need help... again

Jeeez I'm terrible with computers...

Okay, I am using windows XP and I am on the command prompt. What would I type to open a file from the directory?

(The kind that you type "copy con name.txt")

eh, I dont know if notepad is in the path
C:\WINDOWS\system32\notepad.exe?

Why are you using the command prompt?
Just use windows explorer, right click the file and open with Notepad

...pretty sure windows doesnt have a command-prompt based text editor by default, or does it?  Linux has nano and pico

got it to work:

type name.txt



No particular reason for doing this I just like doing things in a different way.
