Alright I've started up (yet another) RP on the RP forums, which, if it fails, could quite possibly be my last attempt to RP on these forums. Please, for the love of whatever motivates you, try your hardest to not make my creation fail!

Equally stable...  I never had Word crash on me.
But then again, I haven't used Word in 3 years
OpenOffice is win.  I cant imagine paying for a word processor anymore...  Especially the retail cost of MS Office.
OpenOffice can both open and save .doc's.  I'm not entirely sure about powerpoints, it can open .ppt's just fine, I havn't tried to create a presentation and open it in powerpoint though.  Spreadsheets it does alright with, Excel does them better.
