Is the game open source? Would there be a good reason to have the game not be open source? Could we put the code on github?

We generally give it out if you ask.

For reference, the lead coder here years ago got permission to _not_ release the code, but nowadays if you ask nicely we'll give you a dump.  Its not something you can setup on your own if you're not savvy though, none of the old setup files work.  The login system currently requires a full SMF forum install with portal mod as well.

There's so much that would need to be done to make it easy for other people to use, and there's so many other things that currently need our attention.  's just not a priority, sorry.

QMT is easy to set up and mess around with, the code's also pretty nice too. Never tried FaF, might try that this weekend!
