[Trident]

 I made this up two years ago, and thought it was redwallish enough to be posted.

"The morning dawn soon turns to night,

As the moon casts rays of bright.

All those who've died in the wars,

Have gone behind dark forest doors.

And those alive are yet still weeping,

For their friends eternally sleeping."



I was sad when I was that age, many deaths fell then.  Not a good time at all, I'm surprised I survived.

 Ooo... Haiku mode!

Dusky red building
Setting sun, and orange sky
All must end some time

 Haiku's are ok, I go for rhythm and rhymes usually.

 Nice. Hmmm, I never really tried to write a haiku, but I have written a few poems. Here's my favorite:

The flower stands
as the city falls
Those who hold the flower stand
those who guard the city fall

[Edit: I can't ryhme either.]

 I really love hiaku, because there is so much symbolism involved. And I just have a knack for it, but since you insist on verse...

The sun rises on each empire
Giving birth to new ages
Akin to the logs in a fire
Known to few sages
The sun sets on each, too
As their fall brings strife
The land must always renew
As all things are given new life.

Thought it was fitting.
