you online were plain luck, later on it became luck combined with the recurring times when you guys were doing your runs. Again being active (and observant) was the key.

As for the market, Shadow, I'd keep it in place for at least a few sets. This might have been a one time thing since it might be tough to redo it. With this few players, I'm afraid 1 or 2 wolfs will always have the advantage making the leaderstrategy even more overpowered. That power would diminish with a big playerbase. Very hard to see what it would do with a big playerbase, but I think it would do more where it was designed for. It was designed to make the game more balanced, but I think it might unbalance it at this point.

Lastly, I had all the networth in the end just for safety reasons. I suggested sending it all to Disl the moment before the set ended but he refused. This win is all on him. He did a ton of thinking while having to put up with my spam on Messenger, my dumb moves (I still don't know who got that 20bil :D) and my questions. Shadows food and money injections and him being a decoy appearing to be kind of neutral were a major part of the win also.

This is too funny. Is there anyone that has been mocking him and laughing with him more than I have?
I'd say market prices have been rather fluctuating. You just have to buy in bulk. Ask snare everything about it ;).

You make it sound as though some great achievement.
Wait, where did I do that? I simply stated we owned you 2 vs 4. You even have the self proclaimed greatest player of all time in your ranks!
Quote from: Gorak on December 14, 2018, 09:41:01 AMWe haven't coordinated a single run. Hell, we rarely even communicate.
Correction: you haven't coordinated and you rarely communciated with them ;-).
Quote from: Gorak on December 14, 2018, 09:41:01 AMcombined with the fact I haven't played in about a decade and am playing a race and strat I've never tried before (and frankly have no idea what the hell I'm doing).
I haven't played prom for a decade either. Heck, I have never even played on this server until this fall.
Quote from: Gorak on December 14, 2018, 09:41:01 AMAdd to that Shadow has done far more damage then either of you two. (I'll admit I deserved it from Shadow, but regret nothing, would do again)
You're thinking taking somebody's land is doing damage, that's so 2005. You haven't been using the market a lot I guess ;-).

I am a new player here and Disl explained me the ins and outs of the mage strategy over here. I can only say claiming that I can't think for my own is very arrogant from your part (especially since we owned you 2 vs 4). This game isn't overcomplicated once you know the rules to play it. I'm not saying I'm some genius but I'd say my math and logical reasoning are more than ok :).

I'd like a little more respect. Since we got Sevz to chicken out we are now officially the best players in this game. We are the ultimate redwallians. The best of the best and in a realm of our own!

Eventhough I'm not the biggest fan of the current market (no offense to everybody that helped coding it), I think the way it works is just fine. Instead of making any big adjustments to the market, some minor ones to other things might get rid of the buy outs.
- tweak $/loyalty when casting loot by either lowering the amount of cash produced, increasing loyalty costs or make it a 3 or 4 turn spell.
- reduce the current 550 turn maximum. Less turns means less leaders after a run regardless of the amount of land in the game. Less leaders means less cash.
- remove the 22 hitlimit for top 5 (debatable) players.
- slow down cash leaking out of the bank or drastically increase the amount of cash you can bank.
- tweak the stealing spell ratio. Instead of the >1.75 ratio, make it >2.2 or more, like muf (don't know the names you guys use over here :p).
- ask Sevz what to do with this issue. Although his current runs remind me more of a turtle laying on its back, he is after all THE ultimate redwallian. Unmachted!

Some of these things popped in my head when writing this so not much thought was put into it. Hence, I might be missing some really dumb. English is also not my first or second language so my phrasing might look funny :-).
