Bugs / Messaging Bot?
April 13, 2019, 06:34:14 AM
I am empire Supernormal Stimulus Dissonance (#4). I recieved a message from #6. And my empire messaged back 1 second later. Suffice to say I cannot type that fast, so it definitely is a bot. And not my bot either!

Unsure if it is an issue on redwallwarlords's end or my account being jeopardized. Also unsure how to approach resolving this.

3 months is tedious to play out to say the least. I disagree with the too much land sentiment. 1 month sets should be fine in regards to land.  Problem is some people dont even try to attack for land. They just assume its out of reach which is not the case at all.

any other big gameplay changes? i thought you could no longer make your clan tag none?
am i remembering right or was there a train button in the use turns tabs?
one more turn until im out of protection, positive ive already messed it up
None restriction can be bypassed with 'space', and many other unicode characters like U+200B. There is no 'industry' button (+25% production) in this code. Next best option would be Foreign Aid if clanned, or raise defences/anything really and F5+Enter spamming the public market every 5 turns if solo. 100% allocation stoats for example, sell to mercs 1 line when you need cash and switch into next allocation/spam/repeat.

To mess up a protection strategy is to use no turns at all tbh. For indy the hardest part is getting your first couple billion cash.  $4 billion can easily turn into 200 million networth with 100k land for example. #10 is giving free aid btw

As it stands it is highly in an empire's favor to buy out the market completely, and continously do so.  This means new listings will be $6, rather than letting the market average out around 12$ or so.

The demand for food on my part is due to food being costless networth, which with x5 networth foreign aid makes a very cheap run overall. Networth range is important and food allows us to go higher. Also food is very scarce, mercs gives about 100 mil daily depending on land.and 1 of the ferrets simply isnt  marketing their food.

This is an issue of there not being enough market players for food. But a code change on averaging out food even when bought out is a good idea. $6 food is an absolute steal

So without me to muck things up, did the little Sevz/Snare/Disl pact break up then? Interesting. Also hi guys, I took a break for awhile, real life stuff like wrecking my car and whatnot kind of got in the way, but I'll give the new set a try.
I was a quite annoyed Snare/Sevz were able to get a total land lockdown 2 rounds ago, which I failed to break. So I signed up to make sure it didn't happen this past round. I ended up partnering with Gier which I didn't regret. I would partner with Snare again but we would run away with the set in all honesty  :D
Welcome back Volky!

...though I'm sure gier was a pleasure to teach.
The very first 2 weeks he was looting on 80 ratio or so.  I explained he should loot on 175 ratio or close to it, which should yield $1500+ under $100 mil networth with wolf.  He picked up quick and in the final month did all the buyouts on his own. He explained on the final day he had a total monopoly on troops. Shadow had all the food. If you guys continued to play there is no way we would have got that score. I do agree that Sevz indeed, sucks :P

@Gier it was a pleasure working with you. We first met 2 rounds ago when Sevz/Snare had a total lockdown on land and we couldn't coordinate any kind of offense. When we finally got 600 mil rats on the market, it was all bought out leaving us with no hope haha. You mastered the nuances of the leader strategy, consistent with coordination/messaging and your own input further helped in our market warfare tactics making you a fine warlord to partner with all around. I hope you stick around!

@Austfit I recommended that you make 100% barracks, spam F5 + Enter with foreign aid which equals ton of networth. You disappeared shortly after. I hope you stick around too buddy!

@Shadow I suggested to Gier we buy your food and steal your cash in the 1st month, he advised not to. A sort of unspoken, non-aggression pact was established shortly after.  I am greatly surprised nobody poisoned you. The random food and cash shipments greatly helped, but shortly after Sevz went missing in action and we had the lead. I even asked you to revolt into Rat to help us keep up in indy production but that was not needed. We even pondered if you would come after us. Regardless thanks for your assistance, in particular holding my troops.

@Gorak you ran a solid solo indy. I was getting eviscerated with standard attacks lol. You need to work on your leader though. I appreciated the forum comment activity ;)

@Sevz You are really really bad and suck. Nah but you were amazing 2 rounds ago with the lock, and this past round disappeared leaving Snare hanging to fend for himself. I am disappointed to say the least  :'(

This round was certainly, dynamic.  I believe rat + rat is the strongest combo in the game- even if they are getting market robbed consistently as demonstrated by Sevz/Snare. Mostly a factor granted by unlimited foreign aid credits though. Ferret is certainly viable solo, but also a sitting duck for steals/poisons. Wolf/Marten are great as usual for solo play, 22 hit limit gives them much needed defense from leader attack suicides but they pale in comparison to indy + indy.

