I also love Hidden Fox. Unfortunately, all the old game theme's are not going to work with this new design until I go through and re-make them. This re-design took the better part of the last two weeks - every spare moment I had.

The problem with RWL is that it wasn't designed consistently, and it doesn't remotely adhere to any of the modern html standarts. So most of what I did was go through and completely rewrite how the game renders HTML.

Which means that any of the old CSS theme's will not fit this design.

The upside is that we're half way closer to having a properly designed game. now my designs have fewer css-hacks!

Exams are done, family issues have replaced them. But there is actually some other stuff in the works that is preventing me from coding mechanics for a few days yet.

He is referring to me, as I am currently doing a complete overhaul of RWL's UI design. it's taken me about 6 times as long as I thought it would.

I like the idea of combining camps and tents. It is worth some thought.

I'll pull some definitions (and maybe in the process of looking up my definitions I find a more appropriate word) when I get home later.

Summary:

A complete misinterpretation of the word ethnocentrism... Followed by a very wonderful explanation: 'Americans think they are the center of the universe because we so totally are'

Never said I was. In fact, if you look at my posts in this topic you should recognize that what I was leading up to was my criticism of the war-propagandized mentality that trip seems to have. I was trying to get him to consider other solutions to problems. I don't think it's necessarily a problem with marines, it's a problem with an ideology.

Well lets ignore the fact that any stats we have are not reliable (your estimate of last months average turn use does not qualify as a representative sample, and with such a small population size we'd really need to get every last eligible stat to have any hope of an accurate number). What I really want to do is level the playing field so that the game isn't won by people who can devote time to do 2 runs a day. I wish we had last rounds stats, but even with this fix you can see how much turn use affects ranking:

So that graph should appease any dissenters who believe that somehow they can do well on RWL without spending most of your life using turns. But this is after the turn-rate change, and we cannot know how bad it was last round. Yes, sometimes you can end with a good rank without using many turns, but overall you are at a if you use 40% fewer turns, you are likely to be 50 ranks below.

It's nationalism.

@Lucy, I have argued about the ethnocentricity (so how much they think the world revolves around their culture) of a lot of the things said by Americans on these forums. There does not seem to be any hope.

It's funny that you are asking me why I don't like war. It's shocking how perverse your ideology must be when it treats war as sacred. It is dirty, tragic, aweful, and it ought to be avoided. I didn't start posting in this topic because I wanted to argue that - in most of the world this is understood. But if you really want me to start talking about why I am so 'anti-war' I can do that. Apparently I'm the guy on these forums who blows your minds with all this talk about love and peace... I don't necessarily want to have some silly debate about it though, and this isn't UMD. So here's a video of one of my heroes (this time not Jesus, promise).

All right Peace. What's your perfect plan to replace all military "killing machines"? How would you go about it? Why on earth are you discouraging this guy from joining the marines?
Let's say I'm just pulling a Neo here, and I'm asking Trip to critically examine his choices. HE was the one who called them killing machines.

Ultimately I am discouraging him because, and my probing questions have confirmed this, it sounds an awful lot like he's been swept up in patriotic propaganda.

Not that I think we have an legitimate statistic of either this month or last month, I think it looks like most peoples %'s went up. So it had a desired effect.