Would love to hear thoughts about the market after the fact.
Market warfare is a legitimate strategy with dynamic pricing.  If an empire stores troops/food on public market, it is possible to crash that value 6 hours later with a single indy run (or ferret run for food). Then buyout as much as possible at profit while also having a chance to steal, poison or sack.  Suffice to say the dynamic market rewards monopolies. And from our experience, 'market attack'  success was contingent on how active our enemy is in checking their empire. Out of the maybe 20 or so buyouts, only a handful were Snare/Sevz able to log in time to save the cash by aiding to a leader player, unclanned.

Example: Rats at $600 on public. I do a 100% allocation rat run on 550 turns and load my public market or Gier's, then 6 hours later crash the price to $330 or so, and then have one of us buyout as much as possible in a single transaction, as the price will then skyrocket.

-How do we know where the cash goes? Open two tabs: 1 for scores and another for public market. Say we want to know who has rats, so we buy 10,000 rats on public market window. Change public market window to scores and watch for any networth changes between the old score page and new score page. Credit to Gier for finding this little trick. There is of course no way to find out how many troops each market player is holding exactly, but it makes tracking the cash possible without turn investment.

However as mentioned in an other thread this monopoly powerplay occurs consistently due to so few market players on the score board.  I recommended to Gier that we constantly buy out sevz and snare, then steal it back which was high risk, high reward and he liked that idea quite a bit :P  The reasoning was that our cash was exposed, so we put that burden on our enemy. Once we recovered most of the cash, we repeated until their markets were cleaned out as to reduce their chances at destroying our cash reserves. Game of hot potato, really.

Sevz disappeared for days while holding 10 bil+ food and $50 bil+ cash and $300 mil networth of troops, Snare was semi-active but making tons of networth on market. Pearls was buying our troops but made a fatal error in holding the networth. I destroyed most the purchased networth with Rat offense + chaos in just 22 hits lol.  Towards the very end Snare had 200 mil weasels which meant only murder was a feasible cost effective way to destroy their networth.

Finally Gier suggested we let Sevz and Snare fill their public market completely 1-2 days before reset, then we buy out all the troops and leave our opponents with the burden of converting that cash for networth.  This was the contingency plan if we couldn't loot as fast as they could industrialize troops. And in practice two rats clanned make far more networth than a wolf could loot and buy up.

All i have is a big pile of undefended food, that won't last haha
And no, I don't use the market. Prices are [poop] and I'm not giving my hard earned cash to one of you lot
You could buy Shadow's food and steal it all after it leaks from bank (~6 hours).  And if score ranking placement concerns you so much, follow up with poisons on him. With all that food it should put you in 1st (11 bil food is about $300 mil networth)

Gier is doing well, especially compared to last round.  Really impressed how consistent he has been with leader, and his cooperation/communication.  I asked him to clan up because indy is expensive without a foreign aid partner to spam to. That was my call. Gier had 14 mil leaders on 80k land, and snare had the poison and eventually steal on him all in the same run thanks to war declaration. Leader suicides are no joke in this game.

Still waiting for Sevz myself. I signed up specifically to deter him. Hope the mongy is doing well, he has been ignoring me these past 2 months :(

How about a 3 day grace period if they do not log in?  We have to keep in mind that after 7 days of inactivity an empire goes into vacation. So something less than 7 days to prevent abuse, but more than a few hours to nerf market stealing.

It dawned on me that over at QMT market cash and lottery wins would deposit to the empire as soon as they logged in. So if a mage wanted to market Rob they would have to camp online until their mark logs in, and be fast enough to respond.

We can take protection a step further, have the cash deposit to the bank instead so the empire has further grace period for their market cash in terms of maneuvering.

The bank would still leak cash, but only after the empire in question logs in. This gives the target empire a chance to respond to market theft.

Ferret would need that boost too. Quite easy to market rob a forager :P

Hitlimit tends to keep sacks from doing too much damage. But a special attack to reprisal steal has merit.
